Been edcing the echelon 1 month after it came out it’s been my favorite pistol purchase so far. The echelon and m&p 2.0 are the only two guns I’ve ever considered buying doubles of lol
I respect how you handle the communication thru the comments cause like you said not everyone is experienced so I appreciate the example nd the information you bring to the table✊🏾💯🙏🏾
I'm a Springfield .40 and 10mm guy. My 40 year old G19 is gathering dust in my kitchen drawer, and if I want to carry 9mm, I grab my Arex Delta 2 X. If I need pocket carry, I go with my OG Hellcat in a Stoner pocket holster. I think I'll order this Echelon Comp and see if it can replace my Arex.
I sold mine, for what ever reason I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it but with my canik rival, canik mc9, and my cz shadow 2 compact I can carve out holes in my targets. I wanted to love the m&p 2.0 metal carry comp but for what ever reason I can't shoot s&w handguns at all.
Springfield TRP I had it milled for a holosun by Vulcan machine werks. Im a sheriffs deputy going on 20 years this December. I also qualified with a Glock 17
lol I own a Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS but hands down, I’m a Springfield guy. First pistol I ever got was an SA XDm 3.8 .45 Compact and with my Echelon now, it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a pistol and just waiting on my Icarus frame to come in! :)
Cz75 p-01 omega cut for a holosun by dynamic weapons system. Added comp with adjustable irons for cowitness. One the best, reliable, and fastest shooting guns I’ve ever carried. Over 2500 rounds shot and not a single failure. Great set up
Very smart of SA to start “comping” their firearms and give the people what they want and are doing after market anyway. Even more intelligent to just cut ports and relocate the front irons, minimal reengineering and manufacturing additions to try and meet customer demand. I hope everyone else is taking notes, this is only improving options for us the consumer. I think we can all thank sig for this!
I'm with you on the concept that Sign started a trend that S&W followed up with in their Performance Center lineup and Springfield is definitely innovating and following up with. Not sure if you've seen the SAR P8L or P8S, but they put out ports on a CZ/Tangfolio clone before the Sig started the innovative integrated comp.
18 year active duty Marine working on 20 (so I can be done lol). EDC is P365 XMacro, and love it. That being said I like Sig, but not an Sig fanboy (don’t like the p320). The Xmacro is perfect for what I want it for though.
About a year ago, I ordered the echelon once it arrived at my FFL. Before I took it home, I had him comp it and cerakote it now they are coming comped from the factory, oh well, I voided another warranty thats most of my guns 😆
I've been waiting for the comp version ever since the echelon was released. Now i can finally pick one up. Is the optic cut low enough on the echelon to co-witness with the stock standard height sights?
I sent my echelon to monsoon tactical for their triple 7’s porting. Love how it shoots , wonder which is flatter ? Triple 7’s or new factory chunk port ? Hope that review happens eventually. I’m guessing it’s too close to call.
I usually carry two guns with me, right now Im carrying a standard Echelon with my comped Echelon being delivered tomorrow. I also carry a p365 with a Radian Ram jet+Afterburner, Norsso Slide, Icarus grip module, Tyrant CNC goodies, and MCarbo short stroke flat trigger
Great question. I have several 2011’s such as Staccato, Buls, and other high end pistols like Wilson Combats. Most are ported. None of which I would trust in a SHTF scenario. While I think a comp would be fine, additional cuts on the slide, openings, etc…is just asking for failure. I’m likely grabbing an Echelon (only other striker fired I own is a TTI Combat. While the TTI has been flawless for me, I don’t trust it enough yet.
@@AJ-hi5rh I’m thinking the same..the less failure points the better. Plus I shoot that PDP really well. I had just run it through a course shooting about 300 rounds through it and we were just fooling around shooting at a steel man size target at 100 yards. I run Holosun 507C on it and was able to hit the target 4 out of 10 times
I carry a VP9 or VP9SK depending on what I'm wearing. I just got a Fdez Werx/Icarus Precision XXL P365 X Macro which I plan on replacing my VP9SK with once I get more time behind the trigger.
I just bought my first gun (Hellcat pro) comes with viridian green dot, 5 mags, range bag and small bag shown in video. Only problem is it’s taking forever for Springfield to ship it 🥲. Ordered it on August 16 😤
It’s worth the wait. I got the same deal and the only thing I’ve done since is upgrade the trigger since my stock one was super heavy and toss on a weapon light.
I have several comped Staccatos. The best is the XC. However, looking at the Echelon comped model, it looks very snappy. I think it is the fact that it does not have a bull barrel. I have the standard Echelon and I am going to sell it. It just doesn't compare to the Staccatos. Forget the price of the Stacacctos, The Echelon is still snappy.
Something I find interesting is the name they’ve given it. Would 4.5 f or full size mean a 3.7 c is finally coming to market? The echelon compact is what the people want, Springfield. Give it to them.
While I like the Echelon, Springfield marketed the gun as being “modular”. A year later I still can’t purchase a separate barrel, slide, etc for it. That I don’t like.
Warmer weather I use the cz p10c colder weather was the cz p10f but got an echelon five months ago and the more I shoot it the more I’m tempted to make this my winter carry option. I ordered the Icarus grip just waiting to receive it but this comped slide is very interesting.
Oh boy, everybody get out there and get one of these! Another 9 mm pistol! And this one has a compensator because of all the recoil and 9 mm puts out!!! 😂
I carry 45 caliber XD, and have several to choose from depending on weather. In summer, if I’m somewhere hot I have Keltec P3AT (but looking to go to the Ruger LCP MAX for hot weather gun)
In answer to your question - when I carry it has been a Beretta PX4 Storm. After my shoulder heals from surgery I may switch to the Echelon Comp - comparable size but has a Holosun 507 mounted. The PX4 does not have one.
Man i carry a bit of everything. Glock, springfield, hk, sig, but lately my springfield 1911 TRP Tactical original has been on my hip. Have had this one for nearly 20years. Gah showing the age.
I guess I'll just stick with my original Prodigy and Echelon. Pretty frustrating that they didn't release the comped versions first so now I'll always have the second best one.
Should come with more magazines and bust out a compact version. Maybe I’m asking too much but I’d buy two: full size for IDPA/USPSA and compact for EDC.
I started out as a "Glock Guy" - and I still like them - but I've fallen hard for the DS1911/2011/2311 platform... particularly the OA Defense 2311 series and Staccato C/CS models.
used to carry an Operator 45 1911A1, swapped that for a SA 1911DS Prodigy for my EDC (after i got 500 rds without a malfunction) Though the echelon comp or hellcat pro comp for another carry option.. havent decided yet
I started with Ruger guns in my younger days. Then I went to Some cheap Hammer fire Guns like Tangfolio EAA guns. Then I decided 1911’s or other brands. I chosen CZ Springfields and GForce. Loved them all. I do have the Echelon and other products than Springfield imports and just like the Polymer frame maybe some say a 1911.
I work outside all day and sweat so the only pistol I can carry that won't rust is Glock 19x. I won't carry a carry gun with optics because the sweat will cause RMR plate underneath to rust and the window will get dirty.
The cut on that one looks like it's angled forward more than the hellcat or m&p which I would think would help keep gas outta your face and help direct noise forward maybe.. no matter to me I still prefer the threaded barrel model but nice review
Brand spanking new shooter still trying to decide on my first pistol. Echelon is very much on my list along with a Glock 19x or a full size M&P 2.0 with the newer flat face trigger.
So I started 2 months ago. 1st pickup was a Staccato CS, next was an HK P30L, then M&P Metal with a threaded barrel and comp. I then picked up a M&P9 5" that I'll be sending over to Floyds for a custom slide. Have a tungsten guide rod and new recoil springs on the way. Goes without saying, I recommend the M&P Platform. Things are just incredible in the hand, they shoot everything, they're accurate, and sleek as hell so they're easy to conceal. I EDC my metal with the comp on wearing a T-Shirt and shorts and it's like 4.85"
Don't go with a Block... their grip angle is just wrong. M&P and Echelon are good choices. Everyone wants a small gun to carry, but a big gun when it comes time to save your life... go full size, they carry just fine, unless you plan on carrying with it pointing at your nuts/femoral artery 😮.
@@survivetheattack eh the grip angle can have its advantages. Plus a gun that goes bang Everytime is a good thing. But I agree the m&p just felt solid. Best grip texture of any gun I've held so far. Second is probably shadow systems in terms of texture.

Porting would just be drilling a hole in the gun. The companies are calling these comps, because of the way the barrel is bored out to make it an integrated compensator.
@@FiringLineShooting I disagree. Look at any compensator made by KKM, Herrington, PMM, Radian…those are what I consider proper compensators that usually require a threaded barrel to attach the compensator to the end of it. Now compare this (or other manufacturers offerings called “comps”) and they are basically just a port at the very end of the barrel/slide. Check out the OG of porting, MagnaPort. They’ve been doing it for 40 years, and on semi auto pistols, it essentially is this, except they cut long ports on both sides of the barrel/slide, lengthwise, and on a 45 degree angle/spot. That is the original idea of a ported gun. Check them out, some of the best porting jobs out there and criminally underrated. Also, MUCH more effective than this Echelon-anyone would be better off getting a regular Echelon and sending it to MagnaPort.
@@DookeyRidr I have had a gun ported by magnaport. Im familiar. I'm just telling you difference. A port is when you make a hole in the barrel and a comp has a cavity that is shaped to help direct gas upwards. I know for sure that the Smith and Wesson Carry Comp and the Springfield Prodigy Comp have actually formed cavities inside of the ported area that would make it like a "comp". I haven't looked inside the Echelon comp, but if they just cut a hole in the barrel, then yes that would be a port.
@@FiringLineShooting Yes, and I’ve shot a gun done by MagnaPort, and others. There is less of a difference between that and what S&W, Springfield, etc, are doing and what a port is vs an actual real “compensator device”. If they don't sell the slide and barrel separately, it's gonna be an "L". Also, they need to hurry and release a compact model.
They eventually will. By then, people going to buy the whole firearm already. Marketing..
It should have had the comp in the first place
Basically Hellcat Pro comp is a mini
The Hellcat Pro is kinda like a compact Echelon 🤷🏽♂️ unless you mean more of the G19, M&P 2.0 size
They should have already made a compact. It's going on a couple years since the Echelon's release.
I've been wanting the Echelon since day 1, but will they come out with a 4 inch barrel, full size frame? Like the G45.
