I’m now going to binge watch your videos. It’s so fun to discover a new woodworker (especially a woman!)
Thanks Barbara, hope you enjoyed your binge watching!!!
I’m doing the same now!
I wish my wife could do this stuff with me. That would be incredible!

Big simpin'
Honestly I've never built a chest before but after watching this video you did a great job helping viewers understand the simplicity of it. I've watched a couple other videos and boy do some make it more difficult than it needs to be. Excellent job it looks phenomenal and I'm a lot more confident now then before watching this 😊
I started my trunk today based on your model. I’m a beginner and this was certainly at my level. Thank you for this
I love this build! Thank you! It's easy and affordable. I would love to see more of this type of project, the kind that uses basic tools that most people already have. And the wood can be pulled from free pallets making this chest even more affordable.
I've looked at several blanket chests looking for the best way for how I'm building my next one. I believe yours would be the best because you've explained and shown how very well. Will be a few months because of the weather. Thanks for the GREAT instructions and video.
Awesome build!!!!!!I have made a few of these for family and friends only change i made was adding washers to the belt handle installation and a support hinge. Love love love the simplicity and beauty of this build.
I built this project today. I used big box lumber and it turned out great. Thanks!
September 2 2020 I too am binge watching your videos. It is great to find a new woodworking channel (especially a woman and a Canadian).
Simply, beautiful art.
Great job! I love seeing wood reused and not just thrown away. That box has a story behind it from a past life as a barn.
Agreed! Makes it so much more satisfying to upcycle.
So I’ve watched this 20 times the minimal ! I’m so ready to build it !
Excellent video. The fact that you actually checked to see if your frame was true was also superb, others do not even bother
Marie ! It is not often that a woman does woodworking, you gave me some good idées. Great little shop.Thank you.👍
The nail gun is amazing. Great job!
This would have save so many arguments if I had of found this 2 years ago. I never completed the project due to fear of ability to complete it. I am about to go dumpster diving for some pallet wood and make one for the heck of it. Thanks for making it simple and useful! Happy New Year!
Made one from reclaimed cedar. Awesome work.
ngl these tutorials are my savior. I've been doing this kind of stuff for years just going by instinct without really thinking about materials/tools/etc, and it's worked greatly for me so far, but I've feared the day when it would fail me
Nice! Nice! Nice!
Simple... easy..... rustically beautiful!
Great use for reclaimed lumber.straight and to the point.good job.
Thank you
Came out so great, awesome work! I had a fire in my house a while ago and saved all the floorboards that had to be removed; I think I’ll try something similar using those ones. Cheers for posting!
I've been looking for a trunk to put our shoes in out in the mudroom and this is perfect, thanks!
That turned out great. Nice and easy to follow! Well done. (open your spindle sander! You're gonna love it!)
Lol can’t believe you noticed the box in the background 🤣
This is GREAT...beautiful wood texture..n the storage chest..FANTASTIC..!! THANK YOU
Being a newbie to woodworking, Oh my goodness quick and easy i'm so subscribing to your channel. Great DIY. Keep them coming. 😀
Hey, thank you so much! Welcome aboard :)
Cool build! Very simple to construct and I like how you handled the bottom set up!
Thanks!
I'm about to make this with cheap 1x4 furring strips from Home Depot. I think they'll work well since they're about .75" x 3.5". I'm going to torch them a bit to give them a little character and then use a light stain. The whole thing should cost about $45 with hardware. Here's hoping it turns out well!
Good luck with the build!
Howd it turn out?
@@7A7ER turned out great except I had used glue and pin nails, so it started coming apart after a bit. I reinforced it with screws all around, so it's solid now.
Love the video, I love working with wood and your videos are so easy to follow and not overcomplicated!
You visually answered all my storage making question.
Thank you.
I will be making 🙌🏽
Awesome!
This was very satisfying to watch! You really made it look so easy!
I have a bunch of 1x4 and 2x4 behind my shed I’m trying to use up before winter . Your video completely inspired my to build a behind the shed storage box to hold worn dirt bike tires or maybe wood scraps hmmm maybe I need two boxes ... thanks for your video I love the design of your chest
This is probably the best, most fluid, and concise video I have seen on any site. Great job. I am currently building a slightly smaller one.
Thank you, appreciate it! Good luck with the build.
Just what I was looking for! Thanks!
I'll be honest, I started out cringing at you not using a jointer to get the board edges perfectly straight, and making them perfectly flat, etc..... but honestly the lack of doing so gives it a bit of character. Well done.
Thank you so much for this! Made one for our balcony ^^
I have built three chests in similar fashion, now working on my fourth, i may incorporate some of your ideas on this one or the next. thanks for sharing and great build!
Thanks! Making chests is fun, definitely want to build another myself!
That's a great learning video.
Love it! perfect!
I always admire a woman with technical skills 😉👍🏽
That was a very cool build! I love the way you did the corners using spacers to inter-latch. Been looking for storage ideas as planning to do a tool box for my truck. Thanks for the content!
nice box, gotta get me some reclaimed wood, i like the age, and weathering.
Super simple build, that's a compliment. Really good explanation of each step, that's also a compliment. I really like the look of your finished project, and that you reused the wood after holding on to it. Thank you and keep it up.
Thanks! I'll admit that using recycled materials makes it even more satisfying :-)
good project. great video. i liked the quick shots to give the "idea" without having to watch each board ripped, cut and sanded. right to the point. thank you for posting.
Thanks, appreciate the positive feedback! And glad you liked it :)
Beautiful work.
Congratulations!
Unreal skill. Looks amazing
Very cool, the hidden framing underneath is a great idea!
Thanks Robert!
This was a great - effective - simple how to guide! I have needed toy storage for my kids and so glad I came across your video! Thanks so much!
Awesome, thank you!
Love, how the project turned out.
Thanks!
Very nice.... I have a thing for old wooden chests/boxes. My wife has rolled her eyes more than once for dragging in old boxes but she learns to love them in the end.
Looks brilliant, well done.
Ahhhhh, esse eu vou fazer p mim guardar minhas ferramentas 👏
That's an easy way to built a chest, thanks for share!!
I love this project. Gonna build this weekend. Thank you.
As always you make inspiring projects. Building them with ease. I love watching your techniques. I have some pallet wood so I’m going to give this a try. Thank you for your ideas and inspiration.
Thanks Jason! You should try this for sure. Be sure to post some pics on Instagram if you do!
Thank you. Great skill.
So simple, even I could make it lol. Looks great 👌
Really a good build. Instead of rope to hold the lid, you might use the same belt and cut it longwise to make thinner strips and it will match your handles. Good job!!!
That's a great idea Donnie! Hope I have enough left to do this. Thanks!
nails without glue is not joinery. they will work loose and fall apart over time. Joinery is what it is for a reason. it works.
Love the rustic look.
Thank you!
I love to watch these of videos. Thanks for sharing your time, skill, and information.
Building mine right now. Half way built! Thanks for the video!
That's awesome! Thanks
OMG! Where were you when I built mine????LOL. I used pallet wood to built mine. Thanks for the ideas on how to build any new ones.
😊😊😊
Loving your videos!❤
Excellent! I need to make a rustic gunpowder storage box and this design is perfect for it.
Thanks for sharing. Very nice hands-on approach. Only this morning the idea popped in my head to make some small storage boxes. Will put your method to use too.
That's great, thanks! Enjoy the build.
simply beautiful 🙌🙌🙌
This is what I’m looking for! Great Job girl!!!
Great DIY video!! I have found that knowing how to keep your chisel sharp is the best way to become good at using a chisel.
Definitely could use some practice with that too!
Thanks for this. I've always wanted to make one of these.
Its beautiful.. Only wosh u spary painted the screws black as well.
From one builder/ welder/ fabricator to another, this is a great build. Your instructions are so easy to follow that anyone can make this. 2 THUMBS UP 👍 👍. Consider me a subscriber.
Awesome thank you so much! Appreciate it.
Belleza de trabajo te felicito.
Nice build! Definitely a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.
Love the Chest!
Great vid. No nonsense commentary & no annoying loud music in background. Good job.
Thanks, much appreciated!
Came out great! Exactly the video I needed.
Awesome job!!! I love it!! Congrats!!
It's perfect for what I was looking for. Thank you so very much 🤗
Thanks! Happy to share.
Thank you so much for this! I have watched lots of videos on how to do this and have decided to go with your method, its the easiest and looks the best. Do you think it can hold up 120 pounds? If not, what kind of reinforcements can I use to make this load-bearing? thanks!
Quick neat and professional
Nice design, basic and simple
Nice job!! Definitely trying it since my boys want toy chests! And I have tons of pallets at work! Thanks for sharing
Pallets would work great for this! And I'm sure the boys will love it.
Awesome truck! Thank you❤
Well done Lady...
That is really great looking. I think I'll build one in a smaller scale for my daughter.
What a beautiful build, some good ideas with angle brackets & use of an old belt, how long have you been making videos ?, I’m just on one year & loving it, keep up the great work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much 😊 I started making videos about 7 months ago. It’s been a learning process but loving it!
Looks great!! I love using repurposed lumber.
Thanks!
You’re awesome young lady... love your work.
Thanks!
I love it. Love reclaimed wood.
Thanks, reclaimed wood always looks so great.
I agree good video
Lovely piece
Nice corners using the spacers to create the overlap. 👍🏼
Thanks 👍🏻
Great video. This will be my take on building a chest for our living room. My wife has approved it, so it might be ok. 👍🏻
Great idea to cut down the tongue and groove as I am using Pallet wood and not old T&G so that helps me. Good looking Chest. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Even better, you get to skip a step :-)
Yep looks just like the planter box I made from pallets, minus the lid
古材で、作る木箱 参考になります。
great beginner friendly video!! Thank you
This build gave me inspiration for my own storage boxes so thanks for sharing!
Your chisel skills are actually not shabby considering what tool you're using. Try sharpening your chisel (it should shave pine/cedar/fir like butter)
Years ago, my dad got me a nice set, ill never go back to a buck bros cheapo chisel.
Look for wood river (inexpensive, but quality steel thatll hold a good edge for a long time)
Plenty of vids on sharpening on utube, and yes its a chore but worth the effort!
It's quite a neat storage trunk,nothing fancy,but very adequate for what it's used for,worthy of my 5 ☆ rating
Thanks!
Nice simple build. I'm going to make it with my daughter. Great, thanks.
Looks great. Thank for the video, it's very helpful. I hope to use your method to build a standing cabinet.
Very nicely done and I love your tools. I am making myself a motorcycle trunk and your videos are very helpful
