Honestly I've never built a chest before but after watching this video you did a great job helping viewers understand the simplicity of it. I've watched a couple other videos and boy do some make it more difficult than it needs to be. Excellent job it looks phenomenal and I'm a lot more confident now then before watching this 😊

I love this build! Thank you! It's easy and affordable. I would love to see more of this type of project, the kind that uses basic tools that most people already have. And the wood can be pulled from free pallets making this chest even more affordable.

I've looked at several blanket chests looking for the best way for how I'm building my next one. I believe yours would be the best because you've explained and shown how very well. Will be a few months because of the weather. Thanks for the GREAT instructions and video.

I'm about to make this with cheap 1x4 furring strips from Home Depot. I think they'll work well since they're about .75" x 3.5". I'm going to torch them a bit to give them a little character and then use a light stain. The whole thing should cost about $45 with hardware. Here's hoping it turns out well!

Your chisel skills are actually not shabby considering what tool you're using. Try sharpening your chisel (it should shave pine/cedar/fir like butter)
Years ago, my dad got me a nice set, ill never go back to a buck bros cheapo chisel.
Look for wood river (inexpensive, but quality steel thatll hold a good edge for a long time)
Plenty of vids on sharpening on utube, and yes its a chore but worth the effort!
