I have finally conquered my fears! I’m 28 but I made moi moi for the first time in my life today 🥺🥺🥺 Thanks so much for this video. God will bless you indeed.
This is one serious moi moi - you brought out all the appliances. Food processor for the beans Blender to mix Stand mixer bowl to combine Hand mixer to whip... I was waiting for you to bust out the sous vide to cook. 😂 I love it - we share the same love for kitchen appliances. Most importantly, this looks delicious!
I’m normally a Sisi Jemimah stan. I use all your recipes ever since I discovered your page! Your jollof rice recipe made me the guru I am now. 😅 But I just had to comment on this. After working up the courage to try this recipe, I can proudly say, you never miss. Starting out as someone who couldn’t make stew right, to being able to make moimoi myself with LEAVES!! I can only say thank you. Thank you Sisi Jemimah. You’ve changed my life. ❤❤❤
@@nifemioluwa6708 It was done with sliced egg like that when I was a teenager in Ibadan. You can also put shrimp and pieces of cooked liver. They are delicious.
So I tried this yesterday and my moi moi came out so well. It was just that the beans washing is actually quite stressful though of course the use of blender really helps. I used ramekins which I put in the oven and then put water in baling trays to imitate the steaming process in a pot. The moi moi came out really well. Thank u
Jesus Christ!! This brings back childhood memories in my hometown of Ilesa. My father would drive us to the local "iya moinmoin." The taste was incredible and it looked just like this. Thank you.
No I'm not Akanni Aluko's son although we were confused with each other. But a resounding YES. It was Ireti-ayo off Abigail Iyalode street next to Ireto Ayo hisptql itself. You sound familiar. How can I reach you please? This sounds like a rekindling.
Awesome! I will not have go and buy moi-moi for my family instead I can make right here at home. Thanks for showing this videos to Nigerians from USA and/or any where people are watching this video. Very helpful!
Ooh this looks similar in concept and look to Singaporean/ Malaysian/ Indonesian otak-otak or botok-botok. Never tried moi moi ever in my life but i think I will. Thanks for your recipe it looks so good 😋
Thanks for this. I think you missed to tell how long it takes for the moi moi to cook. It took me 25 minutes to cook. I used nylon, not leaves because I could not find leaves around. I know, i know. Don't worry about my health, it is once in a long while thing.😂😂
This moi moi recipe is delicious. I recently made this, but I omitted the fish and had to use foil to cook it in since I don't have access to leaves here. I plan on making this again--it is soooo good.
I'm a new subscriber and I love you already. Not least because we've both got heat-proof hands 🤣. Nice recipe. I think I'll blend my bouillon cubes together with the beans. Good shout about the chicken stock. Thank you
The traditional wrapping leafs made my day but, the preparation process like adding vegetable oil and palm oil is a No No: Go full African style and preserve the culture. Sisi J, you don try, I go tell for u, lol
I love the way you brought this to life. I'm having issues with my kitchen appliances blending the beans to a puree. It's bringing up smoke each time I use it to blend beans. I'll appreciate it if you share the brand of the blender thar gave thar smooth blend. It's black Friday now I might still get a bargain 🤔
Buy plantain leaves from Walmart. If in Los angeles check out Northgate market, payless grocery, green farm or Dat moi. P and J too. I just bought some now from Northgate farms.
It’s like outside Nigeria, all the best cooks live in England. Men in America go to restaurants or we just cook for ourselves the way we know how. Our Nigerian women work long hours, therefore they don’t have the time or the energy left to cook.
Thy hands are really heat proof😂. I dare not try that. I already bought leaves at the market to make moimoi tomorrow, I happened to see the notification for your recipe now. We are in spirit. 😁
Sisi, does moi moi taste any different or is the recipe affected if you use the skin. Just asking, as I saw one blogger grind everything and it came out fine. Thanks 😊❤️🙏
Truezlady E m not sure but in Igarra Edo state we make white moimoi without peeling the skin and without other things just the grinded beans and salt but we eat it with garden egg sauce
Even after watching this video today I cried making this leaf moi moi it's still cooking and I just pray it turns out better I cried real tears I mean it
Watching this reminded me that I should use chicken stock and not water.I have seen someone make delicious moin moin by adding corned beef.My corned beef results were not good.Is the trick not blend the corned beef but to mix it into the blended beans?
Sisi's J, you cook delicious meals, congrats. I have followed some of your recipes and my results taste like my mother's cooking. I am now for first time going to try cooking this moinmoin. One question please. Why did you not put in raw egg and blend into the mixture.
I have finally conquered my fears! I’m 28 but I made moi moi for the first time in my life today 🥺🥺🥺 Thanks so much for this video. God will bless you indeed.

Awww!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️🥺

Only oil or??????
Delicious!😋
Please what's the use of the palm oil since there's vegetable oil already?
I'm thinking for colour?
And the palm thang flavoring
I just think it's for choice and variety. If not, the shombo and tatashe has coloured it already.
Wow, this is really good.
Thanks for the food processor/dough blade tip. Last time I tried using my vitamix to accomplish this, the vitamix was too enthusiastic.
