Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed the video! Please drop this video a like and let me know in the comments if you’ve ever had issues with your charge pipe!
Been watching so many of your videos and there are all so great and have so much information! I just picked up my 2015 435 few days ago and now will be watching all your videos for future car mods. You build is amazing👍🏻
Simple answer - Yes to avoid detonation of-said Charge pipe. Been there done that as I couldn't wait on pipes to arrive to get a better throttle response.. If you are going to tune and overboost - you better replace that plastic garbage asap, as simple as that..
@@storyofwil7004you don’t need it but it Helps, think of it like your lungs and the engine is your heart, feed the heart clean fresh air at a rapid rate and your heart doesn’t work as hard , you could also put in a better fmic while your at it and a better turbo and catless dp, it all depends on your goal just think about it like your engine breathing.

Just subscribed! I'm in a tight bind and need to get a K-DCAN cable sent by this weekend. Bimmergeek can't get one here until next week. Any idea if one on Amazon could do stage 1?
The B48’s have a recirculating valve and don’t have an option for a bov, the built up pressure is recycled. If you want more of that “turbo” noise you’ll need to put in an open box CAI
but should you not get the charge pipe and intake on the b48 anyways, i got a 330i just charge pipe in MST intake on Saturday, but with pipe alone i can move quicker, throttle response improved.
Hey i have a 430i with bm3 stage 2 with a catless dp + upgraded chargepipe, do u think id need anything else to support stage 2 or should the charge pipe + catless dp be fine?
You're going to want an ungraded Intercooler and top of the line plugs imho. I'd also consider hardening the intake pipe section that 'leads up' to the intake pipe that is generally replaced when we do aftermarket Intakes. Also harden the boost pipe, sometimes overlooked.. Stage 2 is demanding on air flow - anything plastic is inevitable doom at Stage 2..
I just got a 2018 330i GT 2.0 TT and it’s my first bmw. I don’t know 🤷♂️ anything about these cars, but I want to work that HP up, and do a lot of other stuff. I got a carbon fiber Spoiler, A carbon fiber rear diffuser, a carbon fiber and M sport bumper, I have all those sitting in my house. The only thing I got on so far was the Spoiler, and I am getting ready to purchase a widebody kit for it as well! Anybody got any tips for me when it comes to getting a little more out of the engine?
Can you do Downpipe review, im hoping the smell and other side effects aren't to annoying. Also do I have to do a stage 2 with my downpipes or can I stick to my stage 1
That’s the V8 right? I’m not sure about those. For these cars they only really recommend that you change the spark plugs and the gapping of the spark plugs for stage 2. I even ran stage 1 for awhile and was fine. However I don’t know about the V8
@@ernieramirez8878 so same as the 435i. In my opinion, you’re good with the stock spark plugs for stage 1. I wouldn’t upgrade them until stage 2. That’s what I did personally, but totally up to you
You need to do the intake (recommend Dinan), ignition coils, upgrade spark plugs to 1 step colder iridium, down pipe (not needed but recommended) and charge pipe with the tune. Seriously. You will misfire if you don’t upgrade the plugs and you need that airflow with the intake. If you don’t have the M sport air box, recommended you upgrade that too (extremely cheap) for the air flow.
Also def replace the charge pipe if you’re going stage 1. the 330i charge pipe, while not as bad as the N55, is still very prone to cracking when under increased boost and even more so if you live in a colder climate.
Anyone know an estimate om how much changing chargepipe will cost? Specifically labor because I'm not good with my hands. 2015 228i (Convertible if that matters)
On my 330i I did a multi map tune so whenever I want good gas mileage, I quickly switch it to a stock tune. When I want a little more power, I switch it to stage 1. So I have the best of both worlds
@@prestonp.7094 super easy. All you have to do is press and hold the “RES” button on the left of your steering wheel the scroll through the different maps. It issues the numbers on your tachometer to tell you which one you’re on. I legit do it on the spot as I’m driving sometimes
I personally do. A flash tune feels more complete and thought out. There’s also more you can do with them like adjust burble settings, code out check engine lights from like a catless down pipe, GTS start up roar, etc.
There is no 'stage 1' with bolt ons, without a flash tune or piggy back tuner device to be fully honest here.. Bolting on things without a tune isn't going to do much - if anything in most cases. The tune itself tells the car what to do with the extra air, fuel, and whatnot. Otherwise you're feeding your car alot of air due to increased flow from the aftermarket bits - but it's not going to do anything more with it than the stock BMW ECU tune is ready to deal with. Now, slapping something like a exhaust manifold on or aftermarket cams - something hardcore machined to-do with the engine (not bolts ons) - sure you'll get some instant power increases. Yet you'd still get much more - with a tune that takes that all into account! That is what the aftermarket tunes 'do'. They configure the car to properly handle the increased air it's getting, and also allow the car to better mix that increased air with fuel to get optimal output. (this is why you hear things like 'running 91 tune, 93 tune, E85 tune', etc mentioned when someone says they are running a 'tune'.) GL and have fun - that's what it's 'really' all about!
For a 330i, not really. You can pretty much go stage 1 on a completely stock car. I upgraded my charge pipe just to be safe but it probably wasn’t necessary

Do a video doing some pulls with the 435i now that you’re stage 1 🙌🏼🙌🏼

For the N20 charge pipe is needed same plastic crap as the 435 and just as much of a pita to install as well.
