Last week I made a trip to New Jersey to see my friends at Kies Motorsports. On the first day we did a Stage 1 Bootmod3 tune which gave us massive gains in horsepower and torque. I was blown away how a simple tune could make such a big difference, considering that the engine is otherwise 100% stock.
We did a bunch of other mods including a complete overhaul of the interior. M Sport steering wheel, dry carbon fiber paddle shifters, P3 vent gauge, iDrive screen, Apple CarPlay.. Look for those videos some time in the future!

Hey Justin big thing people do with bootmod3 is an upgraded transmission flash, it significantly improves your throttle response and time of shifts to almost exact. I’ve seen a few videos on it you should definitely definitely try it if it’s available for the 340i

i can tell you secret , install downpipe and chargepipe , delete mufler ,also change and adjust spark plugs you will get extra 50 hp , always do this mods before tuning because engine have to breath healthy, if it is not enough you can increase turbo at stock engine maybe 20% , at the same time you have to increase brake power , change suspension , does it worth ? i would buy M
i love Bmw ... but something that i always hated is the weak turbo intensity... spool sound , bov etc

I’m in awe of this MOD but I do have several questions….1. The infamous factory warranty. Does it void it? 2. I’m stoked about it and wanted to know if this doable for any BMW? I have a 2018 X5 and thinking of trading it in for a X5 with more HP. I wouldn’t have to do it if I’m able to see these gains from this MOD. Thanks!
ECU tune voids factory warranty. Some shops claim they can't "see" if the ECU is tuned, that is BS, they can always see that changes have been made.

As far as lifespan, increasing power will ineventebly but more strain on the motor, but as long as you keep up with maintenance and choose a conservative tune, it's completely safe. I've put 10,000 miles on my car with the stage 1 tune and haven't had any issues. Also, in the case of the 340i, it shares the same engine as the new Supra, but the BMW is tuned from the factory to prioritize fuel efficiency over power. So you can increase the power via tuning, while still being within the power and torque range that the engine was designed to handle.

Or could have just bought a car with those options already installed lol... Saves time and money especially on the used market the prices of cars with or without certain options, especially interior/tech upgrades is marginal or none. Y'all if you're looking for a car don't settle! Keep looking for the perfect one that has the options you want. There are so many cars out there, especially F30s now!
Aftermarket add-ons are so much better, because most of the packages include things you dont even need. I'll be using BimmerTech for a couple changes and my local owned shop for lightning, heated seats etc, because its cheaper, comes with a warranty, and will last longer than having to eventually replace after purchase on a used car.
@@TaylorMMontgomery So how long do you want people to keep looking. For over 12 months back in the days I was dying to find a white F10 with beige interior and B&O. Never found it. So why cant a person just buy one without all the options and just go ahead and upgrade instead. Its actually fun customizing your own car.
My other option was to just order a new car with all options needed about 80K sticker price which I clearly didn't have money for

Hey bryan, do you guys install m-sport steering wheels and retrofit paddle shifters for customers? I have a 2015 320i xdrive with the base wheel and wanted to see if you guys would do that? Can't find a steering wheel anywhere that is compatible with my model and know you guys stopped selling them a while backz
Also money's not an issue, I'd just need to know if you guys could have that done for me and I'd definitely come to you guys to have it done, and was definitely looking into having new rims installed also. Probably would wanna do it before winter though
Is this BootMod available for 2009 e90 328i sedan?
Be careful with these tunes. They all work the same way. They turn off over-boost protection, anti-knock, and defeat engine timing pull. So yes you get more power but the reliability margin is now non-existent and the engine can’t protect itself. It’s okay if you understand the trade offs. Don’t do this if your car is under warranty.
Why I recommend going for an AC Schnitzer box because not only do they work with BMW techs, but it still stays under warranty.

Jesus christ, it's the worst thing you could do with your car. You just downloaded a map from the internet and put it in that car. You don't really who made this tune and what's changed. It can be dangerous to your engine - if somebody took off the limiters it will sooner or later destroy your engine. Even when the software isn't that bad every car is different, you can have more or less % of error on MAF reading or anything else. Your AFR can be waaaaay off and if the car run lean you can just burn your engine... Poeple just NEVER do things like this. Go to your local tuner and get a proper tune that suits your car.

I am one of few who over-use it if that's possible. I'm on 2 wheels alot and I get really torqued by people who don't use them, I've had several near misses from lane changes with no signal.

I'd be interested in knowing how much increase in intake temperature has happened as a result of the tune. It is pretty evident that the stock intercooler isn't up to the task after a few hard pulls. This isn't a good mod unless you're also doing supporting mods and your turbocharger life is going to be shorter as it is forced to spin way above its specific threshold.

The reason I usually dont state the price in the actual video is because they can change a lot over time, especially software products like this. And I dont want the video to become outdated due to an incorrect or old price. The software license to do what we showed in the video currently costs $595
What people don't consider, when you tune a car you also have to upgrade hardware components. With more hp comes more strain on the whole system. If you don't, the life span of the car will shorten.
Got my F30 1.6i optimized a year ago, i went from 136 HP and 220 Nm to 240 HP and 340 Nm by just changing software, no chip no nothing was used. I also updated the software of the gearbox wich helps a lot in better shifting with the extra HP's. Drivin' it like this for year without any problems.
Is it the n13 engine with a bootmod3 tune and a gearbox Xhp tune?
Those "spy gear" things are GPS trackers , their used when vehicles are being financed just incase the person decides not to pay and goes MIA we know where to repo the car
So basically homeboy has some bad credit and is about to get a call from the finance company wondering why the device has been turned off.
We looked up the company’s website. This type of tracking device is used for fleet vehicles to monitor driver behavior and to make sure the vehicle isn’t being used for personal use. It makes sense because this car was previously a lease
@@justinbuice They should have informed the owner or asked him to come in so they could remove their devices though. Quite sure they could still track him after he took the car over from lease 😮

As a previous E90 owner how does the steering/road feel compare to your current F30?
Also I thought B58s don’t need to upgrade the charge pipe, just the N55s
When we were out there we added a strut brace and it actually made a big difference in the steering feel. It’s still not the same as the E90, but it’s not a dealbreaker. After a while I got used to it, especially after I sold the E90 and wasn’t driving them both back to back.
As far as the charge pipes, maybe it’s too soon to tell if the B58’s need the upgrade, but I’d guess there’s some benefit changing from plastic to aluminum

I just bought a 2013 335i and definitely wanna get it tuned. My buddy who had a heavily modded bmw said I should invest in a chargepipe,downpipe, and an intake before I get it tuned. Just wanted to get your opinion.
All great suggestions. The most important is the charge pipe. That’s all you need for stage 1. Intake and downpipe will help performance, but so will an intercooler. That will prevent the heat soak that was lowering their torque every run

That car wad either a rental, or the loan company put those devices in the car in the event of non payment. They can track the car and disable the vehicle to repo the vehicle easily

Nice hub dyno. I'm not 100% convinced of their static accuracy due to a few obvious factors, the torque output is centrally coupled. I'm curious, if the dimensions of the tire and rim and the total distribution of the rotating mass of the wheel assembly are taken into account, as well as what has to be done to the opposite side hub on a limited slip or open differential, and what effect it has on the power output dynamics?
Just wondering, if those Red lights @2:18 for the shoot or it that also some sort of an interior lightning mod?

I bought it from an independent dealership. BMW dealerships sell way above the book value

Hey Justin we are looking at a Bootmod for our F31 330i and contacted Kies. Fo you know if the tunes are deemed perfectly safe long term for your motor ? I haven't had confirmation of this?
That spireon should’ve definitely been hooked up elsewhere. It’s usually a safe bet to install them using power and ground from the 12V accessory port. I’ve seen guys hook them up to all kinds of places though, including the radio and headlight circuit, and it always causes problems.

A 340i should have around 340 HP of I'm correct?
Why is it so far off?
300 hp at the wheel. You have to add the transmission losses that are around 15-20% . 340hp at the crankshaft means around 290 hp at the wheel

It's not just horse power, your torque numbers are wrong as well. It's not a difficult math problem to solve, add the three and then divide by 3.
Is this available for BMW MINI 2006 r53 MCS ? , Because thats almost a magical tune and easy peasy. Im 168 factory now 210 with bolt on mods sounds like this tune might add to mine around 50hp give take

Its not really the tune, but its more than these B58 motors are VERY undertuned from the factory. BMW can easily get 450HP out of this engine, safely. There's good reason the internals are forged.

As someone extremely new to mods, if I do the stage one on my '13 328ix sport, does it mess with smog? Should I flash back to stock tune before smog? I live in CA.

car was probably financed by a buy here pay here or something at one point and the gps was installed to disable the vehicle if payment was not received.

The new one has better hpfp but yeah 90% the same it's also a B58.
Was the same with the late E9x 3 series though and first years of F3x 3 series all having an N55 so it is not that mindblowing lol.
Make sure everyone knows that doing this while under warranty will void your warranty. The only company that can flash the ecu without voiding warranty is Dinan.

That's a programmable gauge. In that shot it's showing boost pressure. My next video will have a detailed installation guide for it

Any concerns about the longevity of the engine and associated components now that the car is tuned way beyond factory specs/design?
The engine can take it all stock maps are always really safe
The engine is okay, the horsepower is coming from increasing CO2 numbers which were tried to be decreased by the manufacturer. The engine is in it's natural habitat after the tunes
Still got my pre-lci E90. Wish it was available. Still sticking around though.
