Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much for helping me to know that it is okay to not have perfect things to say, but just focus on how you live your life. I have several people in my family who have left the church, and the gospel means so much to me, but I have not felt to talk a lot about the gospel around them, but to focus on how I am living my own life and trying to live the best version of myself. But I have felt guilty in not proclaiming to them more, and have been hard on myself, telling myself I am ashamed of the gospel. But the truth is that I do not believe it would actually do good to proclaim the gospel to them that are angry with it. Watching this has made me feel so much better.

I think that the Holy Spirit can put into our minds and hearts in a general sort of way, about maybe in what we can share about anything. I think he does that just to illustrate a principle. I have had that happen…I think just now, that truth in the scriptures came to my mind. Again, like he indicates, example is the best teacher. We all need to strive to be better. I almost ALWAYS like to share truths I have learned from leaders, like apply one to something. That happens to me a lot, too, when I read the Book of Mormon. The water was, transported to another place, so that the ground was dry. Even so as Christ STEPPED into the ship, the ship also wad transported to another place, for the ship was moved at once to where they would dock.
God has proven that he doesn’t need an institution, or people telling us how to do things. Jesus Christ has an individual relationship with each of his sons! And salvation and the relationship with Christ is personal , he wants us to have a relationship with him every day not once a week or at a certain building or religion
@@melissabodily3675completely incorrect, people who had gone through NDE’s and met Jesus had asked this very same Question about which church to go to or join? End of quote by Jesus. Read the book my encounter with Jesus in the gates of heaven. Is all there ! And after he came back to life he was a full believer of Jesus Christ and even Jesus told him to bare testimony of his experience in heaven and commanded him to write 3 books. With all due respect but the Mormon apostles they have never seen Jesus face to face.
I think that’s just a difference in understanding. You say God has given proof for no need of religion. The LDS faith has scripture with God saying differently. It makes complete sense you would think differently.
Psalm 111:1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ---------- From the Word of God, church is important for strengthening His children, and taking the sacrament (remembering His flesh and blood shed for our sins) 🙏🏼💜

"What we do is more important than what we may write or say"...thank you for clarifying this. Unfortunately, that is not in the church's favor- there are many examples of this dissonance between what the church says and actually does.

It's great to hear from the leadership of the church. I wish that what he was saying was true. Ask the people who live in the towns that have been threatened by the church with lawsuits because the town won't let them build a temple? Ask them how Christ like the church's lawyers are when threatening to sue the town into bankruptcy because the church won't abide by the zoning laws? Be a good neighbor is what we are supposed to be. Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act is the weapon of the church.
Just curious but, is it true that joseph smith said that black people and skin is the mark of cain and that we refused to fight with God during some battle and that's why our skin is dark
Hi @Lazyofficial866, thanks for your question. Latter-day Saint scripture and teachings affirm that God loves all of His children and makes salvation available to all. The Book of Mormon teaches that all are alike unto God: "(The Lord) inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile." (2 Nephi 26:33). Church leaders today unequivocally condemn all racism, past and present, in any form. The Church disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else. Hi Daniel, I’m sorry it sounds like you didn’t have a great experience in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Remember when the Arch of the Covenant was born in travel. That when they came to a stream or river. That as the foremost was about to STEP into the water. The water was, transported to another place, so that the ground was dry.
Even so as Christ STEPPED into the ship, the ship also wad transported to another place, for the ship was moved at once to where they would dock.
Your English grammar isn't written correctly.
And Jesus replied… I don’t care about a religion that’s not important to me, I want you to have a relationship with me every day not once a day but 365 days a year, and Be kind to the poor. End of quote by Jesus. Read the book my encounter with Jesus in the gates of heaven. Is all there ! Written by an Indian man. none Christian believer at the time of his passing. who met Jesus at the time of his passing. He was dead for 3 days. His name is Santosh Acharjee, yet he described Jesus the same way as the apostles of the old times! And after he came back to life he was a full believer of Jesus Christ and even Jesus told him to bare testimony of his experience in heaven and commanded him to write 3 books. With all due respect but the Mormon apostles they have never seen Jesus face to face.
@@melissabodily3675 salvation is through Jesus Christ not through any religion or denomination
Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

From the Word of God, church is important for strengthening His children, and taking the sacrament (remembering His flesh and blood shed for our sins)

Do me a favor to those watching the guy talking with the green tie, make your screen bigger and tell me what you see in his eyes and neck area. Freeze the picture and look.
What do you mean? The man with the green tie is elder Bednar, an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is filled with light and love. I would hope that all people can personally meet an Apostle to look him in the eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul.
"What we do is more important than what we may write or say"...thank you for clarifying this. Unfortunately, that is not in the church's favor- there are many examples of this dissonance between what the church says and actually does.
I think that's why they have routine meetings.

@travismarin2595 no, not the thought process.
I need some polishing😉

The Church disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else. i could be wrong but it was originally Brigham Young that said that. Doesn't matter, it's a horrible teaching either way.
Glad to be free of the church.

Never found value in a member of the church from Daniel Troen
Hi Daniel, I’m sorry it sounds like you didn’t have a great experience in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members of the church are far from perfect, and I can understand if it seemed like there was no value gained at church or that others didn’t value you. I can testify that Jesus Christ always knows our infinite worth. And His restored Church was given authority (through prophets/apostles) to provide the ordinances we need to reach our divine potential. Yes, most of our learning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ should occur individually and in families at home, but we also need others to grow and progress.
If there are mistakes, they are the mistakes of men.
