- "Town Hall: A Black Queer Podcast" dives into the topic of truth and consequences. Join Peppermint and Bob the Drag Queen as they explore the ramifications and punishments Black queer people often face when honest about their experiences in the workplace, at home, and in society. This episode features interviews with Gene Gragg (@pepsi_jenner), a Black and non-binary individual from San Francisco’s Lower Haight district, who shares the consequences of political protest as a Black queer person, and Nate (@_bandidobae), an army veteran turned advocate and real estate professional, who recounts his military service and discharge under the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

Peppermint ❤❤ the ring light will not take away the light of your eyes!!
That’s just her inner glow THAT WILL NOT BE CONTAINED
I love Bob and Peppermint so much. Everything they do brings me such joy.
Peppermint looks absolutely stunning!
off topic, but i just have to say peppermint looks so beautiful and i love her glasses. i've been needing new ones and i think i'll have to get some frames like that. love this podcast series and you both! ❤❤
i stopped wearing my glasses in middle school but they looked just like hers a+
Peppermint looking like an angel ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m so happy to see you again, Bob. I hope you’re doing well.
A lot of comments toward the top that aren't talking about the important parts: Love the messaging, love featuring black queer individuals and sharing their stories, this is super real and I'm glad that other people (even out of my immediate circles) are talking about the problems in America (and by extension the world).
Love this content Bob/Pep, fantastic conversation.
When Pep mentioned that woman telling Ms Crockett to calm down, I wanted to add that she also called Ms Crockett “out of control” and it just felt super racist.
I would love to come on episodes like this!!! I’m a National Champion competive dancer, Stand-up Comedian, and drag queen who’s lived in every corner of Texas. I’m 27 and I’ve been on stages here since I was 14. I’ve been socially transitioned for 6 years, and started my medical transition about a year ago. There’s been an abundance of different experiences throughout my entertainment career in Texas, prior/currently before I’ve broken into the big screen or zeitgeist. Hope to hear from you soon!!!
Phoenix Provocateur ❤️🔥💋❤️🔥💋
I'm still watching but so far I really appreciate Gene's story and advice. They're awesome!
EDIT: Both fantastic guests. Nate, you now have thousands more people rooting for you to keep healing and being your wonderful self.
I truly appreciate the experiences shared with us. These individuals are so powerful
I'll preface this by saying Peppermint has always been stunning, but Miss Peppermint just looks more and more gorgeous every time I see her on my screen.
Not to leave Bob out this look is fantastic too, and then they throw in the intellectuals and wisdom … some people just don't know how good we've got it at the moment.
Do we desperately need improvements?
Absolutely.
Are things marginally better than they were in the past?
Absolutely.
I'm so glad we have people like this trying to progress the conversation xx
Thank you for doing this in PRIDE
❤
🏳️🌈
we miss you on the pod bob!!!
I'm confused: did he say why he's not doing Sibling Rivalry right now?
@@vinnym5607 His mom died.
@@paytonpryor I know and if Bob took time off for everything, it would make sense.
@@vinnym5607 It's not like he has PTO he can use. He still has to pay his bills. That's the only thing I can come up with.
First comment! Love you Bob you're an inspiration! ❤
Peppermint! Beautiful, smart, shining star❤
I also don’t mind people in pajamas in public either but my parents disagree and always try and shame me for it
Oh no Bobs back early. I guess he didn’t make it far on traitors 😢
They shoot that in like a week
Love you both Peppermint and Bob but the comments regarding to Jasmine Croquett really take away to the whole point of the your video. Such a disservice to a strong black voice in Congress and you both didn't care to know (or edit) what her position is which is not a senator. You failed to give the context of that interaction, which was that MTG attacked Jasmine and AOC then wanted her reprimanded but the Republican in charge didn't do anything so Jasmine asked well if I say this "...bleach blonde..." is this allowed? So she never really attacked Marjorie directly but intelligently was proving a point that making body attacks shouldn't be allowed. It seems both of you didn't care to learn the situation or her explanation and you're basically shutting her down and also being misleading into what happened and how she was acting.
I recently watched a video, I think it might have been Matt Baume's and it was about this group of protestors who would disrupt TV programs that refused to show gays as good characters or cut gay storylines etc., and how their group got a lot of attention at first, but they also needed to learn to deal directly with TV execs and studio employees who could actually put their demands into place. Pep is right- it takes a mixture of respectability and disruption to get change made
Not Bob swears Rep Crockett is a senator lol
Yes, the white ladies walked around with their rollers in their hair. My mom did.
I'm conflicted about Amanda Seals but I agree about the Club Shay Shay part.
Pep always looks amazing but damn she is stunning. Lawdy
Second comment! Love you Peppermint, keep spreading love😍
Just wanted to interject quickly that the wonderful Representative Jasmine Crocket (sp?) is a member of the House, not a senator. She's a Democrat from the state of Texas. Also want to add that I saw red when they gave Representative Crocket the angry black woman treatment. Literally, text book racist angry black woman treatment caught on film. SMH...
Pep - you look beautiful! Bob - complete respect!
Peppermint Marjory is literally built like a Newport box .. don’t pi$$ me off 🥴
Peppermint is getting finer by the day ❤
Peppermint OMG so gorgeous! WOW, I might be straight!
auntie pep!
GENEEE!!! ❤️❤️❤️
As a white woman, it’s bizarre to me when white people (when discussing the n-word with er or a) say “it’s not racist for white people to use it” or in general defend other white people’s racist language. First of all, yes it is. Don’t say it. It’s really easy to drop that ish from your vocabulary. I promise. Second of all, I grew up processing (sometimes unintentional) racism from my family and community. Because of being called out for my racist, problematic, and harmful statements and behavior throughout my life, I’m now a better person and better able to fully stand by other people regardless of our differences. They didn’t owe me that, but they gifted me with their time and knowledge, and I’m better for it. My point for white people is calm down, ease up on the defensiveness, and take a minute to listen. Other people around you are going to feel better, but you’re going to feel better as well.
i think people are more angry about the fact that people who used the word back when nobody cared are being made to seem like they are literally BAD PEOPLE and their potential careers are literally on the line bc of the cancel culture that comes along with that
What I don’t understand about “don’t ask don’t tell” is if you’re not supposed to ask, nor tell then how could you try to dishonorably discharge someone when they were silent the whole time. I’m glad it’s gone but that’s some real shady mess.
They literally tried to stone him, they became the literal thing they tried to go fight in the middle east?
God bless this video. God bless Bob God bless peppermint God bless the editing crew. But I fell asleep three times watching this video. God bless.
a lot to think about
We love you
❤
Peppermint is a woman 😍
💗💗💗💗💗💗♥♥♥♥♥♥💗💗💗💗
She’s a representative. Not a senator
After guilting multiple queens for not openly supporting BLM, why haven’t either of you made public statements on your stance over the situation in Gaza?
@ 13:48 Bob is looking for the word integrate, not assimilate.
Pep really said: let me serve the girlies real quick
Peppermint serving office siren period
Lmao there are 34 comments so far and 80% of them are some version of "Peppermint you're so pretty." It's very true but like where's the love for Bob's bald serve? The earrings are the perfect touch. You're both beautiful. Physically and spiritually. Thank you for taking on heavy topics like this one. ❤
RIGHT!
I agree Peppermint. Representative Crockett was absolutely right for calling that human out for the hatred she constantly spews out. 100%. The thing is there’s so much to call her out on and so many poignant ways to do it. No need for Representative Crockett to discuss her body. With all that being said, get her hate speech and senseless harm to people because she has an unnecessary platform off my timeline, and thank you for getting us one step closer to that, Representative Crockett.
50:21 From sideline looking at the situation. I completely understand what Peppermint was saying. All of the progresses that were made are being overturned, when we were hoping to fight to make more progress, instead of just regaining what we had.
Amanda Seales receives a lot of backlash because people are reacting to her behavior, or rather not putting up with a rude attitude. There is testimony from people who worked with And for her and for some reason it seems to be ignored. Although I respect her as an intellect, scholar, and philanthropist I do think she should be nicer to the people around her because people are allowed to not like someone. Clearly she has habits of not being as kind as what she demands from other people. If you look hard enough, you can find peoples stories and understand why people are starting to not like her. I can imagine if she treats her employees that way she treats her peers similarly. This is something that does not align with the persona she is trying to demand from other people. I still love Amanda Seales but I can recognize other peoples input.
miss peppermint looks so gorgeous, like wow. the duality of woman is unmatched! we can be both stunningly beautiful and astutely spoken in regards to difficult topics. love to see it. ❤️
Not Bob not knowing civics 😭. The gag of the season lol.
Right
Bob has been an activist for decades
@@ghinalikki It’s obviously a joke. Sorry it went over your head lol.
💜✨💜
would love to see one of you debate these subjects with someone. For example, Amala Ekpunobi.
Thank you for your work ❤❤❤
It was very strange seeing you appear on AS9, in denim, sans jokes, sans intent, sans context. Is this Ru Paul’s way of saying “ folk you for getting a gig with Madonna, when I really wanted that in the ‘90’s,…and madonna never came on my show,…and who is madonna nowadays when Michelle is as good as”. Ru Paul has a very long memory. I’m not sure what the background to any of this is, but geez Bob, your optics had bad lighting.
Girl, you’re literally looking at yourself in the playback- adjust the light. I can’t watch because of the glare from your glasses. Bob coulda said something.
THE BEAUTY!
1:21:47 wow thank you for informing us and speaking the truth, your life
Holy moly, Peppermint, you are so beautiful. I can’t take it!
wow peppermint is gorgeous!! i neeeeed her skincare/makeup routine!
Oh hell nah!!😆🤣👎🏽. The internet is trippin!!
Yess omg peppermint the librarian
Is it not ironic to be anti-colonial and feature a US army veteran?
Peppermint is so beautiful! You are so gorgeous!
Amanda Seales on The Real kinda ate down 💅😌✨
Also ridiculous saying MTG doesn't get pushback. She is literally hated by every one. I don't know.. Peppermint sometimes just says shit without really knowing enough about what she talks about. Like how much time did she really spend watching hearings other than what she sees on clips on tiktok....
When MTG commented on Jasmine Crockett's eyelashes, it wasn't put on official record despite her and AOC requesting it. There was massive pushback from Republicans both inside and outside the building against holding MTG responsible for her own actions in any way. That's what Peppermint means MTG doesn't get any pushback - just because people online hate her doesn't mean shit when she doesn't get pushback in any true meaningful way.
@@NonIntrovertial right? thank you for saying this. like, has she been censured? no (not even after that resolution last november). has she faced any other consequences? no. pushback from your circle online is not meaningful. she's only going to be hit where it hurts if it comes from other people in government, and that's not happening, and that's what peppermint correctly identified.
