Peppermint gets more and more beautiful. Aging SO gracefully ❤
First off, thank you so much to Bob, Peppermint, all the speakers, and the production team for bringing this wonderful discussion to your platform!! I dont think I'm exaggerating when I say listening to this helped me out of a mid-afternoon spiral. Theres just something so calming about hearing the thoughts you've had haunting your mind for yearssssss, just be spoken and discussed out loud, with no judgement attached. I love the variety of experiences yall share. Even if there are points I dont personally relate to, hearing another perspective really helps put some of my personal worries at ease. Where I live, having these kinds of talks is difficult, even with the best of intentions. Listening to yall speak help me feel not so crazy in my corner of the world. Love and light ❤
Peppermint voice: rAcE?!😂❤ But in all seriousness Happy pride y'all!! I also fucked with Mavis beacon Bob!!! She was the first black lady as a little Black kid to teach me how to type and do groceries ❤😂😂😂
How does BOB have time for all these gigs? He was with Madonna, now hes on the Traitors, hes going on a solo comedy tour and lets not forget that he is in mourning ! Kuddos to a hardworking individual !
Thank you for shouting out C Maddox! Biiiiiittttccchhh! RIP to a queen. Great conversation, signed a black girl with kinky hair owning her beautiful
A gay 80s gay corn star had to lie and say he was white even though he was Hispanic so it's wild what you have to do to TRY and even AVOID colorism
Was he a white Hispanic?
I've never heard of that, what's his name? Was he fair skinned? How did he hide that for so long?
🎉This is from Wikipedia bob on Mavis beacon: ""The model chosen to be the face of Mavis was Haitian-born Renée L'Espérance, who was discovered working behind the perfume counter at Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills by former talk-show host and partner at The Software Toolworks Les Crane in 1985,"
The model chosen to be the face of Mavis was Haitian-born Renée L'Espérance, who was discovered working behind the perfume counter at Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills by former talk-show host and partner at The Software Toolworks Les Crane in 1985. Mavis's name comes from a combination of Mavis Staples (one of the software developer's favorite singers) and the word beacon (an allusion to her role as a guide to typing)
Grateful to hear light shined on Sinterklaus, a terrible racist holiday tradition. In Rhinebeck & Kingston in NY's Hudson Valley region, there are still yearly Sinterklaus parades despite public outcry which is really tragic.
ms peppermint is beyond gorgeous ♡
Bishhh . The way I just screamed learning that Bob will be on Traitors 3 . He is literally my favorite drag queen personality . So clever so witty . It’ll be worth watching just cuz Bob is there ( I am praying he is a traitor )
I thought Peppermint was light-skinned, but it’s interesting to learn that she is not actually. Speaking of, they both have very youthful skin, black really don’t crack!
missing bob over at sibling rivalry ❤
Yes, Morris Day!!! Bob, you gotta see Purple Rain.
First saw Peppermint on Traitors and they did not do her justice - love the brilliance!
when are we getting peppermint back in playing video games !!! pleaseeee
I havn't seen Peppermint in a while. She looks so different.
Aww CMaddox! I miss CMaddox so much! That was amazing surprise to hear on here.
We gotta work on the lag. The talking over one another is too overstimulating for me lmao
4:35 Love the Madonna praise 💐💯🎉
Peppermint looks so good!!! ❤
Mavis Beacon was that gworl. Typing classes were that!
I FORGOT ABOUT MAVIS BEACON 😅
Love you Bob & Peppermint ❤
Thank you for your work ❤
Loved this episode! Very insightful to hear the impact of the blm movement outside of just the U.S, and I truly believe open dialogue like this will minimize diaspora wars going forward
A few of us actually got to the end of mavis beacon...we were shocked.
i was literally starting to think mavis beacon was a mandela effect bc no one remembers her
i was so gagged when bob brought that shit up💀💀
Yes, Peppermint does look stunning in every color! ❤
Peppermint is serving a Senegalese woman going to a wedding
Loved all these guests. I neeeeeeeed to hear Alexia's story at least once a week. She is so right about all the things! THANK YOU, Alexia 🖤🤎
Cute when is part two coming out with darkskin people who speak about their experiences
Not Bob bringing up two tone lips! I thought I was the only one that loved it!
My Mother experienced colorism in her family and outside, and I'm thankful she didn't internalize it to the extent that she expressed the same negative sentiments to me. A darker skin black woman.
The Fetishization of the dark black man and the light black woman... HISTORY!
peppermint is so beautiful
Ok so my very first thought when this shit opened up was
OoOoZEMPIC!
MAVIS BEACON!!! Bob that was deep reference thank you
Oh my goshhh Mavis Beacon taught me to type!!!!!!!

So glad Bobs gonna be on Traitors. Defend Miss Peppermints honor bcus the phobes were so bothered and sent her home first for NO reason at all.
Mavis Beacon and Ghostwriter have definitely met
Peppermint seems to be dis bumbled having hard time talking
Talk about palestine
💜✨💜
Stop saying "latin-ex". It's LATINE.
OMG Peppermint is looking like an actual GODDESS
Not Peppermint saying she isn't lightskin and literally looking whiter than any European who just went to Spain for 2 weeks. AND then she also says she should use sunscreen. Girl bye.
LMAOOOOOOO!!!! The way I’m cackling right now is so unmasculine, ROTFL!!!😩😩😩😆😆🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭 I’ve never seen a one-man draggin’ before! Hah!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Where I’m from when people say light skin they are really saying mixed, as in black and something else. Not saying that’s the correct or only way to use it, just common in my experience. That must also be the usage Pep is familiar with and why she, a child of two black people, doesn’t think of herself as light skin.
People that still say they have " jungle fever" nowadays irritate me
That is so so cringey. 😅
I still sing the theme from the movie sometimes, ngl Stevie Wonder ate that shit uuuupppppp 😂😂
The thumbnail alone got me excited, and I haven't even watched the video yet lol I love these two and I especially love hearing Bob speak on anything.
bob doing another video on colorism🤨 with PEPPERMINT 🥳
I remember Mavis Beacon!! Thanks for this podcast, I learned a lot. The guest speakers were great.
I am so SO HAPPY bob talked about the drag artist C Maddox!! I grew up watching her drag queen make-up videos so I'm happy someone else can talk about their greatness RIP C MADDOX 🎉❤❤
Loving seeing the love in the comments for C Maddox too ❤ I grew up watching her too and think about her so often I’m glad she’s still in people’s hearts and memories
I’ve been hearing a lot of bad things about Amsterdam. We should have known they were problematic aft rear they arrested Nicki
I love Mavis, Black Icon, she taught me typing!!
I haven't heard Mavis Beacon since college!
Colorism is a disgusting and unfortunately part of everyday life, especially for people of color. Growing up as a light skinned Black girl, I was seen as White, even though I have NEVER identified as White. I've always thought of myself as Black. It was to the point where I have been called White to my face by darker skinned Black people, especially in Haiti, where my family's from. And my family is a broad spectrum of skin tones, from the lightest of the light to the darkest of the dark. I've even been told that I need some sun in some instances. And in Haiti, there's been a long and complex history regarding 'pure' Black Haitians and mulattos (those with French ancestry). I'm glad that colorism was the topic of discussion because people of color, regardless of skin tone, light skinned or dark skinned, go through it in many ways.
Lightskinned people do not experience colourism. That's like saying white people experience racism.
1:39 Peppermint, you're flawless 😍
Shout out CMaddox biitch thought of her immediately and gasped when you said her name. Love and miss that amazing queen.
I wonder if Bob finds dark skin guys attractive enough to date? alien conspiracy theorist say no🎉
That’s so funny I just rewatched the Babadook yesterday
black does not come in all shades...mixed race comes in all shades
Ooohey ooohey oh!
53:06 your lips are beautiful Bob 🥰
Colorism is sooo Mean Girls and so tired. .RACE IS NOT A CHOICE.
32 years... and never knew Mavis Beacon was black 🫣
It’s crazy how true this is. I’m half Filipino and can get pretty tan and used to swim and play water polo. My Lola always would say how dark I was and my friend even asked if I’m wearing sunscreen like getting tan was bad?.
Getting tan is bad for your skin. Tanning is a stress response to protect the skin. Everyone should including brown and black people wear sunblock if they wanna protect their skin from UV damage.
Éire sure look.... 🇨🇮
peppermint looks tf good, as always, but is also aging in reverse!
thank y'all so much for doing this podcast episode, it brought up a lot of emotions for me and i feel like a LOT of people need to hear these points of views. thank u thank u thank u !
I remember using Mavis beacon to learn how to type. It didn't work, I still can't type. I believe it's my ADHD and dyslexia. It's the worst
Bob!! I homeschooled myself using Mavis Beacon products when I was 12-14 lmaooooo literally no one ever knows wtf that is.
But also htf do you know that but not who MORRIS DAY is!?? My God 😮
cant wait to watch but home come y'all post at 6, 5 central? what does the algorithm know that we dont?
