Clive is very much still performing,i saw him last month in the north east of England,he is still sounding and looking as good as ever,i had a long chat with him and his wife, lovely people, jolie is still alive with clive
Very good, and one of the best, but I find that most Jolson impersonators, like at lot of Elvis impersonators tend to "overdo" it a bit. Personally I think Norman Brooks was the absolute best. Also, people only ever tend to impersonate his Decca/40s period - Perhaps thats because it's the most "easiest" or recognisable voice? I much prefer Jolson's younger voice from the 20s and 30s.
Actually I disagree. In my view most impersonators attempt to emulate Jolson's 1920's style voice as opposed to the later Decca style which actually brings me to my main point. The main difference in Clive Baldwin and Jolson impersonators - such as Norman Brooks - is that Clive Baldwin is not impersonating Jolson. As someone who has known Clive Baldwin personally, I can vouch that what you hear on this clip is his very own 24/7 talking/singing voice!
What do you mean, it is up to me??? I have studied Jolson for over thirty years and I will willingly bet that in reality you sound nothing like Jolson or indeed Clive Baldwin - now you prove me wrong!

He could have played the part of al jolson back in the day instead of Larry park and used his own voice he is that good
They couldn't hold out another 4 seconds to let him finish the damn song? Lol

In all seriousness, if your dad really can sing better or at least sound more like jolson than this guy then I would love to hear him.
If you really can sound more like Jolson than this guy then I sure would love to hear you. Why not upload a recording of yourself to RUclips??
