    I found this to be more directed toward laptops... My suggestion is that you go with, at minimum, an 8-core 16-thread CPU like Ryzen 2700x or I9 9900K, and go with either a Vega 64 or RTX 2080, both of which have 8GB of VRAM. For RAM, 32GB seems to be the sweet spot - but at least 64GB if you plan to use heavy After Effects. Sure, you could buy less and get by okay, but you're going to have to deal with proxies on some formats and such --- and the cost difference really isn't that massive.
    Also, you don't really get to choose rather you want DDR4 or DDR3 ram - your processor selection will determine that; all modern processors like i7s and Ryzens use DDR4 only.

      For 1080 up to 60 fps, that is overkill. But for 4k, your specifications are recommended... Also you need ssds to get quicker access and smaller render times.

    • @FabienMathey
      @FabienMathey 5 лет назад +4

      @Aug 18 any gaming PC or Laptop with the mentioned specs at a minimum is perfect. If it has more, great! You can also buy workstation Laptops or PCs with said specs but they are way more expensive due to more professional type CPU, RAM and GPU. They are not needed for any home made videos.

    I have a desktop computer with an i5-4590, a GTX 1060 6GB, and 12GB of ram. All the parts are relatively old but it edits wonderfully. You definitely don't need the newest shiniest computer parts for editing.
    My CPU has 4 cores and was released in 2013, and my RAM runs at 1600MHz when the current standard is nearly double that now. I have a 500GB SSD and a 1TB HDD, and most of the time I edit footage from the 1TB without issues.
