I knew I clicked on the right video when he said neither PC nor MAC was better... they're just machines.
100% - so many ppl get caught up on that but they're just different video editing computers with different pros & cons
Q
PC is better
Exactly. I hv both but love Mac more. And since I know how to instal Windows on Mac. I can't go anywhere other than Mac. Mac machine design for longer lifetime. Its just awesome machine even tho I love using windows as well..
Bruh... this is the best, most detailed video on YT regarding hardware specs needed to upgrade your computer. You speak to both the experts and the novices. Easy to follow and understand. Thanks man!
I kept seeing your ad when watching other creators on RUclips! Finally had the time to get around to watching your vids and love how clear and cut the content is! I always have so many questions! Thanks for answering them in an efficient way!
You have no idea how thankful I am for this video. I REALLY appreciate you being so straight forward!
Well done! You've demystified the process of putting together specs for a decent editing machine with a very sensible and pragmatic approach. This was very helpful. Thank you very much.
Glad you liked it!
Man this video was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! I feel like this is the only video I need to watch. So informative. And he is a great speaker.
I haven't even finished the video yet and I already hit like. The way you explain and carefully consider every detail that creators should also consider when buying a video editing computer is awesone.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it
Hey, Paul. I like how open minded and relaxed you are towards explaining things.
Hey, thanks! We appreciate the feedback :)
I had your minimum specs before, it takes forever to render at 1080p60. It was an i5 with 16gb ram. Upgraded to a Ryzen 9 and 32gb RAM and never looked back. I fully agree, the time cost by itself is worth the upgrade. Thanks for the validation, just subscribed. Now I’m trying to justify upgrading to a Canon R6 from a 77D.
THE best computer buying video I have ever seen! The way you broke it all down in the “Minimum Specs” part of the video was so helpful.
I literally just went from bumbling around random numbers and specs trying to find a laptop for editing to understanding much more of what I was looking at. Thank you!
Anthony Man I am so impressed with your teaching skills. Enrolled already. Started watching 14 Day Film Maker and enjoying. You deserve millions of subs man. Keep creating😊🙏
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the content my friend.

@@MrPaulXavier You both make great team. Keep sharing your wisdom.
Thank you for being so informative! Very helpful!
As an electronics technologist and PC builder for Flight Simulator enthusiasts, Anthony is right on. Valuable information and very accurate. I agree with him completely. Remember his note about the multi-core systems. I have built 8 core systems only to see a main program only use one core. Maddening. So a 4 core would work better than an 8 core, believe it or not. Let's hope programmers can get with it when they build their software for us. And to keep your investment the longest, buy the most powerful you can afford now so you don't have to upgrade again next year and you can coast for a few years or more. (and yes, SSDs are perfectly fine to use now... all our tablets have them and most laptops now).
Appreciate the feedback my friend!
@@MrPaulXavierwhen you say “most powerful” are you referring to the specs? Or the actually build quality of the computer and components?
This is one of the best videos explaining what you need to look for when thinking of a computer for editing! Thank you.
What a great video! So much clarity of information! Thank you, VERY helpful!!!
Perfect video for the information I was seeking as a "wanna start" in video. I would like to have heard more regarding the motherboard, but understand that a Mac user doesn't have a need to know this stuff.
Really cool video! loved it how mono speech was breaking through cool stereo sequencing track. kinda blended perfectly and made the whole exp better.
Glad you liked it!
This was super helpful! Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
This was perfect. Thank you!
The way you went about MaC and PC just made hit the like and subscribe button the minute you mentioned it.

Went right to the comments when he said that AMD reins now
Fr, AMD CPUs are much better than intel this year

Dude I'm ready to upgrade and this video helped alot
Glad to hear it!
Best video on this subject. It helped me a lot.
Excellent video, just what I needed, New Sub here !
This has been the best video I've watched so far, for what I should look for in a computer for video editing. I have absolutely no idea what all of this stuff is and or does, when it comes to computers. I am about as ignorant as they come when it comes to computers, but this video made it simple to understand. Thanks for simplifying this for a below novice person (me) to understand. I am looking to get started editing family home/vacation videos from a DJI Osmo action, mostly 1080p 60fps for now, but want to learn to play with other options like 4k once I figure out the basics. Also my son (11 yrs old) wants to learn how to make/edit movies/videos (says he wants to work for Marvel). He already is editing stop motion and silly videos he makes on an ipad, but I want to give him something better that he can do more with, so he can upload cool stuff to his youtube channel and learn how to make and edit movies and videos. I started watching tutorial videos and found this awesome simple to follow/understand video. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for the feedback!
This is the best video on this topic I have seen.
Great video!
This is one of those Lectures you save because it tells you what the hell all those Numbers mean,
when buying a specialized laptop. Thank you young man!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great explanation 🤜🤛
The best and more detailed video..worth a sub
Thanks for the sub!
Wow interesting and simple !!!!! Thank bro
Thanks for this info! Would there be any benefit for me getting a Seagate Firecuda 530 4TB Pci 4.0 ($900) over a Sabrent Rocket 4TB PCI 3.0 ($650 )for my media/project files/Dropbox drive? I will also have a separate drive (fast m.2 4.0) for my boot/OS disk, and another drive (fast m.2 4.0) for my cache/scratch files. I want to maximize performance (including scrubbing on the timeline in Davinci), but don’t want to waste $250 if the extra speed from Firecuda will just be wasted.
I’m a professional creator with a good system (5950x, 64gb ram, x570 motherboard, etc.) and I will be editing 4k 30fps footage, with effects such as grading transitions, fusion, sometimes multiple video sources, and b-roll-etc. for RUclips! Thanks for any help!
I'm building a similar machine. I'd advise you to go with 3.0, with a good TBW, for media storages, and HDDs for the archives. Save money to get a midrage NAS. Get some beefy GPUs with enough VRAM, if you can. 4k/6k/8k k doesn't matter. Codec matters. Powerful GPUs will be your ally with highly compressed files.
Thank you.
🙌🏻😊
"Never let gear hold you back from starting..." Best advice! Great video and very solid information.
Glad you liked it!
This was really helpful -- thank you!
Although Macs work great out of the box when configured for high end video and their operating system menus are great to work in, I went with windows and a Dell Windows Pro 11 computer at the high end with their XPS "Content Creator" series mid-tower along with Dell's ultra high definition 27 inch monitors at 100 percent sRGB can be bought for less than a Mac, with similar hardware as some similar spec Macs.
For 4K video you can spec a Dell with GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 12 GB, i7 6 or 8 core processor, 32GB Ram, 512 SSDs, plus second 1TB or 2TB second HD for storing video. Mind you for editing only in HD 1080P, 16GB ram with GPUs at 4GB is sufficient (although 32GB ram is better) , plus SSD 256GB or SSD 512GB drives (I would recommend 512) and second HD for storage is all you need. So yes, Mac or Windows both can do the job for serious editing, if specs are sufficient for the tasks, and Adobe Premiere works on both. Final Cut is Mac only. Your review explains pros and cons very well!! Just wanted to offer readers a windows alternate.
I love this; can you recommend a good 32 GB RAM/8 Core CPU desk or laptop? Thx!
Best video I’ve on computers in forever.
Thanks! We actually have an even more updated version of this video on our channel as well if you want to check it out :)
what a perfect explanation
Awesome presentation!
