It was edited, sound mixed, color graded and rendered on Da Vinci Resolve and the VFX parts on After Effects because I'm too new to Fusion. However, the intro sequence had 500 layers, it would have been MUCH SMARTER to do it inside Fusion, which is not based and not layer based. "
@@AndrewFurmanczyk86 true, thats why I said that.. But your point is personal preference based because not many people know what Fusion is and have been working in after effects for yeaaarrsss you know.. they do these things inside AE because they dont know any program that can do it better. AE should make a change in layer technique and change it into sequences like Fusion.
I always use Ae and have no issues importing those clips into Resolve! You don't need to swallow a vendors koolaid and only drink their products to get the best results and productivity! Don't be a tech-religious zealot, stay open and flexible!
well, still is, after effects is hands down the best tool for creating effects etc, and I think there is still no other software out there that could still be as better than after effects. I think the point of his video is focusing on premiere pro not in general of adobe products.

Best thing you could do - is to tell us how YOU did your intro for this video? ***ANY TUTORIAL***? Maybe for change you would use FUSION. Please LIKE if you want to know too.
I used Final Cut for a video when the X version came around and while it's a great piece of software, it did feel very "prosumer-y", like a beefed up version of iMovie. I'm also not a fan of how you have to buy a plugin to do even basic things like planar tracking.
@@DodaGarcia I agree with your assessment. FCPX is EASY to learn, user-friendly, lots of premade stuff, basically a beefed up iMovie. However, the program feels limited when it comes to many advanced features/animation.
Biggest problem with Resolve is Cache files.. A small project will take more than 70 GB compare to around 1-2 GB of Premiere Pro.. Another one is, After Effects seems to be more easy to learn and better for VFX compositing compared to Fusion.. Render cache option is much better in Premiere Pro.. Switched from Resolve to Premiere Pro..
bruh, did you just say after effects is better for vfx than fusion? No offence but you have no idea what you are talking about, Fusion used to cost $4k before Blackmagic bought the company, it was used to make movies alongside with shake before Nuke became industry standard which was an inhouse software for digital domain. It was actually used in a lot of Hollywood movies where after effects is primarily use for mograph and it was almost never used in feature films, maybe with few exceptions somewhere.
Oh really ? If someday I have time I could try that ! Although learning is always a continuous process, I'm not quite ready I think but I'll consider if it can help.
The more tutorials the better! However please be aware that if you go to Blackmagic’s official RUclips channel they have very lengthy tutorials for every aspect of Davinci Resolve. So don’t ignore that resource!
@@HardDriver3950 To say that "this is the best-produced video I have ever seen on youtube" you either must have not seen enough or be 100% certain of your opinion. I went from no editor, to RUclips editor, to Microsoft movie maker, to kinemaster, and right now I'm at premiere pro. I still prefer premiere but resolve seems nicer when it comes to performance.
I’ve used Premiere for over 20 years and it’s always had stability issues. We used to have to reinstall premiere everyday while the preference files used to get corrupted all the time. I’m looking forward to trying Resolve now. Great videos buddy and love the French accent!
Unfortunately you have to use at work what your idiot boss tells you to use EVEN IF HE KNOWS YOU’RE RIGHT. This applies to not just Resolve 16 but to any software.
Besides the fact that Resolve is better, Blackmagic is improving much faster and at least so far is fair & friendly to customers. OTOH, Adobe is nasty, greedy and even abusive sometimes. I won't tolerate that. Blackmagic + Resolve is a no-brainer.
Damn dude, incredible video! The VFX are insane! I would kill to see a breakdown/tutorial. Did you do all of the VFX in resolve? Or did you use After Effects? Also how long did all the VFX take would you say?
Thank you Bailey ! VFX in After Effects, wish I could do it in Fusion, it would be much much more practical since it's node based, but it's a whole new thing to learn. Much longer than going from Premiere to Resolve for editing I think... one day, who knows ! The VFX in this video literally took two weeks to make, but mostly the intro. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll see if I have some time for this tutorial.
Fusion wasn't really made with motion graphics in mind, though. It can animate text and graphics, but AE or Apple's Motion are much more powerful for that. Fusion shines as a VFX compositor much more than graphics animator. I'd still use AE for that if I were you.
@@TheSmeagol630 I agree with this. Fusion is terrible at motion graphics at the moment but maybe we can wait a year or so before fusion start to catch up to AE and Motion
I have made the switch and am forcing myself to use Fusion though I am infinitely better in AE. I hope newer versions make it more intuitive. Especially to get developers to make plugins.
My biggest reasons for leaving Adobe. No requirement (once downloaded) to ever go on the transparent and insecure internet with my powerhouse computer. I buy the program (and at a very reasonable price), not rent it. And the colour page is simply amazing.
Ray Acosta FXHOME’S ignite pro is a life saver. Adds an amazing amount of VFX to be used in DaVinci Resolve such as lightsaber plugins and glows and a lot more.
Very, very good overview. One note: Timecode sync is still a little spotty with some non-BMD cameras where audio is not recorded until a few frames into the recording. Hopefully BMD can fix this. But I've been very happy overall with Resolve, at least with the color, edit, and fairlight pages. Good for "full stack" video creators. Maybe not the best for specialists other than colorists.
@@Tutorialesplay Hello Curtis, love your channel it's a honor to read your comment :) I only have BM cameras so I didn't know that, in which case you need to go through the whole Tentacle studio suite. The Fairlight audio implementation should not be taken lightly. Fairlight is the company that made the Fairlight CMI (Short for Computer Musical Instrument) - the first ever digital audio workstation. This is the company that started the revolution of digital audio editing, rather than using tape machines, and they did so in the 1970s. Today we have Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, etc, and while they are not built on Fairlight software, the Fairlight CMI is their great grandfather, metaphorically speaking. As if the Fairlight modules weren't enough, the Fairlight section of DaVinci Resolve also allows the use of VST plugins, so sound guys like myself can bring the tools they know and love into it without having to make roundtrips in and out of the video editor! Blackmagic gets all of my praise. Also, great video, and high-quality edits, Mr. Zebra!

This videos feels like a damn launch trailer for a product by the way he edited it. I'm going to assume that he spent a lot of hours editing the video
Plot twist: he edited the intro thing in after effects.
At first I thought you were joking, but then read the description.... haha wow.
"The video was shot with an URSA Mini Pro and a Sigma 50mm ART lens. B-Roll mostly with the BMPCC 4K.
Haha

The more I use FinalCut and Resolve, the more I hate Premiere.

Switched from Resolve to Premiere Pro..
yeah a 1440p 40-50 minute video took 30gb without ANY vfx or special efffecs, if they can fix that i would edit more frequently
bruh, did you just say after effects is better for vfx than fusion? No offence but you have no idea what you are talking about, Fusion used to cost $4k before Blackmagic bought the company, it was used to make movies alongside with shake before Nuke became industry standard which was an inhouse software for digital domain. It was actually used in a lot of Hollywood movies where after effects is primarily use for mograph and it was almost never used in feature films, maybe with few exceptions somewhere.
Would love to see your complete editing tutorial in Resolve. Don't care how long it would be, I'll watch it.

@@zebrazonePlease, even a short tutorial on some of the VFX... Insane level, would take me forever...
@@TheSmeagol630 I agree with this. Fusion is terrible at motion graphics at the moment but maybe we can wait a year or so before fusion start to catch up to AE and Motion

DaVinci has Enfusion. Maybe not as robust but it is all in one single piece of software rather than having to keep jumping back and forth. I enjoy it.

Zebra!
