Currently in depression for almost 3 months now but definitely hit rock bottom these past 3 weeks and my sugar combustion was at its peak. I was definitely feeding my depression. Exactly accurate, wait gain of course, sugar crash, more depression, always hungry, brain satisfaction. Im going to quit sugar for a while until i get a healthy relationship with it. Hey a question maybe you can help me. I was under the impression that amylase was an enzyme that begins the breakdown of starch in masticatiob. That being said I know also starch is a carbohydrate that it's end product is a 6 carbon glucose
molecule but never heard it of breaking down glucose and frictose. So amylase? There are multiple types? If you don't know that's fine but this video confused me a little

It's good that you pointed out the recent data showing the harmful effects of saccharin, but everything you said about how sugar can disrupt your gut microbiome and all the effects that can have are true of artificial sweeteners as well, even the ones that you assert are safe. The only healthy way to consume sweeteners is in strictly limited amounts, whether they are sugar or anything else.

Good video, I would say consuming Diet Pepsi for me has become a real health problem as it not only causes me to eat junk carbs (mainly chips) every day. Diet drinks have killed my weight loss attempts in the past. Also, the aspartame in diet drinks causes me to have arthritis like pain in my legs, shoulders, neck and lower back during sleep. The elimination of all diet drinks has removed the pain and stopped the cravings for really bad junk food....

Interesting. I find the opposite craving wise. I drink Coke Zero and Diet A&W Rootbeer but I'm sure it's pretty much the same thing. I've heard before that diet drinks can cause cravings and weight gain but I always thought it was bs since I have the opposite issue with them. They actually make me less hungry. Everyone is different I guess.

Okay when he says that there are sugars in vegetables, and fruit. there reason it's not as bad is because it comes with it's fibers, vitamins and minerals. When it's refined fructose or glucose it has a more damaging effect and spikes your insulin levers. it literally goes straight to your blood stream, as if it's with fruits there are balancing properties. Diet soda is the worst because your body can't use the artificial sweetener, and spikes insulin for no reason

I watched a minute and already found mistakes. First of all, get it straight what you mean by sugar. Sugar is really slang for carbohydrate but in food generally refers to sucrose. It sounds like you are referring to sucrose (table sugar/fruit sugar) but you then bring in amylase. Amylase breaks down amylose which is a highly branched polymer of pure glucose found in grains and tubers. There is no fructose in amylose. If you are talking about sucrose though you need to discuss sucrase which breaks its fructose:glucose glycosidic bond.

How does fibre increase the absoption of sugar and/or other nutrients? Most of the fibre we consume cannot be broken down by our body and stays in the intestines. And what it does there is block other nutrients from getting absorbed... Fibre really isn't as healthy as a lot of people think, you don't need to keep your intestines ''active'' by eating fibre. It's totally fine without it.

Excellent video, not sure where my comment went. As others have mentioned, totally missed the carbs are nothing more than really complex sugars. And its insane how bad the artificial sugars are for you and your gut biome which produces a heck of a lot of enzymes and hormones your body needs. Just cut as much sugar out as you can, and if you need something a little sweet, just use sugar. If you really clamp down on sugar intake, your sweetbuds will recalibrate over time and you won't NEED sugar in everything for it to taste good.
Also failed to mention that high sugar/carb intake means high insulin in the bloodstream.
While elevated insulin helps muscle synthesis, prolonged high BS as in high-carb diets overstresses the pancreas.
Also, mod/high levels of insulin make it almost impossible for lipolsysis (fat burning) to occur. Thats one of the keys to Keto, steady low blood sugar means low insulin, means lipolysis is able to let the dogs out.
And that happening 24x7 while on keto or very low carb.
