I always stop at a position (near the marker of course) where I can see mirrors/CCTV screens so I can see when to close the doors I also put the brakes in Step 1 just when i'm a sec away from a full stop so I stop without a jolt which might be uncomfortable for passengers
Even though this service from London Victoria to West Croydon via Crystal Palace. Normally, the service (which would continue beyond West Croydon via Waddon, Wallington, Carshalton Beeches and Sutton) would usually go via Norwood Junction and Norbury.
Great to see you back in London and good to hear you'll be getting the 4EPB soon. It's one of the better offerings from DTG lately so will be interesting to hear your thoughts. The scenario itself looked very good, tons of varied AI, even the old Class 73 hauled Gatwick Express was there!
simonmd2000 Haha yes, the used a Class 47 in place of the Class 73 for the Gatwick Express services in this scenario. I'd definitely really like to get and try the EPB soon, but I'm holding off on buying any more DLC until the Steam summer sale starts :)
Frowny13 Haha, the earlier one was done last night but took forever to process and upload. This one was done today and I managed to get it finished a bit quicker :)
and plus even on camshaft EMU's the power doesnt cut out, as the way your SPT contactors work (series paralell transition) work is it switches from series, to transition to parelell which means the motors are constantly fed, if the power did cut out the line switch would have to be cut off and the camshaft would have to re set and completelky run up again and wouldnt be able to start in paralell mode anyway as it needs to be in full series and work backwards, theres juist a big clunk of acceliration but no cut out, like on 455's and 508's, hope this helps!
Until I started this video, I had no idea that AP had produced their version of what's possibly my favourite MU. Marvelous work, per the usual, Peter. And a few brief minutes after watching, I was installing my copy of AP's latest gem, thus restoring my world to equilibrium 8-}> Jon
Jon Houston Brilliant, I hope that you enjoy driving this unit. It's a great model! As usual, AP have done an outstanding job and far better than anything DTG can pull off :)
these dont switch from series- paralell because there not controlled by a camshaft, there PWM (pulse width modulation which is GTO controlled) which means the motors are connected in SEPEX (seperatly excited) so theres no series- paralell- weakfield as scince there PWM it means the field winding and armature currents are constantly being changed giving it smooth acceliration.
shaun henro Well, I can only say that the Class 456 from Armstrong Powerhouse has driver approved physics and handling characteristics, and after stating this the manual then says 'Please note that when accelerating at 28mph, power briefly cuts out as the motors switch from series to parallel.'
Great Video. just wondering if you've considered making a video for London Euston - Birmingham New Street or a route within using Class 390 Pendilino? if there is a route for that even. been along that route before and its a very scenic route and can only be enjoyable to watch.
Aaron Bell If that route existed, I would love to make a video on it! Unfortunately that route doesn't currently exist. I do have two Pendolino videos on this channel though - one from Preston to Carlisle and the other from Carlisle to Glasgow Central :)
This is a great video. I miss Connex so much. And I remember the NSE to Southern refurbishment very well. The class 456 was in fact if I remember, the first train I ever went on. (2 cars) Norwood Junction-London Bridge. Do you remember your first train ride, and what train was it? Once again, great video.
TSguy0100 Ahhh I remember the days of travelling on Connex Class 421s between London and Eastbourne when I was a kid. I miss those days! I'm not sure if I do remember my first train ride. I can remember travelling on a Class 319 from Bedford to Brighton once, I was probably 4 or 5 at the time.. and then taking an NSE Class 421 from Brighton to Eastbourne. My first journey was likely in a 1st generation DMU from Lincoln to somewhere, but I'm not sure where lol :) And thanks!
PTGRail Yep, missed those days. I was born during the last few years of the 421's, but I have never been on one. The oldest train I've ever been on is a 455 (I think).
PTGRail No, but I really wan't to. The line from Hastings and Ashford to Bognor, Littlehampton and Portsmouth with the 313 would be a great ad-on for TS2015. (As long as it is joined to the existing BML.....lol).
TSguy0100 The 313s are ok. I kinda like riding on them even though I think they're quite ugly! Lol :p I'd love to see the Brighton to Ashford route made as it's my local line! :)
Kirkinstein I have indeed. I think it will be a 313 and 315 pack if I remember rightly? That will be great for suburban services on Great Eastern and ECML South. I look forward to it! :)
Kirkinstein That depends what games come down to a price I'm happy to pay for them lol :p But I may well do, I usually get both Train Simulator DLC and new games in Steam sales :)
JDB158 As always, I really like the train! It's a good model both inside and out, it sounds better and handles far more realistically than the DTG version :)
Sam Rogers I have indeed, but currently the sounds and handling characteristics just aren't good. I'm going to hold off on that until AP hopefully make a sound pack for it :)
neither did I! There are loads of videos on RUclips! But if you want other people who can build PCs for you, there's also Scan - not particularly cheap, but still. www.scan.co.uk
mjsdecember1990 Building it yourself is always going to be cheapest. I reflect Sarnoc's comments there. The PC I have is one I custom built myself. It's not as hard as you think. Take a look online and you can probably find some tutorial videos to help :)
I think I need to be banned from watching your videos.... Just spent £40 on the route... I didn't think I would get it but you twisted my arm! And I bought the Severn beach run previously.... Personally I blame it all on you ;-) (Pls don't ban only joking XD)
Bumblebonce Hahaha! Don't worry, I know you're only joking. I won't be banning you :p .. It seems I've caused a few people to spend more money than they previously intended to! :)
Hey Pete... really cranking them out :-) I cannot understand why so many of your "loyal" followers just can't bring themselves to chip in to your Patreon account.
BCCanuck1945 Maybe because they don't want to, maybe don't have enough money to support themselves, let alone strangers on the internet, or even, despise the idea of Patreon itself? You can't force people to donate to something, since that's the complete *opposite* of the term "donation."
BCCanuck1945 i would like to help pete out however im kinda short of money too and i dont want to feel like i have to. watching petes videos, leaving a like and stuff helps him out a bit
BCCanuck1945 I've never really seen it in those terms. While it's nice and I really do appreciate it if people can and do donate, I'm just happy that people watch these videos, this channel has never been about the money (that's just a bonus lol). It's a purely optional thing which is there if people feel they would like to chip something in towards this project. Thanks for the comment. I'm hoping to crank out quite a few more videos this summer before going to university in September :)
Kirkinstein You don't have to and I don't expect anyone to. I've never expected it, I'm just grateful that people choose to watch my content, comment on it and interact with me. If they also feel like sponsoring what I do, that's a bonus. :)
Maverick Hunter Daniel There is a simple donate to Paypal link on the channel page, I'm only on Patreon because it was suggested to me by a subscriber :)
Great video! Really like how the AI trains are all in old livery’s and slam door like trains.
I always stop at a position (near the marker of course) where I can see mirrors/CCTV screens so I can see when to close the doors
I also put the brakes in Step 1 just when i'm a sec away from a full stop so I stop without a jolt which might be uncomfortable for passengers
I do like the Class 456 Southern livery because the digital number button thing when you can click it but connex is a good livery as well as NSE.
Even though this service from London Victoria to West Croydon via Crystal Palace. Normally, the service (which would continue beyond West Croydon via Waddon, Wallington, Carshalton Beeches and Sutton) would usually go via Norwood Junction and Norbury.
I think the connex class 456 looks very nice in the dark when under a light at a station!!! :)
Rhys Gregory I agree! It brings back memories for me too :)
Great video as always. I like the way you changed the video when we can see the train entering the station :) Good job !
packers525 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Great to see you back in London and good to hear you'll be getting the 4EPB soon. It's one of the better offerings from DTG lately so will be interesting to hear your thoughts. The scenario itself looked very good, tons of varied AI, even the old Class 73 hauled Gatwick Express was there!

wow thats two route learning videos in one day!
Frowny13 Haha, the earlier one was done last night but took forever to process and upload. This one was done today and I managed to get it finished a bit quicker :)
yep
mouse wheel.
Josh Gray Indeed, what Frowny13 said. Use the mouse wheel :)

only thing that clapham junction is missing is the station ambience, great video here :)
The doors are rebelling.
Luke Langlais Haha, it seems they are :p This has happened with a Class 377 on this route for me before too lol xD
They use the class 456 for the Ascot to Guildford line. The bad thing about them is there is no bog, so hold it.
Sir Peepsalot just like the class 313s then xD
Sir Peepsalot Haha we have the same problems with Class 313s on the East and West Coastway services in Sussex :p
PTGRail Neither do the 455s and 483s
PGTRail, Have you noticed the class 47 on the Gatwick Express?
I will be getting this AP pack soon, and how many requirements are there to run these scenarios? Please tell me! Thanks! ☺️
Another thing that i would love is if you could atach a class 456 on to the front of a class 455 on a train from brighton to london in connex livery
Colin Engelbert You can attach them together, but running them from Brighton to London wouldn't be an accurate journey.
Maybe instead you could do it from Gatwick or cuddlesdon town
I spelt coudlesdon town rong didnt I
these dont switch from series- paralell because there not controlled by a camshaft, there PWM (pulse width modulation which is GTO controlled) which means the motors are connected in SEPEX (seperatly excited) so theres no series- paralell- weakfield as scince there PWM it means the field winding and armature currents are constantly being changed giving it smooth acceliration.

That door bug happened to me on the Oxford to Paddington line
mjsdecember1990 It normally only seems to happen to me on this or London to Brighton but I have no idea why lol xD
I have had the door problem on ECML South and MML

ooh another armstrong powerhouse release :D
have you heard that waggonz are working on a class 313 now!
Kirkinstein will you also be getting gta5 or any other games in the sale?
Kirkinstein I have indeed. I think it will be a 313 and 315 pack if I remember rightly? That will be great for suburban services on Great Eastern and ECML South. I look forward to it! :)

Fantastic, AP have done a great job, what do you think of it? Liked!
JDB158 As always, I really like the train! It's a good model both inside and out, it sounds better and handles far more realistically than the DTG version :)
I believe to say it is Streatham Tunnel, 220 yards.
Trent Jones Thanks, I wasn't sure :)
+PTGRail *Leigham Court Tunnel* :)
Oh those door bugs..... Nice video anyway :)
Simulator123 haha they are annoying! And thanks :)
Will you be giving away your old computer? And great video as always especially with the addition of that train!
Josh Thorpe Haha, I have no idea what I will be doing with this computer yet. And thanks! :)
PTGRail OK then, never mind. Not to worry!
Have you thought about doing the class 442 Gatwick express?
Sam Rogers I have indeed, but currently the sounds and handling characteristics just aren't good. I'm going to hold off on that until AP hopefully make a sound pack for it :)
would you do strood to Tunbridge or isn't that available and you have made another good video
Mandy Iden I would do it if it was available, but at present it's not possible to cover that journey.
You should do more flybys
It's here it's here it's here doodooodooodoooodooooo it's here
The maximum speed of the br186 is 142 KPH
Can you do a rout learning on the west Somerset please
Alex Metcalfe I will be covering that route at some point in the future :)
PTGRail was that a reskin of the train?
Sam Rogers This train comes in several liveries as it's the new Class 456 from Armstrong Powerhouse :)
I'm looking to build a budget pc can any suggest any places that can do it for me I've looked on pcspecialist but I would like to have more options
mjsdecember1990 build it yourself? I built my own, it's not very hard. And usually quite a bit cheaper
I wouldn't know what I would be doing
neither did I! There are loads of videos on RUclips! But if you want other people who can build PCs for you, there's also Scan - not particularly cheap, but still. www.scan.co.uk

Hi ptgrail can do a route from Dover to London St
+Farai Dominic Mamhende Unfortunately that route isn't currently available.
Is this based off 1997
Can you do a swt livery on Portsmouth direct line
Colin Engelbert Possibly. I'm not sure we really have anywhere suitable to drive an SWT Class 456.
You could do it between Portsmouth and haslemere
Colin Engelbert They don't run there in real life as far as I'm aware.
Colin Engelbert maybe you could do it as a shuttle service
I think I need to be banned from watching your videos....
Just spent £40 on the route... I didn't think I would get it but you twisted my arm! And I bought the Severn beach run previously.... Personally I blame it all on you ;-)

apparently the guard forgot to do his job
+Colin Engelbert Lol what do you mean? :p
On the train with its doors wide open
moleman would be happy with this livery xD
