It mocks Armenians, assyrians and greeks because during the 1915 genocide all those three groups killed off from their region and displaced from their homes by the Ottoman empire and the young turks. That's how Turkey came to be this huge country, it's occupied Western Armenia, northern Assyria, Eastern greek as well as northern Kurdistan.

But the collective aim is trying to associate n*zi with turk. Thats why instead of using the party name " Union and Progress Party" they are deliberately using english version of anti-monarcy (anti-Sultan Abdulhamit II) liberative rebellious movement name of "Jeunes Turcs". Even in Turkish, we use the French version. In Turkish when some says "genc türkler" everybody will understand like turkish people who are young and rebel...etc. But if you say "jön türkler" they first thinks poets and writers like Namik Kemal, Ziya Gokalp, Ali Suavi..etc and after years this movement centralized under CUP, and later UPP.
The think they are doing is criminalizing an ethnic group (Turk), supporting “collective guilt” which is unconstitutional, violates Americans’ 1st amendment rights.

So... Ana's working for a company called the "The Young Turks", which was founded by a Turkish man who was so proud of his Turkish history and heritage that it inspired him to select the name of his organization. Unsurprisingly this man originally denied the Armenian genocide, later to change his mind but not change the name of the group, but to show he "cares" he hires an Armenian token. That would be like the modern KKK hiring a single black person with the effort to basically rebrand and reimage.

Cenk moved here when he was 8 years old. He was well into this adult years when he made the statement denying the Genocide. He did this so he didn't get banned. He still kept the TYT name and the show often makes bigoted comments targeting Christians. He's a fraud.

I am a turkish canadian. I have many armenian and jewish friends. There are armenian christian and jewish politicians in the turkish parliament today. Things are different now. Certain things should not have happened in the past. We should all learn from the past and not to repeat the atrocities in the future.

As someone who’s family was actually impacted by the Armenian genocide, I can say that most Armenians just want acknowledgement by the global community, so that means we need people like Cenk who come from the Turkish community and are willing to not only change their mind but speak out when necessary.

+LIB. THAT is not accurate. The reason GG WAS an issue, before he about a year ago addressed it AGAIN! Is because he held that stance for MOST of TYT active years. After which it came out and was given focus and in turn Cenk came up with the weakest response ever. Which more or less, and I a am not kidding, sounded like someone who denied the holocaust. After that he was over time from hes own given so much shit that he eventually changed hes stance in ONE clear video. When I was in elementary school, I learned about the Armenian Genocide, on account that one of my favorite painters fled Armenia during that time (sadly, many of his relatives were killed in the genocide). His name was Arshile Gorky. To this day, I have not seen a book about the Armenian Genocide in any school, including college. The U.S. Government still wants to protect interests, and not acknowledge it, which is wrong! We need to learn from these atrocities!

Nobody calls these genocides on muslims genocide, but refers to them as freedom fights, however when Turks prevent armenians from stealing land that had been 900 years under our control it’s suddenly genocide. No, if greeks can murder muslim civilians to take land, then muslims can do the same to defend it. It’s called WAR. It weren’t even Turks who killed the armenians but mostly kurds, hence this region is now inhabited by kurds mostly.

When I was young I believed all sorts of crazy shit! Young people tend to do that, but as they grow older they learn the error of their thinking. Listening to other peoples views, researching the facts of their beliefs and reaching different beliefs. It's what life is all about... we live and we learn. And hopefully that turns us into better adults. Young people make mistakes, it's how they learn from those mistakes that matters.

This is the problem with being politically active early in life. Young people don't have much life experience. They have immature viewpoints and are easily swayed by propaganda. I recall being 15, watching a late night show about the USSRs missiles and writing to Sen. Helms to urge him to increase the US's defense budget so we could catch up to them in missiles. I also had some political positions in college that I'm still proud of to this day, but it could have easily gone the other way had I been exposed to different people at that time. We need to start valuing the idea that people change their minds as they experience life and mature their opinions. That's a good thing.
The reason I don’t think he’s changed is because the show is still called TYT. If he recognised it the shows name would change. I don’t know how she can work for a show that goes under the name of TYT.

The biggest risk in being an outspoken person who has political opinions and is willing to share them publicly is that you'll always be beholden to them even if/when you've evolved from them. I commend Cenk for owning it and admitting his own immaturity at the time. We've all been there.
That’s the whole point of evolving and maturing.... if, in our forty’s we still expressed ourselves the same way as we did when we were in our twenties... Stephen Miller comes to mind... that would be a sad day, with no learning curve for self education and maturity.
