"Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, L.A. City Council President Paul Krekorian and several prominent Jewish organizations joined the chorus of condemnation and anger after anonymous flyers calling to “wipe out Armenia from the world map” appeared in various parts of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles over the weekend.
“There is no place for anti-Armenian hatred in Los Angeles or anywhere else,” Mayor Bass said in a tweet on Monday.
“This past weekend, sick individuals posted flyers in Beverly Hills threatening to “wipe Armenian off the map,” said Council President Krekorian in a message posted on his social media platforms. “The City of Los Angeles will never tolerate to divide our people and set Angelenos against one another. There is no room for hatred in our public square.”
“History teaches a hard lesson. When hate speech goes unchecked, violence follows. I have spoken to [LA Police] Chief [Michel] Moore and LAPD is coordinating with Beverly Hills to ensure the safety of the public,” Krekorian added."

They should have, but Israel is engaged with a similar occupation and apartheid against native Palestineans. The Holocaust was done to Jewish communities and others, not to Israelis -- and many Jewish people today, especially non-Israelis, are against Azerbaijan's military terror against Armenians. I was preparing my company to go to the UN mission in the Nagorno-Karabakh region in 1993, in full combat formation so that we can actively prevent conflicts in the demarcation zone. Everything was blocked by Russia, Turkey and Israel in the UN. There is a reason that the Armenian Genocide is similar to the Nazi genocide. Hitler used the Armenian Genocide as a model for his own. And, when asked how the people of the future would judge his actions, he said "who remembers the Armenian Genocide?" Of course, Poole did, or he would not have known about it himself. But not nearly as much as it should have been. Especially since it set the early 20th century precedent for the horrible genocides that would follow.

Why not point out that there is a degree of religious bigotry in the flyer? They point out that Armenia is a Christian nation! Not just any Christian nation at that. It plays a significant role in the history of Christianity in that it was the first country to adopt Christianity as its religion. The bigotry is very obvious on that flyer.

While I have sympathy for the Armenians of the Nagorno Karabakh it is worth noting that while the NK was majority Armenian at the end of Soviet Union 27% of the population were Azeri and during the war Armenian forces did cleanse NK of the civilian Azeri population. Also worth pointing out that Armenian forces in the 90s did seize more territory then just NK. Just to be clear I don't oppose an independent NK however if you look at Kosovo, while it is majority Albanian there are still Serbs in Kosovo the same cannot be said of Azeris in NK.
