The funny thing about this whole thing is that George IV mentions two other figures that are both played by the actor who plays the historian. His father George III, and Oliver Cromwell
I love how George IV is eating and drinking while he is sitting on the throne and then stops the narrator to warn him that he can hear him ...It looks so funny ...😂😂😂
"George 4th liked catholic women, etc, and FOOD. Yes. VAST AMOUNTS OF FOOD." "I can hear you you know." lololololololololololololololol :):):):):):):):):)
This show is actually funnier than alot of sketch shows, mainly because they play it so straight! "George the 4th loved architecture, culture and Catholic women!" 😂😂😂
"In an unusual twist of what normally happens on this show, the king of England has brought our historian to Sain Georgian's Chapel to prod some of his dead relatives" THAT SOUNDS SO WEIRD OUT OF CONTEXT THOUGH XD
I love this show. It’s a shame I only knew of it recently, I would have loved it when it came out too. I’ve learned a lot just from watching these sketches on RUclips XD
Ah you missed out, loved watching this as a kid. At least you can find the majority of these as clips on RUclips. Think the show was on cbbc, so you can always check if there’s an Iplayer for that
Sorry to be a stickler for facts but if this is 1813 George would still be the Prince of Wales and not yet King. Ah well, still perhaps my favourite George IV sketch!
As the family genealogist....Sir Frances Guesswork is hilarious. And this is exactly what genealogists have done for famous people and politicians, they inserted names that didn't belong to make them look like they came from royalty. A whole lot of Americans are walking around thinking they come from royalty..lol. That was before genealogy became standardized requiring documentation, now we use DNA in our research.
tnecklover Ooh, that is a good point. George III didn’t die until 1820. I guess George IV telling Guesswork he was the king was just wishful thinking! 😂
@KevlarNinja they were related. In fact you can say that even Queen Elizabeth II. is related back to William the Conqueror. Not on the direct male line but he is her ancestor.
Today they digged up Richard the 3rds body from a parking garage so now he's going to be there along side all of the kings hopefully, but that gets me thinking who was in his spot if he wasn't there?
Yeah, i WAS in this church-thing they went into. Isnt it in the tower of london? I miss London. Its the most beutifull town if ever seen. But i life on a island, so i havent seen that much towns yet... xD
@BerenMace Ah, well, I was my bad, with the war of the roses, and the English Civil War, and the fact George 1 was from Germany, so I figured that there were diffrent lines.
Matt Lipton Elizabeth I was a cousin to Mary Queen of Scots. Mary’s son succeeded Elizabeth, as James I of England (but VI of Scotland). Then, you go down the Stuart line, which stops with Anne. The crown jumps over to George (I) Hanover, who is a pretty distant relative but definitely still related.
How dare they open the tomb of that sainted martyr and most benign King Charle I!!! It is a tragedy that some tv show makes a joke of it! Children did to be taught to exhalt their monarch and the people need to shun this new silly democratic system and return to obedience to their Monarch!
Too late. People already ridiculing the monarch since George I came from Germany. And with presents Princes like Charles, Andrew, or Harry, who can blame them for ridiculing the royalty? At least the monarchy still intact, right?
"Sir Francis Guesswork"... The British sure know how to imagine their detectives. I mean first Sherlock and now this. Brilliant.
Thank you
"I got drunk and measured him! Hahahaha!" That always cracks me up 😂
The funny thing about this whole thing is that George IV mentions two other figures that are both played by the actor who plays the historian. His father George III, and Oliver Cromwell
His name is Lawry Lewin btw
@@idontcare6505 @Jeremy X Although he was also played by Simon Farnaby. Lawry replaced Simon when he was sick.
I've watched so many of these in the last few days. These are brilliant and funny. So, kudos to the creators, the writers, and the actors!!
Same
I love how George IV is eating and drinking while he is sitting on the throne and then stops the narrator to warn him that he can hear him ...It looks so funny ...😂😂😂
Yet he doesn’t stop the narrator. He must be pretty forgiving.
"George 4th liked catholic women, etc, and FOOD. Yes. VAST AMOUNTS OF FOOD."
"I can hear you you know." lololololololololololololololol :):):):):):):):):)
marybeary64 it’s not lololololololololololol it’s lollollollollollollollollollollo

I thought Richard the Lionhearted was the gay one.
This show is actually funnier than alot of sketch shows, mainly because they play it so straight!

The end is too funny !
"In an unusual twist of what normally happens on this show, the king of England has brought our historian to Sain Georgian's Chapel to prod some of his dead relatives"
THAT SOUNDS SO WEIRD OUT OF CONTEXT THOUGH XD
It’s not really any saner in context
“It’s all gone a bit weird really.” NO SHIT SHERLOCK!
"I got drunk and measured him. HAHAHAHA."

1:00 My favourite shot in the whole of Horrible Histories.
That was charles's revenge on lawry for having him beheaded!
You’re a person of culture, I see.
IM EIGHT YEARS LATE
Trouble is, Lawry Lewin plays Oliver Cromwell. So in a way, Charles 1st got his revenge.
I love this show. It’s a shame I only knew of it recently, I would have loved it when it came out too.
I’ve learned a lot just from watching these sketches on RUclips XD
I've been watching it since I was a kid, it gave me my love for history
well the cast has done a bunch of stuff together all with their same senses of humour. In fact season 2 of ghosts is coming out later this year.
It started in 2009
Ah you missed out, loved watching this as a kid. At least you can find the majority of these as clips on RUclips.
Think the show was on cbbc, so you can always check if there’s an Iplayer for that
It's horrible histories it's my childhood
I love how at 1:06 Jim looks at the camera like "can you believe this guy?"
"Honestly, some people have no respect for the dead."
George's reaction when the eye explodes xD hilarious
"There's old Charlie!"
I laughed at "Charles got his eyes on you" xD
CHARLIES GOT HIS EYE ON U!! omg now i cant imagigine charles 1 or 2 without seeing mat....
Sorry to be a stickler for facts but if this is 1813 George would still be the Prince of Wales and not yet King. Ah well, still perhaps my favourite George IV sketch!
King Charles I has his eye on you! XD
The writing in the show is genius
King George looks so eager to see his dead relatives... LOL!! XD
1:29 - 1:31 My reaction when my lecturer drones on about arrays in Javascript.
As the family genealogist....Sir Frances Guesswork is hilarious. "Oh this BORING!" haha :P
Vast amounts of food!!!!! pmsl!!! :D
Sir Francis -Guess-Work xD
I don't think George IV was King in 1813, but still Regent.
tnecklover Ooh, that is a good point. George III didn’t die until 1820. I guess George IV telling Guesswork he was the king was just wishful thinking! 😂
Insert "You don't say." meme here.
awwww!!
King Georgie IV!
hahahahah this is so cool :D
If this was 1813, George the 3rd would still be alive George the 4th wouldn’t be king until 1820.
he was regent
@KevlarNinja they were related. In fact you can say that even Queen Elizabeth II. is related back to William the Conqueror. Not on the direct male line but he is her ancestor.
Today they digged up Richard the 3rds body from a parking garage so now he's going to be there along side all of the kings hopefully, but that gets me thinking who was in his spot if he wasn't there?
Well technically, the narrator said George IV loved Catholic Women. He say "Catholic School Girls".
Does anyone else think the tall lean expert sounds really like Matt Smith?
Food. Vast amounts of FOOD.
what's the background music, please?
Are the rits now called the Charlestons?
God Save The King!
Sir Francis Guesswork...
If you are a USA person, you should have watched your "Schoolhouse Rock/ America Rock" cartoon videos, then you would know it was George III :)
I’m here because Lawry is hot.
Edit- oh yes and history
What Is The Background Music?
And, ehm, why did he open the tombs?
Dude, I was just taking a piss with the whole Catholic school girls thing!! Chill :D I know my history well enough
his face at 1:00 PRICELESS
Yeah, i WAS in this church-thing they went into. Isnt it in the tower of london? I miss London. Its the most beutifull town if ever seen. But i life on a island, so i havent seen that much towns yet... xD
Did I miss something? Why does the comments section keep talking about school girls?
King George the IV and known henceforth as angry, fat and cross. It's true he beat Napoleon, but was mostly a dead loss.
Bang on!
Old William four was a sailor!
But wat about ollie cromwell, HUH?!?! YEAH THINK ABOUT THAT HORRIBLE HISTORIES!!!!!!!

@@ruslans2006 Oh thank you, good sir!
Am I the only one who seems to find Lawry Lewin attractive?
1:01 Hahahahahahahahahaha
I’m 😢
@abc101090 I know but he only says he father (George 3) and his great grandfather (George 2)
0:43. Is that Dr Who?
@BerenMace Ah, well, I was my bad, with the war of the roses, and the English Civil War, and the fact George 1 was from Germany, so I figured that there were diffrent lines.
George I still descended from the Stuart actually.
Hazaahh
well i have done research and it says that you are desendent from royalty
I say francis guesswork would make a fine husband
Opening tomb is discusting
oh u big GIRL
This scares me either way u read this.
I thought the Tuders, Stuarts, and Georges were unrelated.
@@pinkroseperson256 not so distant. George I actually the great grandson of James I/VI from maternal line through Elizabeth Stuart.
So the reason why the American Revolution started was because George III was nuts?? All this time, I thought he was just a jerk!
3:03 Is that supposed to be disgusting?
Well true, however, back in those days, the catholic school girls weren't what we in modern age are used to seeing.
@darrin42 OK, now I'm just starting to feel dumb. ;) JJ
@missluckyducky07 i feel ya.
no it was the George the 3rd who lost the 13 colonies not the 4th
hmmm the king of England are you 100% sure about that or do you mean the King of Great Britain instead
Honestly some people have no respect for the dead. You've just opened their fucking tombs.
How dare they open the tomb of that sainted martyr and most benign King Charle I!!! It is a tragedy that some tv show makes a joke of it! Children did to be taught to exhalt their monarch and the people need to shun this new silly democratic system and return to obedience to their Monarch!

@yellowpotondesk Woops.
Well, technically Catholic schools girls could grow up to be Catholic women :D
