    I have 2017 GT with some suspension improvements. This video tells me I should stick with it rather than trade up to a Mach 1, as it will likely be no quicker and possibly slower. Good buyer advice.

    Next test should be 305 NT-01 square with an upgraded pad and track alignment without any upgraded suspension parts. Show what tires, alignment and pads do before adding special parts. The ecoboost is a purpose built track rat sporting a lot of negative camber front and rear.

      @@Shaggie_Thrills Yeah, I have a straight pipe single exit on mine. I didn't want to spend 400 on an axle back and more on a resonator just to have it sound bad. Might as well sound bad (but very fun) for super cheap. It is fun though and does pop and crackle a lot. At this point I dont care that it doesn't sound all that good, but its so much more fun this way.
      Also not too loud suprisingly.

    Great Video Steeda, Thank you!
    Question- why wasn’t there much discussion about the tires used on the Ecoboost?
    It seems to me that would make a big difference in braking and corner speed.

      Nitto 315 Nitro NT-01 on the EB; stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on the Mach 1. Handling pack Mach 1 (which they were NOT using) has Cup 2’s. All that was covered in the video. Did you watch it?

  • @matthewmarino4439
    @matthewmarino4439 3 года назад +6

    For the EB haters (plenty of them) out there, the lap time tells the tale. Spend any time at a track with turns, and you will see Miyata's lapping heavy V8's all day long. Sure, the EB emits a sound like a fart-can. But the people hearing it are behind you. And now that it's been out for a while, proven power adders make it plenty quick, and pretty sorted out. They indirectly, point out the basic 5.0 V8 problem, weight. The EB has a lighter front end and a better center of mass for autocross, track days, etc. I added a Steeda Tri-Axe short shifter to mine, it's so fun to drive at all those events. (amongst plenty of other Steeda go-fast bits) Don't get me wrong, I dig V8's, I6's, W10's, V-Twins, etc. But, a 1:20, beats a 1:24 all day long.

    • @2004lesk01
      @2004lesk01 3 года назад +1

      really good points here, but i think its worth noting the EB has had a shit load of work to it, only to edge out the MACH 1 in its stock form. also i noticed the MACH1 had the back s seat and the EB had the deletion, as you pointed out weight is everything, i feel the EB, has probably removed a few items not needed, also keeping the weight down. So in conclusion as stock vehicles, the MACH 1 would win hands down. This has nothing to do with engine size rather a track proven/ready vehicle versus a standard road car.

    Excellent comparison. I am impressed how well the Mach1 did against a race prepped Q350 EB. Of course the EB is better around the track it damn well batter be with all the mods, brakes and track tires. The lighter car always beats the heavier one on a road course because of the speed it can carry through the curves. A race prepped Mach1 would be a good match for the Q350 😁👍👍

    Its a shame that a Ford Ecoboost engine is still inferior to a VW TSi engine. It doesn't rev well. It can't make 400 crank HP as easy as the TSi. It heats up too fast. Volkswagen is far superior to Ford with turbo engines
