On English sayings. An ‘eye hospital’ is a hospital that specialises in eye problems, for example, Moorfields Eye Hospital.
On the Sherlock example, 50 or more years ago it was fairly common to have a press bell on the counter in a shop to get attention. This was because the shop keeper or shop assistant might be the only person on duty and might be managing stock in the stock room. This was particularly likely in a small shop. Another way of getting attention from the shop keeper in the back room was to call ‘shop!’ John Watson, therefore, on seeing the bell, pressed it and also, in an old fashioned manner, because of the old fashioned bell, also called, ‘shop!’ One more way of getting attention was for the shop to have a bell that would be knocked by the door as it was opened when the customer entered.
    Cheers 😊

      True story
Every game is slightly different skill you have to acquire to be good at it. Imagine people who didn’t play tons of games - they just can’t learn new stuff, they aren’t used to it.

I tried that and it doesn't really change viewership or retention. So I don't bother.

So during my life I've also experienced burnout, first time during high school, because it was horrendous, killed my motivation. So I quit, started working and taking up subjects on the side for four years. Then I went for university. Second time after my first born, which was a time where I needed sacrifice a lot of my free time and needed to restructured a lot during a short time (long commute, new apartment, moving together with spouse again, shifting focus from climbing the career ladder to becoming a parent). Becoming a parent, I willingly sacrificed a large part of my previous life (video games, exercising, working extra hours) of many years, and instead of having half the day to free time, I now had a couple of hours a week for free time.
I still struggle with motivation, now especially in regards to work, but also at home, in the relationship, family relations, personal things, friends.
I think it's a result of the exhaustion from becoming a parent, but also addiction to social media.
And a lack of an immersive and rewarding system.
It's easy for me to see the happiness for example renovating the entry hall would bring, but actually thinking about doing it is almost impossible for me to actually think about.
It's so easy to avoid stuff, because it's not fun enough, and I feel there's a big empty bucket of energy that I feel needs to be filled.
So I might be burned out and not just aware of it.

Interesting I was just thinking about ways I could try to make work more fun and engaging. Some good suggestions, thank you. Also just realized that religion is maybe a way people gamify life.
