長洲西灣漁網編織技藝工作坊 Fishing Net Workshop

是次工作坊由長洲西灣非物質文化遺產傳承人教授參加者編織漁網袋。長洲西灣漁民稱「編織漁網」為「尺網」，昔日漁民多是自行尺網、補網來捕魚，所以漁民都懂尺網。在六、七十年代，長洲的外發商號請漁民代工編織漁網袋，是捕魚以外的收入。
This workshop was organized by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer to teach the participants how to knotting fishing net bags. In Cheung Chau, Boat Dwellers say “Chek Mong” to mean knotting seine for fishing. In the old days, they made and repaired the seines by themselves. In the 60’s and 70’s, a local factory paid them to make bags in the “Chek Mong” way. That earned them extra income.
