11:20 the BASE trim for the V8 Camaro was stacked with stuff base mustang owners wish they had. My brother has the LT1 (base v8 package) with the 10spd and my dude has the "mustang premium package" touchscreen, 20" tires and brembo brakes....for less than what my base mustang was. The camaros are no joke
Alex, I'll tell you another way these guys are driving an $80-90,000 car on a $30,000/year budget. I asked this question to a friend of mine who is a salesman with a local dealership. He said that 90% of them are a lease which lowers the payment dramatically. That's they don't give a shit about trashing, running from the cops and crashing them out.
I've had 3 buddies get completely burned on built motors. They were charged stupid money and the motors didn't last and it was because the motors were not built correctly. For me personally, I'll never have a motor built. I'll just buy a GM performance factory built motor with forged internals. It's sad because every single engine builder never stood behind their product. Blamed it on the tuning or abuse even though their motors didn't last 6 passes... insane shit.
In all my years building motors. I always recommend all new stuff, just helps with stuff like this. I just prefer to build all my own stuff but shit does happen from time to time.
Oh well least you figured it out to be weak springs under boost. If you want to check your valves you can do a leak down test. I need to finish the video before I post a comment
Im glad I dumped my old 16gt and got a 22 SS 1LE manual before they were gone.. Best car I've ever driven, and if you aren't an idiot, its not hard to install a cam & ported heads on it.. I did mine by myself on a Saturday, and dropped it off at tuner sunday night, it was tuned by noon on the next day.. Now im riding out in a choppin ass 596whp stick N/A car that is bad ass, and is sooo much more enjoyable to drive than some strip queen that only drag races well, and does everything else in slow motion..

Leave the heads on and just change the springs. But while the old springs are out check them to see if they are soft. If there not weak, then pull the heads.
Take the heads off do all new springs and valves. Its more money but then you know heads are 100%. A built motor is everything. Only the original block and cylinder heads should be left everything that goes on or in should be new. Replacing some parts and still using old parts is a mild refresh.
Those are the perfect people for a Tesla, soon Teslas will be driving themselves and they will do it better than a person, the heck future cars will be able to drive like James Bond, doors sideways, donuts no problem
Alex, is there any chance that going wot kicks on a 3rd fuel pump and there is something wrong with that pump or voltage to it? Just a thought if it’s not the valve springs.
I started seeing carbon in my intake after installing a full exhaust. I was told it could be reversion caused by a big cam and too much back pressure, you didn’t run a full exhaust before? Just my experience with an N/A SBF.

It’s such bull crap on that GT 500 motor the engine builder should’ve been Telling you what you need I own a shop and I always explain what the outcome could be on not doing something. I hear it all the time call shops cut corners just to fill their pockets ,lazy!!!
I don't like that just cuz the block or motor its self is expensive, doesn't justify overly expensive labor.. People take advantage of cars that people race and need upkeep.. FYI: start that bih on the engine stand before re-installing it.. I know you kicking yourself for not selling that money pit before ever doing a single thing to it.. But at this point, ya gotta just keep it, and enjoy it a few times a year, it will eventually pay off for you in the long run, but your far behind the curve now..
