While I basically never agree with critics, I feel like the actual issue is the 100 point scale
It's hard to pinpoint something that precisely, so that in combination with the fact there are multiple people working on these reviews the scores become really inconsistent
And of course all reviews biased on opinion and the bigger issue in that front is not that they complain about stuff they don't like, but rather where never the target audience to begin with, but of course they need that review for those ads

Completely agree. My main issue with them is they put there own personal preferences or nostalgia in there reviews. Sure that’s always going to happen but there’s some reviews on there that literally just say “I don’t like platformers” like have you ever even played Mario before?

My issue with game critics is how they turn people against certain games because they are overrated. Breath of the Wild is probably one of my favourite games but the reason opinion on it is divided and many argue it is overrated nonsense is because of how ridiculously perfect it’s scores were when it came out. I love it personally but it has glaring flaws that should’ve been addressed. And now this divide has caused people to be very harsh of tears of the kingdom before it has even released.

They have a major influence on peoples opinions of games and that’s why they should put more thought and accurate opinions in their reviews

I don't find an issue of having opinions on reviews. They are bound to show up. It is art after all.
I do agree that it can get ridiculous sometimes.
