the reason why yubin’s “city love” comeback was never released was due to a copyright/plagiarism issue- the beat was found to be extremely similar to maria takeuchi’s “plastic love” and JYP, being such a big company, wasn’t willing to take a chance like that. it’s a shame because without hearing the whole song, you can’t even tell how close it was/how similar the songs sounded… it might have not even been similar at all. :(

Hello and thank you for commenting! After uploading this video, I actually found out about this information as well! I'm glad that you mentioned this! It really is a shame that this song will most likely never get an official release. Yubin's solo work is incredible!

Finally more people making videos on lost KPop media.
It made me sad that last year I hardly saw some videos on youtube dealing with this topic, Kpop has so many very interesting lost media cases.

Unfortunately, there aren't many lost media videos on K Pop and the ones that are around have topics that many people already known about.
I agree! There is so much K Pop lost media content! It's truly a treasure trove for lost media fans!

There's this TWICE song called "I'm gonna be a star" that otiginally was made for the reality "Sixteen", but it was officially released as a CD only song for their comeback album "Page Two", 2016. That probably means that the song was recorded before the reality ended, cuz the show aired like 2014/15. So, what if there is an "I'm gonna be a star" version with all the sixteen contestants instead of only the 9 twice members?
+ Some songs from Twice's debut album originally played during sixteen, so they probably had demos for those songs

Hello and thanks for the comment! I do see a lot of kpop demos and unreleased songs here on RUclips, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a different version this song !

Now that I think of it, Jalapeno by Lucas and Hendery might count as lost media, cuz some assholes (pardon my French) started rumors THE DAY BEFORE the release of that song so SM had to scrap EVERYTHING and on top of that Lucas left NCT too, so it was all for nothing, we only got the teaser and a low quality leak

The OG version for Berrygood's BiddibiBoddibiBoo MV, actually does contain the scenes from the teaser. But allegedly they had to rerecord the MV, because Disney wanted to sue them. Thus in their next comeback with their studio album "Green Apple" was a distrack directed at Snow White.

as a big fan of both kpop and lost media, I loved watching this video! lost media is soooo interesting to me, and I think it's especially relevant with an industry like kpop where most content is posted online. it's all so neat!💞

Hello and thank you so much for the positive feedback! I do agree as I feel like K Pop has so much lost media that not many people known about! I also find it really fascinating how there's so much information covering topics that eventually becomes lost media due to the huge online presence that K Pop has!

That sounds really interesting! I did see a lot of other topics of lost media regarding groups that are/were from smaller companies! Thanks for sharing!

I think Sechs Kies said in an interview from around Welcome to the Sechs Kies Land's release that the interlude-outro tracks were cut from the tape due to physical constraints. Tapes just can't hold as much data as CDs or what not, and the gate & outro tracks are just window-dressing for the theme of the album, being a theme park.
They mention it somewhere in this video (though it's not subbed): ruclips.net/video/WeUH7MQCb18/видео.html

Hello and thank you for sharing! I had a feeling that lack of space was the reason why those tracks weren't included in the tape release of the album! I'm glad that the members themselves gave out a explanation!

u-kiss had a collab with a clothing store somewhere between 2012-2015 (iirc jan 2014??) and made an album with a unclear name. when I search up u-kiss one love (one of the songs on the album, the rest of the titles are in korean) another song by them comes up that sounds completely different. I have managed to dig a bit and find some videos of u-kiss talking about the collab, but that’s about it. the song is so obscure to the point that it’s not even on their official page and I have to scour soundcloud for it.
update: the album is called only you.

This is very interesting!!! this isn't a Kpop song, but a whole Kpop artist that was lost to time! Apparently, his name is Yang Joon-il and he's gotten popular (recently) after people found out that he was tied to the kpop industry as one of the first idols. (of the older days, a.k.a the 50's and 60's) but you just take a look at it and don't take my word for it just yet! 😊
