it cost me 35p per kwh here in the UK, my rtx4070 pc uses about 400w when gaming. (Total Cost for 5 hour usage is £0.70 per day) monthly cost is £21. So I can average 5 hour per day for £21/month on my local pc. GFN give you 3.5hours per day for £20/month, for the same 3.5 hours it would cost me £14/month in electricity.
I have been telling this to my friends for years... "but then you dont own the hardware!" yea no shit... 1 half decent GPU costs as much as three full years of GFN and you still have to pay electricity. I understand that it is not for everyone, but for casual gamers GFN is so much more economic.

Principlly, such a cap is bad, but for me personally, I only play around 10-20 hours per month since I need to work and study on the side. So, at least for me, it's no real chance. I also got the founders membership so I "only" pay $5 per month compared to the current price of $10, but I get it that some might users of the service might find the new limits atrocious.
you're a founder and they'll never upgrade your hardware, so yes you pay £5 but thats a CPU worth £30 and a GPU worth £200 (USED PARTS) you get a RTX3060/2080 and i5 9500 CPU equivalent. i could build a founders pc for £350.
@imretix8081 Sure. But I'm not subscribing purely for the hardware. I'm subscribing because I don't want manually install / update my games and save on my electricity bill (my country has the highest energy prices per kWh). Also, I can play from anywhere (I know parsec exists, but my upload speed is not enough for a smooth experience). I do own a dedicated gpu PC for VFX, AI and development purposes, but for gaming I can just use my high efficiency laptop and get a very smooth and perfectly fine experience. Also, I don't need to install any kernal level rootkits such as Battleeye, Easy Anticheat or Ricochet on my PC and protect myself from faulty HWID bans (such as with CODs ban other players exploit) and IP leaking.
