Though I rarely comment here on my RUclips pages, I was attracted by the emotions in your comment. I'll like we get along and keep in touch, if it's okay by you. Where are you streaming from?
Robert Plant has a unique way of speaking that always intrigues. Led Zeppelin was one of those "lightening-in-a-bottle" events like the Beatles and so forth. There's a depth and mystique in their songs like no other band. On top of that was much talent and a stage presence. Magical.
I'm 63 listened to led Zepllin first in 1969 and then all the way through till Presence and yet this is the first time I've ever heard Robert Plant speak at length! What a pleasant guy he is.
Greatest singer and lovely man. He's so full of energy and enthusiasm for all types of music. I listen to LZ every day. They make me feel happy. Thank you Robert Plant and thank you Led Zeppelin for making the world a happier place. ❤
So interesting to hear such an intelligent and learned man. There is far more to Robert Plant than meets the eye. I would like to thank him for the music and pleasure he has given me, and still does forty years on. Thank you Robert.
Thank you Robert. In the early 70s my best friends older brother took us to a Led Zep show at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Maybe because I was just a kid or maybe because it was my first concert I had ever been to but it literally changed my life. All these years and hundreds of concerts later nothing else can compare to that show. Thank you again Robert, you are my legend.
I always say the same thing. I met him briefly in a pub in Ireland. He threw his head back and sang a few classic notes, I told him I loved him and that Kashmir is greatest song ever written. I walked away and have never been the same. I’d sell my soul to spend a week with him listening and learning.
I met him at Ipswich football club years ago when they were playing Wolves. I tentatively approached him at half-time and he sat and talked to me for the whole of half-time. A truly lovely man.
I met him in Peoria Illinois on his first show after his up on the start of the tour in middle America and Peoria Illinois, we met him in the lobby of the hotel you were staying after the show mobs of people around and we waited patiently and it was three of us and we didn’t have to go up to him he knew we were gigantic fans and wanted to meet him he came over and approached us and asked us where we are from what we thought of the show talked for honestly probably five minutes he did that with everybody! He was like talking to your friendly next-door neighbor but he was honestly sincere when he would ask you questions just a super nice guy !!!
Emma Philo yeah Emma he really was so down to earth and genuinely nice talk to everybody in the lobby! I don’t know if I mentioned in my other post I met Jimmy page 1985 or 86 he also was very gracious to everybody it was in a bar in a hotel in Chicago after a show seemed a bit more shy but friendly and took pictures with us very modest superstars.

@@mariaconcettadilecce2689 No. I don't believe it is the real Robert Plant. He is much to busy and he doesn't need more friends or fans. Be safe my friend, it could be a bad person.
I can listen to Him speak about anything all day & be fascinated. He’s got so much insight and enthusiasm. 🤘🏽🔥Zeppelin is my favourite band for a reason...
I saw him at Disneyworld in 1977. He was with his family. I asked him if he'd mind if I took a photo. He obliged and that was that. I couldn't believe it. I was 21 and a huge fan. Sadly his little son that was with him passed away within the next month or two. That is the difference between a artist vs. Performer. Today's music will never be authentic because it is read off a script. When Zeppelin and the Beatles were in business they spent months working on it so it was authentic!
You read my mind. I don't mean to talk badly of contemporary artists but they just don't seem to be in the same league. When you consider how young LZ were (and many of their contemporary musicians), it is amazing their maturity and abilities. For sure there are great musicians today but they are likely to not make it to the tv, radio, recording studio. "Talent" shows are all about manufacturing and promoting a product, imo.
In fairness it certainly helps the interview format immensely if Jools Holland is the interviewer. He's an engaging man and obviously an incredibly musical person. You generally don't get that these days with normal hosts.
If your 74 and you were a popular music buff in those days we all went to these shows called package tours in cinemas.and he’s younger than me.I remember seeing Zep at The Hornsey Wood Tavern Wood Green or Bluesville 69 on March the 7th 1969
Words can't describe the immense joy you've given the world through your songs and voice. You are the very best Sir. Thank you Robert . much love brother.
I saw them at the Oakland (CA) Coliseum, August, 1977. Highlight, and bragging rights, of my life. A coworker was saying how he saw some band, I said "I've seen Led Zeppelin", he says "Well, that trumps everything". Indeed!

Thank you for uploading this splendid interview. Plant's words are poetic. What a lovely man. I was a great fan of his (and the Zep) in the '70's. Over the years, my appreciation of and admiration for him have only deepened. Wonderful.
I've been a fan of Robert Plant since the late 60's. When these artists tell the stories of how, when, where, it just makes my heart so happy ♥️ As the man said, Appreciate him while he still has a living presence ♥️ Thank You Robert and Led Zeppelin 🙏
"When you've created one 'Whole Lotta Love', how many of them do you need?" That's really well said. People always want bands to keep doing that same thing over and over. Zeppelin was genius at connecting the familiarity of their early work to the explorations of the new material they were putting out. It always sounded like Led Zeppelin, no matter how different Fool in the Rain is from Heartbreaker.
@@neilpeartspurplenose8739- I wish he had done Carry Fire all the way through in at least one of his live shows. I've seen the live versions of those tracks and they're just magnificent and powerful.
Robert Plant is a living legend, not only amazing vocalist but an amazing blues harmonica player. All of the great rock musicians from the 60’s and 70’s were heavily influenced by the blues and Robert Plant is one of them.
He is a great harmonica player! I just watched a clip of him with Zeppelin in 70/71 performing Bring It On Home and it was spot on. But he has said he used to play harmonica in various bands when he had no money, so that explains why he's so good at it.
I’m so glad that Robert and Jimmy are still alive. They both look good for being in their 70s. When it’s time for them to pass away, it’s going to crush me. I would love to meet both of em.

@@HipsterDoofus100 Ha Yeah right. Take her Bob, I don't want her anyway. Just sing me 'Heartbreaker' and she's yours.

Thanks a lot Robert. You made my life worthwhile.

Hello Sandra,
Thanks for your love, and support all through this times, it's been a wonderful feeling performing for my fans around the world.
Magical.
You’re right, a dignity and not rude.... no dummy for sure
The most fascinating rock star ever. Love you Robert plant
Pure magic indeed ✨
I'm 63 listened to led Zepllin first in 1969 and then all the way through till Presence and yet this is the first time I've ever heard Robert Plant speak at length! What a pleasant guy he is.
Greatest singer and lovely man. He's so full of energy and enthusiasm for all types of music. I listen to LZ every day. They make me feel happy. Thank you Robert Plant and thank you Led Zeppelin for making the world a happier place. ❤
He’s a gentle soul, touched by far too much tragedy. He is so encouraging of young talent, he’s so generous with them.
As a singer, Robert Plant is definitely my greatest inspiration. Thank you, mr. Plant.
I hope I can meet you someday.
Maybe because I was just a kid or maybe because it was my first concert
I had ever been to but it literally changed my life. All these years and hundreds of concerts later nothing else can compare to that show. Thank you again Robert, you are my legend.
I could listen to Rob talk for hours. Seems such a great guy to sit and have a chat with.
I witnessed
ive heard that he can be quite obnoxious towards peasants
I always say the same thing. I met him briefly in a pub in Ireland. He threw his head back and sang a few classic notes, I told him I loved him and that Kashmir is greatest song ever written. I walked away and have never been the same. I’d sell my soul to spend a week with him listening and learning.
It’s so cool that Robert is still with us.
He's only 73!!!!!!
Long live the king.
@nikjames2965 Not trying to knock him but he looks between 85 and 100 these days.
@@larryj3164 👍🏻
Seems like a people's type of man. It would truly be a dream to meet him....
@@larryj3164 I once saw Jimmy Page outside his house in London UK, I was excited but I am not one to disturb superstars just outside their house lol. Your encounters with Plant and Page seem cool, lucky you :)
I in all truth, since 2015. Seeing him with the sensational space shifters. Then through his awesome podcast. I have become a bigger fan than I have ever been. And I never imagined being a bigger fan than I was in high school 40 years ago. But its true, he is a walking encyclopedia of music, all music that he keeps seeking. Digging for gems.
Absolutely brilliant. Check out his band playing LIVE.
RAINBOW, and CARRY FIRE. Incredible!!!
There is a depth and timeless beauty to his soul that words can not express. Robert Plant is Legend.

No. I don't believe it is the real Robert Plant. He is much to busy and he doesn't need more friends or fans. Be safe my friend, it could be a bad person.
@@elainemclaughlin9417 Thank you very much, you have been very kind and prompt. Thank you and see you again, Mariaconcetta
I was at work when I heard of that and thought it couldn't be possible, I just saw that little guy a couple of months before.
Cool story, Thanks
@@donclanton701 he may have just blended in with the crowd had I not read a Creem or Circus (rock and roll) magazine the day before that had Zeppelins tour schedule and I noticed they were in Tampa within the next couple days. I just would have written it off as a guy that looks a lot like Robert Plant with a lady that looks a lot like his wife (recognized her from movie Song Remains The Same).
Do you II still have the photo?
@@MrDro1128 I actually have 2 of about 15 that I took. I loaned all but these 2 with the negatives to a friend that lost them. He's dead so I won't speak poorly of him. Only one photo was posed and the rest I took as they walked away.
@@autumn1231 Right on. Not a lot of people in the scheme of things were able to photograph themselves with musical history icons like that- in there prime.
That just makes the last 2 even that more special. Adding to the story that was created way back when.
Robert Plant,Jimmy Page, john paul Jones and John Bonham will forever be a Band that lives through their music for generations to come ..The Greatest of All Time ..
Robert and his friends changed my life. Started listening to Zep in '68/'69 and still listen today. Most of the music that I listened to growing has been thrown aside, but their music still gets right into my soul.
Same here, got to get the led out on my stroll everyday, with no respect to my ears, mostly Physical Graffiti.
Thanks for the love and support
Heard him take this same stroll down memory lane many times and I’ll happily, nay, eagerly listen every time I’m given a new chance. He’s magic. Still in very fine voice too. Saw him live 3 or 4 years ago and he stormed the stage with a ripping version of Trampled Under Foot. Brought tears to my eyes.
This man - like none before and none after - unleashed a sound we never thought possible... Thank you Mr Plant.
Robert is such a humble man …… giving his bands mates their share of the beautiful creations of Led Zeppelin’s work for all of those amazing years!! LZ is and will always be my most favorite band in existence!! Everything they’ve written and created are meaningful and exquisite!! I particularly love the blues influence!! Thank you LZ for everything!!

Mr. Plant is the epitome of a truly wonderful, warm, caring 60s/70s rock singer.
It is really glaring, the difference between the content of this interview and what you see from contemporary music personalities.
So true.
That is the difference between a artist vs. Performer. Today's music will never be authentic because it is read off a script. When Zeppelin and the Beatles were in business they spent months working on it so it was authentic!
@@rebellucy5610 there’s still a lot of great music today. You shouldn’t paint all current musicians under one brush.
❤️❤️❤️ Robert Plant, the Legend”! The one and only!!!
You're right
Nobody like Robert
If your 74 and you were a popular music buff in those days we all went to these shows called package tours in cinemas.and he’s younger than me.I remember seeing Zep at The Hornsey Wood Tavern Wood Green or Bluesville 69 on March the 7th 1969
What a fantastic speciman he is. No one compares.
He’s aged really well over the years. Looks and sounds as sharp as ever.
I love Robert Plant, thank you for the music, I hope we hear more.
Words can't describe the immense joy you've given the world through your songs and voice. You are the very best Sir. Thank you Robert . much love brother.
How grateful am I seeing Led Zeppelin Knebworth second show 1979. The song remains the same. Going to see JBlZE on 8/4 thank you for your music 😀💕💕
Robert Plant. The man, the myth, the legend. I am so glad I witnessed Led Zeppelin when I was a teen in 1977.
Very lucky indeed 😊😊😊😊
I was there too....madison square garden!!!
I saw them at the Oakland (CA) Coliseum, August, 1977. Highlight, and bragging rights, of my life. A coworker was saying how he saw some band, I said "I've seen Led Zeppelin", he says "Well, that trumps everything". Indeed!
That pretty much does trump everything .
I saw him in July of 77 at the Seattle Kingdome!
My favorite singer! The Best!
RP is not only the best and most endearing lead singer in the world, but he’s also a walking talking musical encyclopedia. Could listen to him for days.
I think Robert Is the greatest! His voice after all these years is SUPERB...and he has never allowed himself to be stagnant. Not many others of his contemporaries have accomplished as much artistically. Luv him!
When he said Jimmy, Jonesy and Bonzo I got a lump in my throat.
Me too
When the interviewer asks him how he was so great ino LZ, he answers : "The three others". Magnifique !

Thank you for uploading this splendid interview. Plant's words are poetic. What a lovely man. I was a great fan of his (and the Zep) in the '70's. Over the years, my appreciation of and admiration for him have only deepened. Wonderful.
Robert ❤️ You are intriguing!
I've been a fan of Robert Plant since the late 60's. When these artists tell the stories of how, when, where, it just makes my heart so happy ♥️ As the man said, Appreciate him while he still has a living presence ♥️ Thank You Robert and Led Zeppelin 🙏
BEAUTIFUL. It's been a magnificent indulgence in hearing and feeling all this music since my arrival in 1967. So so lucky.
I love this man. His lyrics and music has been the soundtrack of my life.

Err I think not.
Rodgers, a far superior singer, came before Plant.....and Coverdale was influenced by Rodgers.
@@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre1504 that’s not true, Coverdale himself used to tell people he was the Robert Plant of the 80s, even his ex-wife confirmed it. Rodgers and Plant started singing professionally in 1968. Rodgers and Coverdale are baritones Plant is a tenor.
@@audreycraig9433
You originally claimed Rodgers was influenced by Plant when that isn't true, as you've confirmed by the timeline of their careers.
Also I don't know why Coverdale would say that....as he has a far stronger, more versatile voice than Plant, plus Coverdale's career started in the 70s, it didn't begin in the 80s.

Forever love, an respect Robert always.
It always has amazed me how humble, kind and full of wisdom Robert Plant has been his entire life. While I personally wish he would of kept touring with Led Zeppelin during the "Celebration Day" concert, we do need to respect and appreciate what he is doing - especially at his age.
He told John Bonham's son that it's hard for him because he loved his father so much. I kind of get that. Bonzo was his childhood friend.
His voice was absoloutly amazing in that concert. I’d say better than even his younger years, but his voice wouldn’t hold out for a tour like it did during that show. That was a perfect one-off thing.
"Sometimes it was brilliant and sometimes it was not but it was exactly what it should've been"
I love that!
