Every day they had this education class where they would read and discuss about situation in the world. My dad did the reading most of the time and that day in september of 1980s, his commander said to him to read the todays news and it stared with the Iraq - Iran war, after the reading on that topic, my dad's comment was "It's not good, not good at all, brother took arms against another brother, and it is gonna be a carnage". It was kind of a foreshadowing since couple of months back Tito died and all of the army of Yugoslavia needed to arm up and be ready for the war for couple of days. Sad world we live in...

The US along with its allies (Soviet Union & Great Britain) defeated Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany. Then the US along with France & Great Britain used of their armies to impose a democratic republic on Japan and West Germany. This democratization done in 10 years. After 20 years of military occupation of Afghanistan, the Taliban Islamic Extremists are back in power. Absolutely amazing! If the Afghan people do not want to build a modern democratic republican society then the US Army cannot force it on them. If the Afghan people want to build their society based on their own beliefs then the Taliban Islamic Jihadis is right for them. The US has limited resources. The US does not have Saudi Arabia's oil reserves. After 20 years of US military occupation it is time to let the Afghans live the way they want to live. Prince Turk Al-Faisal said that the US made a deal with the Taliban excluding the Afghan Government. The Taliban has authority because it has enough Afghan support to seize political power with violence. The problem with the Afghan government the US put in place is that it has no legitimacy with the majority of the Afghan people. The Afghan people will not fight to keep it in power. There are more Afghan people who will support the Taliban Islamic Jihadis than the US-supported Afghan government. The Saudi Royal Family seized control of Arabia by defeating other contending clans in battle. Plus the Saudis got religious legitimacy by allying themselves with the Wahhabi Fundamentalists. What Prince Turk Al-Faisal is not making explicit is very important. In the Near-East, Middle-East, and Arabian Peninsula if you want to govern then you seize control by killing other contenders for power and paying homage to Religious Clerics who the common people will follow. That is what happened in the Middle Ages of Europe. That is the way the Saudis seized control of Arabia.

    Hasn't Kabul been liberated
from a 20-year unwanted foreign occupation?
Feb 2020, the US agreed to complete the evacuation by May 2021.
Hasn’t the US not only invaded Afghanistan for 20 years
to replace the Taliban with the ‘Taliban’?
While "cleaning up" the mess in Afghanistan is still under way
what country’s vice president is visiting Asia
strengthening its strategic structure around China
with the sole purpose of containing China?
