They put on one of the best live shows you will ever see. Rock isn't dead you just have to search for it, because they sure do play real rock on the radio. Black Crowes for life.
This has got to be one of the greatest live bands in the world today. These lyrics are really tricky and the way that Chris has handled the vocals is simply beautiful. This is Otis Reading quality and thats a compliment. Keep on rockin guys, This is how rock should be..
Thank you for this video, I also want to thank Chris, Rich, mostly you Marc, Steve, & Eddie for taken me under your wing and making me see thing's in my life for the first time with my musical career.......... Love You Guy's !!!!!!!!
i said farewell to my brother..my best friend..held my sweet daughters mother as she fought for her last breath and cried..held my grandmothers precious hand as the cancer took her from this world to the next..in the space of a few mos to a few days...give thanks for our hearts that drive us on
CROWES rule!!! Grew up in 70's&man the 80's SCARED ME.A few bands emerged in early90's that gave a little hope but with this 1st Album, especially this song, they were instantly one of my faves. STILL ARE!!! ROCK ON CHRIS&RICH! THANKS FOR POST!!
Fist time I saw them was at the Eddie Graham Sports Stadium in Orlando. Within a few months of it's release, everyone knew most of the songs on that album. One of the best shows I have ever seen.
This song is unbelievably real and raw. And you only get it if you have felt this kind of pain an betrayal. Best somebody screwed me over song of all time and I doubt there will ever be a better one.
I'm actually more of a Southern Harmony girl myself ;) But I do enjoy SYMM. Wasn't looking for the hits...just an amazing night and that's what they gave me. Played some old songs and some new songs and it was just awesome. And they played "Soul Singing" which is my favorite. They're all amazing musicians...definitely want to see them again.
Oh man! Quality, rediscovered the Crowes, had a tape in my car years ago (shake yer money maker) saw em play in 1991ish at Monsters of rock, just had to go and buy several of their albums, love it!!
Saw them at a venue at Deep Ellum in Dallas. Someone knocked a sink off the wall. The whole place was four inches deep in water.... Nobody moved... They're that good live...
MrIbanezs6 Bummed about the hiatus as well... but after all these years of touring, I can't blame any band for taking a long break. And given the tensions they've dealt with over the years, it amazes me they still get out there. Saw them in Hampton, NH Sunday night and was blown away. But that room hold 2200. Small theaters now it seems, despite how good the last couple of recording were.
when god handed out soul chris stood in line three times, what a sight he is,the whole band, the horns, the backup singers, his brother, marc ford, listen up young people, they dont make music like this anymore.J
@dennisengelhart I loved your comment. I once had a dream that, upon wakening, prompted me to quit my job, move out of my apartment, and change my whole life.....THAT very morning. There is something SO important to me about knowing that we are truly unconditionally in control of our lives; and that we exercise the right to prove it from time to time. Thanks for being inspiring, and for being a fellow, daring captain of your own soul. Peace.
Possibly the only band we have today with heart n' soul. I wonder if he's singing about his relationship with Kate Hudson. Now over. Who in their right mind leaves a man like, Chris Robinson???
Find it hard to shed a tear Brought it on yourself, my dear And wrong, yes, I may be, Don't leave a light on for me 'cause I ain't comin' home It hurts me baby, to be alone Yes, it hurts me baby. One hundred years will never ease There are days I won't believe I saw it with my own two eyes All the pain, I can't hide And this pain, starts in my heart And this love, tears us apart now! Won't find me bent down, on my knees Oh, yeah, Ain't bending over backwards, not to please Oh, no 'Cause I'm seeing things, for the first time I'm seeing things, for the first time I'm seeing things, for the first time In my life In my life, yeah And oh how I used to dream Of better days that never came And sorry ain't nothing to me I'm gone, and that's the way it must be So please, I've done my time Loving you is such a crime You won't find me down, on my knees Oh no no no Won't find me over backwards, just to please Oh, yeah 'Cause I'm seeing things, for the first time I'm seeing things, for the first time I'm seeing things, for the first time In my life In my life, yeah
@blinkmefx then you've never been there live and felt the incredible connection the crowes make to their audience. I've seen them live three times - once wehn the opened for tom petty, and the Crowes are the most underrated act in rock today.
Chris is not a very talented vocalist? He's got one of the most distinctive and emotive voices I've ever heard. I don't mind if you don't like it, but don't call him untalented when he's got endless amounts of it...
Britt: You are going to absolutely love it. But do NOT have any expectations for the old big "hits", otherwise, you'll be disappointed. The concert may change your life! haha But look out for sound quality, good jams, was Chris in a playful mood? Did Chris & Luther get in some wicked solos? You'll be very lucky if they do a couple of cover tunes.. but listen and appreciate what you're hearing. Allow them to play it. If you want old hits, sell your ticket, stay at home, listen to SYMM. ENJOY! :)
there were some truly amazing 90s bands [think early 90s pacific northwest] but you're right about the black crowes being the most underrated band ever... I still get laughed at when I tell people they're one of the best American bands of all time. For some reason everyone thinks they're from this bygone era of rock n' roll, must be the curse of having existed between hair metal and the complete annihilation of talent from pop radio/mtv circa 1997.
I literally got chills listening to this. What a voice!! This band has so much soul.
Dying breed!! they are one of the last true rock & roll bands still keepin it alive!!!!!
They put on one of the best live shows you will ever see. Rock isn't dead you just have to search for it, because they sure do play real rock on the radio. Black Crowes for life.
Heart and SOUL...sing it Chris!!!! badass blues right here!
Shake your money maker could be one of the best albums of the nineties!
Of all time.
This has got to be one of the greatest live bands in the world today. These lyrics are really tricky and the way that Chris has handled the vocals is simply beautiful. This is Otis Reading quality and thats a compliment. Keep on rockin guys, This is how rock should be..
One of the most amazing songs out there hard to top this one when it comes to moving on..
Thank you for this video, I also want to thank Chris, Rich, mostly you Marc, Steve, & Eddie for taken me under your wing and making me see thing's in my life for the first time with my musical career.......... Love You Guy's !!!!!!!!
absolutely one of the most beautiful songs/performances i've ever heard. played straight from the heart man, sweet sweet music :)
i said farewell to my brother..my best friend..held my sweet daughters mother as she fought for her last breath and cried..held my grandmothers precious hand as the cancer took her from this world to the next..in the space of a few mos to a few days...give thanks for our hearts that drive us on
In my humble opinion...the best soul band in the last 20 years. Utter passion.

Kat Hamilton AMEN, Sister.
eu adoro the black crowes
the crowes remind me of the crowes. an american original. period
Find it hard to shed a tear
Brought it on yourself, my dear
And wrong, yes, I may be,
Don't leave a light on for me
'cause I ain't comin' home
It hurts me baby, to be alone
Yes, it hurts me baby.
One hundred years will never ease
There are days I won't believe

All the pain, I can't hide
And this pain, starts in my heart
And this love, tears us apart now!
Won't find me bent down, on my knees
Oh, yeah,
Ain't bending over backwards, not to please
Oh, no
'Cause I'm seeing things, for the first time
I'm seeing things, for the first time
I'm seeing things, for the first time
In my life
In my life, yeah
And oh how I used to dream
Of better days that never came
And sorry ain't nothing to me
I'm gone, and that's the way it must be
So please, I've done my time
Loving you is such a crime
You won't find me down, on my knees
Oh no no no
Won't find me over backwards, just to please
Oh, yeah
'Cause I'm seeing things, for the first time
I'm seeing things, for the first time
I'm seeing things, for the first time
In my life
In my life, yeah

Awesome statement. The Crowes rule!

Nazareth is who this song reminds me of. Look up and listen to "Love Hurts"
Amen. Now I can go to sleep.
