Saw them last night in Manchester (11/7/11) and they were INCREDIBLE. The Allman Brothers jamming with the Grateful Dead. One of the best gigs I've seen in 30+ years. Get to Shepherds Bush!!!!
Saw them on : The Amorica Or Bust Tour. They were called: The O.D. JUBILEE BAND. At The 9:30 Club in D.C. with about 300 people!!! Still one of the best shows I’ve EVER been to!! And I’ve been to hundreds!! Seen them about 14 times.
Croweology out on the 3rd Aug ladies and gents and then Heckle n Jeckle are taking a well earned siesta.Consistently the best rock n roll of my band my generation ive seen them every time since 90 and it looks like im going to have to hop over the pond as they dont seem to be doing anything in the UK .
Amorica was one of those special albums, kinda like "Layla"- something sublime that came out of a time of chaos and turmoil- IMHO the best the Crowes did with the possible exception of "Southern Harmony & Musical Companion" This version is exceptional!
Wow. I was older than you when I first heard it. And I first heard it the day amorica album launched. Thanks for making me feel REALLY old, you young bugger you.
@@harrytrent13 Hehe. I'm shaking my walking stick at you now, as I shout this: "YOU YOUNG BUGGER YOU, GET AWAY FROM MY GARDEN!!!!!" That's about how old I feel now, thank you very much :)
Amorica is the American "Sticky Fingers" to me. Berated because it was supposedly made under the influence, which it probably was but there are some HUGE songs on this album. Wiser Time, Ballad in Urgency, Conspiracy, Gone,.......I will just say the entire album.
@zandig7 Dude you have just made my year!!,i did go to the filly in SF and saw them on the Wednesday show, they were fundamentally brilliant and they really put a shift in.Always worth going to Amsterdam as well as they tend to smoke n chill a bit more(if thats possible!!) for the Dutch shows. Looks l ike id better book some time off work!!.Thanks for the nod, heard rumours but didnt see anything released.

I lose myself I forget myself Sometimes I fault myself I might fight myself But then I make amends I freeze myself Rain on myself OK, so I stone myself And I might even find myself But then again what happens if I do So unzip my pride Open me up wide So I can show this to you [Chorus:] I want to shine for you I want to sparkle too Just like a diamond cursed Well you know it don't get worse You know that I'll save you time Your trouble now is mine Hold me baby Hold me [Chorus]
Hold me baby Hold me girl And I will laugh with you If you want me to Roll me in your splendor I'll envy your surrender And show you victory I hate myself Doesn't everybody hate themselves I scare myself Then I tell myself it's all in my mind So I let the poison go 'Cause I always know It will be there for me [Chorus]
One of the best live albums ever made. Freak N' Roll - Black Crowes.
The story of my life. The written word, the delivery, the vocals, the whole package is perfection..
The second greatest living soul singer. Long love the good Rev. Al Green
This whole album is so well done.
Always loved the crowes, listening to rock and metal 95% of my life, the sound they make is so satisfying ❤
Being a Marine Iraq/Afgan, This song saved me. It Def. made me see what I killed but also realize what I FOUGHT FOR. Semper FI.

Something incredibly sublime...
Some of the best shit …!!!
completely agree.have a look at some early faces songs with rod stewart singing its not a million miles away
In my opinion, one of their best. Live, see them in a small venue and you will get your money's worth and then some.
aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Phenomenal band. Seen 'em live 3 times. Gonna pick up with 'em again... 13/7 (7/13) at Shepherd's Bush Empire... and scream the f@*$ing house down. :)
Mates of the darkest nights .... always!
AMAZINGLY RIGHT ON
I lose myself
I forget myself
Sometimes I fault myself
I might fight myself
But then I make amends
I freeze myself
Rain on myself
OK, so I stone myself
And I might even find myself
But then again what happens if I do
So unzip my pride
Open me up wide
So I can show this to you
[Chorus:]
I want to shine for you
I want to sparkle too
Just like a diamond cursed
Well you know it don't get worse
You know that I'll save you time
Your trouble now is mine
Hold me baby
Hold me
[Chorus]
terriblemente bueno, me trasmite una onda muy calmada esta gente!
Killer album
Aj, you are elegant and weird and beautiful. Thank you for being my friend.
I was there
Amazing...no surprise
marc ford king of slide!
Mark Fork He kicks ass.
My song. 💎
119 people have the right idea, 1 person clearly has lost their mind.
Roll me in your splendour.
Hold me baby
Hold me girl
And I will laugh with you
If you want me to
Roll me in your splendor
I'll envy your surrender
And show you victory
I hate myself
Doesn't everybody hate themselves
I scare myself
Then I tell myself it's all in my mind
So I let the poison go
'Cause I always know
It will be there for me
[Chorus]
effing ❤ this
Who is the guy playing the slide guitar?? Man what a song !!!!!
Marc Ford!!!!!

Awesome version!
He's such a great singer.
By the way does anyone know what year this was?
Cool
@GrantStoke dude uk in july 2011 enjoy !!!
No two guitarists every played better together than Rich and Marc. Well, Dickie and Duane, but the Crowes would say that.
Lyrics are in the song comments. Great song. :)
F'n Marc Ford FTW!!!!!!!

@EricBoston1992 Augost, 2005

I think Marc Ford was the greatest lead guitar for the Crowes. Not by much though.
