  • Well I bought another car! I bought the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab. The 2022 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab is Chevy's long standing Mid-Size pickup truck and it definitely needs an update! The 2022 Chevy Colorado LT Crew Cab has a boat load of capability, including hauling a boat with a load! Do I think the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado LT stacks up with the rest of the many, many other choices for pickup trucks? Watch today's video and find out for yourself!

    Great review. I love mine for the same reasons you mention. It's utilitarian, it's practical, it's got just enough tech and comfort for what I need, and I can haul my kids and stuff in the back, and tow if needed. My wife's minivan and my previous car (a Buick Encore GX) were loaded with tech and driver assist features and I used almost NONE of them. The only gripes I have about the Colorado are: 1. Lack of pushbutton/keyless operation and keyless entry. 2. Wonky door panel storage areas. The only thing that fits in mine is a rolled up pair of work gloves. Nothing else. No umbrella, phone, tie downs, etc. Kind of odd on a truck. Otherwise, I love my Colorado.

    That was a smart upgrade. I know new car prices are crazy now, but so are used car prices. For the last yr, I’ve been telling my family members to selling their existing cars and use the equity for a new car. if they could find a new car at msrp or better, they would come out ahead, especially since their current cars are out of warranty and will probably need repair soon.

    I just picked up a 2022 Black LT model but without the lux package you mention. Same feeling - it does everything I’ll probably ever need and in the daily drive it is a super quiet and comfortable ride. Glad I found your channel by doing this search to finalize my purchase ! Cheers !

    Honestly this review was fantastic. I have a 22 LT same color w/ the convience package as well. It is comfortable, practical, utilitarian, and very just nostalgic and knows what it is in my opinion. My only gripe honestly is the sliding back window not being power is extremely annoying. Other than that it is fantastic and IMO the best of the mid size class.

    Great review... how would you feel about towing a 6x12 utility trailer and an 1100 lbs zero turn mower 5 days a week. I'm beginning a lawn and landscape business and am looking for something dependable to run my business out of without breaking the bank. And again, really well done video... fun and informative! 👍👍

    I'm really liking the colorado, I have a 2000 ranger with 185k on it still going but she's seen some better days, im in the kitchen cabinet buisness and I also service residential garage doors, so a pick up is always a must have for me. In my opinion the colorado is a good bang for the buck in today's market. I have a 2015 corolla s plus that just hit 50k its in mint condition and I am very tempted to trade in for a 2022 colorado with 4wd.

      If I were you I’d wait for the ‘23, but then again they’re getting rid of the 6 cylinder after the 22. I actually don’t need the capability like I thought anymore and would love a compact SUV at this point.

    I have the 2020 Z71 V6 and I like the truck a lot. I agree what he says about the interior, its all hard plastic. The only soft touch vinyl is the center arm rest in both front and back seat.

    almost the same story here - it tried to get my hands on a Maverick but couldn't realistically - there seemed to be a lot of Canyons dumped onto the lots in Dec and Jan - so I bought a 2022 Canyon crew elevation and I'm glad that I did. Mine is also a 2WD - but I have the tow package, so it has the locking rear differential, which is nice to have since we get considerable snow in my area. I think it's an outstanding value for what you get.....I'll probably put Katzkins in later this year - and seat heaters at the same time :D

    I have the EXACT same truck, color and all, except without the luxury package, and absolutely LOVE it. I agree with all the pros, except I actually liked the previous generation grille a little bit better. As for the cons, I actually LIKE the interior the way it is. It has everything you really need and nothing you don't. I like that is basic and fairly easy to clean, something important for a truck, and it looks just fine to me. I'm not a fan of interiors where things look horribly out of proportion (Like the infotainment screen on the 23's) or look too busy. I don't like the interior on the new generation even HALF as much as this truck. I also don't want my instrument panel to look like a video game. For those wondering about towing, I have already towed a full size car on a 7000K car trailer multiple times , as well as a large load of scrap metal on the same trailer, and the truck performs FLAWLESSLY. As for MY cons, the transmission is too clunky for me at low speeds like in a parking lot, and sometimes it gives you a little kick in the butt coming up to a stop. Otherwise, it is fine. I also agree that the door cubbies are pretty much useless, a real miss there, the under rear seat storage compartment construction wastes a lot of usable space, and all the front lighter and USB ports are switched with the key. ONLY the backseat USB's are hot all the time, so don't put something up front to charge unless the key is on. The front of the cab is VERY roomy, the back is about what you would expect from a mid size, really no worse than a small car or compact SUV. Under the hood, even with the V6, everything is EXTREMELY easy to get to. I got one of the last 22's built and only paid 34K. A lot of used ones were (and still are) going for more than that. A great truck for road trips, and have already got 24+ MPG in mixed driving. I consistently get 21.5 in my city commute.

    I’m deciding on a Frontier or Tacoma but I’m researching the Colorado also. I just don’t trust General Motors products for reliability and longevity. Good video though.

    • @SparkPlugTV
      @SparkPlugTV  5 месяцев назад

      I think that’s a misnomer honestly. As long as you maintain it properly it shouldn’t give you any issues. JD power actually scored the Tacoma at an 82 on a reliability rating as opposed to the frontier and colorados 83. I’ve had nothing but GMs most of my life and never had any issues.

    You did a good thing getting the Colorado or a canyon is fine too they feel the most comfortable and more power for ur buck plus even without a 4x4 u have enough power in those back wheels to get through some sticky Mudd situations just need some mud tires to get through just about anything cause these trucks have power

  • @christamez734

    Gay gasp, I appreciate the review. Thinking of trading my 22 Corsair for a 22 Canyon and the V6 is the main reason. I had a 16 CTS and the 3.6L V6 is a gem. The interior is the downfall as you mentioned but it is kinda nostalgia and I need something to tow a pop up.

    Just picked up a 22’ Canyon Elevation. There are a few more differences between the Colorado LT and the Elevation beyond the leather stitching, mostly related to styling, the front grill and fog lights are different on the Canyon and the wheels are blacked out. You can upgrade those halogen headlights to LEDs with a conversion kit. There are also “plug and play” LEDs available. Find a local custom shop and they’ll install them for prolly less than a couple hundred bucks

    It's ok u don't need daytime running lights now ur battery will last longer the only thing they needed to do was put 265 tires on these 17 rims not 255 but it's ok and you do get 25 to 27 on the highway there great on saving gas best truck out there

    How are these vehicles on rust?

    • @richardhertz8996
      @richardhertz8996 8 месяцев назад

      That is the million dollar question. The 2015's are old enough that in my neck of the woods, if they are going to to rust, it will start soon. SUPPOSEDLY, improvements have been made from both the previous generation Colorado AND Silverado. Time will tell. Because I plan on keeping my truck until I drop dead, I immediately had it rust proofed with the Corrosion Free System, and had the body coated with System X lifetime ceramic coating. Expensive, but if it works, it will be worth it. Mechanically i can keep them going forever. Not much I can do with a rusty mess.
