I’m very happy with my 2019 zr2. Black edition with everything black. Just watch out for the temperature gauge on less than 210 degrees because it’s going to fail and the thermostat will go out. Causing the fan to go full blast sending fuel into cylinder causing it to wash oil off rings. The usb port will stick and drain battery every morning. The transmission will shutter until you change out the recommended fluid that’s dexos synthetic blend. Use full synthetic oil and transmission fluid.

Honestly that lack of a push button start and less overall tech is a positive compared to the 23+.

Passed on one of these the other day because of the 8% interest - which is just about the best you can get right now on a used truck even with PERFECT credit - I couldn't bring myself to give the bank that much EXTRA of my money. Nice truck though.

And change the front, rear and transfer case the day you purchase the truck because it will be very dirty in all these. Use full synthetic everything

You nailed this review. Everything you said is right on target including the pluses and minuses. We bought this exact truck a few days ago. It looks amazing in the white and the ride and handling are excellent. I originally was targeting a 2023 model with updated looks and increased bells and whistles inside, but ultimately decided we would be happy with the current truck instead of having to wait (as long as a year to get a reasonable deal unless the economy crashes) as well as being significantly more expensive when all is said and done. Regardless of price, we think this 2022 version of the truck would have caught our attention anyway due to everything you have mentioned in this video. The money we saved pretty much purchased a GM extended warranty and A.R.E. truck cap which is a nice bonus. Could not be happier so far!

Thanks for watching! And yes I agree with you on waiting for the 2023 - it would likely take over a year and probably cost quite a bit more than the 2022. The 2022 is already incredibly capable and great bang for the buck! Congrats on the new ride!

From what I have read the 2023s only come on 2.7 turbos instead of the V6. That's the only reason I decided to go 22 over 23 model

@@tjames525 I am hearing reports of turbo lag in the 23's. I dislike turbo lag. The 22 has amazing throttle control and response. Really impressed with the truck so far. ARE cap and bed rug goes on in one week. Also, ordered an aftermarket bumper so we can get it set up to tow behind our motorhome. One last thing, I initially liked the new looks of the 23's but I started to turn a little sour on it, but I don't know just why yet. Maybe it's just trying too hard.

I am really impressed as well. I have a feeling they are going to lose alot of costumers due to only offering the 2.7 turbo. What a terrible idea, especially trying to go to that in their full sized trucks too.

@@tjames525 you’re way off on the 2.7 turbo. It’s an amazing engine and is faster and more powerful then the 5.3 I’m the Silverado. Once you drive one with the 2.7 you will see what everyone else says after they drive it. It is way way faster and more powerful then the 3.6 in the old Colorado. It has 155lbft more torque so you can definitely feel the difference between the 2 engines. The new 2023 Colorados are hitting the dealers right now so you wouldn’t have to wait a year

Don’t fall for Chevys dexos scam. RUclips has information about it. It’s just crappy synthetic blend. Trust me I’m experienced every problem I’ve mentioned. Hopefully I’ll be able to enjoy the truck soon and hopefully the bad will stop.
