I think I’ve said this before but the advocacy that Rory does for the outdoors through his actions and vocal support of cleaning up trash and trail awareness is awesome. I hope the community follows suit. Thank you
100% truth. That’s why I liked the wrecked gear RUclips stuff - every episode they emphasize cleaning up your trash, my trash, and their trash. We need to keep trails clean. If you have to dump stuff out, do it in big cities - they live that stuff
Mine did great I had bfg all terrain tires and it went on every trail in Moab back in 1992 except lions back but I took my scout up that the same weekend that Blazer came off of it at mach Jesus @@jeffclark2725
I always enjoy the 'NO, NO, NO, NO!!' when someone does something dumb and they just aren't hearing you. Sorry to say I have been the recipient of such instruction my own self once or twice. LOL.
Mike is a great camera man and story teller! Cudos to Rory for calling out the guy going off the trail.. Definitely a t shirt saying.. Stay on the trail or stay home.
Yeez, shouting Rory makes me hide in my office chair. But i love the mindset and integrity! Keep it up, maybe some people might get it some day. Thanks!
"Stay on the trail or stay home!" Love it!🤩... That looked like a cute little golf course buggy 😂 "Bad driving makes for good video"... let everyone do what they do best! You guys are a great balanced team! 🤩 WOW... your client was gone... that really sucks! 🤨 Thanks for sharing... and the rock art is beautiful 🙂
Mike is, indeed, a great cameraman, and according to the Mike and Shawn Show (the channel) he always loves working on vehicles. We can't all be great at everything.
If it wasn't for Mike the camera man we wouldn't be able to see the awesomeness of Utah. I'm planning to go there this year and hope to meet the trailmater team and others. MORR, ROBBY, and FAB RATS, ETC,ETC,ETC. 😅
Those side-by-sides at the beginning were following Rory just out of instincts - because they know a breakdown is not a question of "if" but more one of "when"... 😂😁😜
Rory’s passion about his sport is honest. He takes care of his family and workers with recovery and repairs on the trail. Follow the rules or the GOAT will get you.
When TrailMater is parked by the shop you should put a sunshade in the windshield that has Tow Mater eyes on it. 😎 👁👁 I can't say enough about the scenery, love it 👍
Im from Oklahoma and saw that OK tag. Guy should know about trail closures. Until the late 80's we had a million acres of open ride, open range in SE Oklahoma. Then people abused that and its now less than 20,000 acres.
Crossing over on that beam was like what i tried to do when we were playing hid & seek . But it was a 8 inch pipe along the wall 15 feet up . I got halfway and couldn't move. I lost when I cried out get the ladder. We had a lot of fun in that skating rink in Vegas
Rory and Shawn made our day posting this video to cheer us up. After bringing the trailer through all of that rough country Rory and Shawn used Trail Mater to lift up the sxs and repaired it and the customer drove it out! That was hilarious about "this is why we don't let Mike drive"!
Your creative repair skills are second to none. I'm impressed every time. I learn so much. I used to do a lot of repairs on my vehicles. It is not easy with off the shelf parts, nevermind making your own. Another beautiful scenic drive.
"We'll be fine on the creek crossing." After all it's not Onion Creek... 🙂Hey I always ask before helping someone if they have already called and have someone on the way. The other day I asked a woman with a dead battery. She said AAA was on the way so I said I let them take care of it. Helping strangers get unstuck is an amusing experience. Usually just as I get them unstuck, they "help" and dig new holes to start over.
anyone who had the sense to call you should know that you would always show up. Or at the least notify you it the situation changed. there should be a minimum charge of some sort right up front. Not too big and dependent on approximate distance to the tow or fix. Returned if they notify you ahead of the time of your departure to them. It would really suck to lose all the time spent when you could have been taking care of the next job on the list, especially for that customers sake. As usual thanks a lot for the video.
I don't blame the customer, I will always take the help of someone who is there over someone who is on their way, but it is also a great example of why tow companies do (or should) get pre-payment before they head out. Nobody wants to drive for 4+ hours for nothing.
I love watching a snake of side x sides picking their way through small rocks and they look up and see Trailmater, towing a trailer, trundle passed them as though it was on the highway.
Rory, i appreciate and respect how you follow and enforce the rules on the trails. Someday i would really like to visit Moab, once my truck is finished, and if not for people like you, i would never get to visit because it would be closed from people violating the rules. So thank you!
I can relate, drove 50 miles to fix a broken truck and in 1hour and 15 minutes there was a tow truck picking it up when I got there in 1 hour 20 minutes. Makes your day.
At 10:12 ta about 11:00 the view is super awesome. Your skillset - I'm jealous. Hey let's pull up to some broken rig from Oklahoma in upper Utah, assess, prep, repair and "we're out of here, have a nice day." gg guys God bless
Nice job on the sxs. Love to see all the scenery. Those were some awesome pictographs and petroglyphs. Makes you wonder what they were looking at when they drew those???
You got to make the T shrit now you said it. Stay on the trail or stay home. Great job guy's keep up the great work and stay safe. Thanks for the video.
Great vid as always! We never (ever!) went off trail with our YXZ...but I must confess we did one time last year with our Samurai. It was on the north side of Baxter Pass, and the road had huge washouts that got worse until they were above my ability. Didn't really want to go back through the ones we had come through, when a group of motobikers came along. One of them who lived sort of nearby told us to go back 100yds, turn west then north and there would be "a nice trail through a meadow". LOL. No trail, no meadow! Ran over a lot of sage but made it through to where the road was graded. Will not make that mistake again! And in our defense, it wasn't a real desert area and the stuff we drove over was probably grown back in a month. We do have Rory's number in our phones just in case, but there usually isn't any signal where we go. And btw, if we called and successfully extracted before the team's arrival, we would for sure wait where we could meet and at the very least pay for their time and gas.
That bracket at the rear of the Polaris that was fixed by 8:00 in the video looks rather weak. Like maybe it was designed to drive around farms instead of rough rocky terrain. I second the idea of a T-shirt that says "Stay on the trail or stay home!".
New t shirt idea "STAY ON THE TRAIL OR STAY HOME!"
Were these rentals and the operators did not know any better? Or were these the typical sxs operator and just not care?
Someone REALLY needs to make that!
Second that. I'd buy it.
I want one.
Buddy of mine says "STAY THE TRAIL OR GO TO JAIL" and honestly it's gotten to a point where that should be a thing.
My kids heard the no, no, no and thought I was yelling at the dog-the dad raised voice to stop something dumb is pretty universal!
I think I’ve said this before but the advocacy that Rory does for the outdoors through his actions and vocal support of cleaning up trash and trail awareness is awesome. I hope the community follows suit. Thank you

Tread Lighly
the morons who want to close trails are treehugger types who dont want any offroad, never mind responsible offroad,
Remember the days in Moab before side by sides? Oh the good old days!
I also miss EJS 2020 edition. Lockdown was bliss.
How did VW Baja bugs do on the back roads there, years ago
@@jeffclark2725 I drove my Baja on nearly every trail around here. Some of my best memories.
Job security for Trail Mater. lol

My favorite part of this video, besides the magnificent country, is Rory's admonition, "Stay On The Trail Or Stay Home".
Heck, Mike is 1/3 of the reason I watch this channel.
Only 1/3? He's 2/6 of the reason I watch! 😃
The driving with Mike portion of the video gave me flashbacks to when I was teaching my daughter how to drive. "Go! GO FASTER!"
Mike is a great camera man and story teller! Cudos to Rory for calling out the guy going off the trail.. Definitely a t shirt saying.. Stay on the trail or stay home.
OMG Mike...lmao!!! Love Trail Mater Rory! Thanks for sharing guys.
Rory have you thought about putting the phrase Stay on the Trail or stay home on your merch? I love the saying and very true words in every way
Looking at that sxs compared to Mater I’m reminded of the old trash bag commercial… “wimpy, wimpy, wimpy… HEFTY, HEFTY, HEFTY!” 😂 Another great video!
GenX representing!
@@EatDrinkBeMerry Ahhh, but do you know the commercial? 😂👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
Yeez, shouting Rory makes me hide in my office chair. But i love the mindset and integrity! Keep it up, maybe some people might get it some day. Thanks!
Mike's driving has the SAR motto...."So that others may live." 😅
I think Rory said NO in this video. Anyone else hear him 😂😂😂😂
That's how my parents spoke to me, so I may be a little tone deaf to that
Rory is trying to keep our country OPEN!!!!
Loud and clear 😂 😂😂
Sometimes you gotta raise ya voice to avoid issues ❤
He even said it in Spanish
Great scenery and recoverys...Mike shots filming are epic
@11:00 It was safety 3rd that day...😆😆
We love you, Mike. You're a great cameraman!!!🤙
Love when Rory lets the anger out, Only wish Mike had been there to say something snarky
You guys have the best workplace I have ever seen, Smiling on your way to work. Pretty damn nice.
"Stay on the trail or stay home!" Love it!🤩... That looked like a cute little golf course buggy 😂 "Bad driving makes for good video"... let everyone do what they do best! lol , my local Mall has a few exactly like these to collect stray shopping carts
Yea,and he gets it patched together and starts hammering on the little thing again, didn't look for an easy line to go
0:59 I love how gently you take the water crossing, Rory. Surely the old dog hasn't learned a new trick...right? LOL
Or it could be the 1 1/2' ledge on either side of the creek...
YES !! Stay on the trail OR stay home !!!! Been watching for about 2-3 years keep them videos coming !!!!!

Rory, Shawn and Mike ... The Boys of Moab, always providing great entertainment !
Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should. Stay on the trail!
Hey Trailmater team I got my new Diamond Billed Rock Pecker shirt and it's awesome Thanks
love the sound of that Big Block doing work, good to see Trailmater out doing his thing
Thanks again! Take this old Iowan places I would never get to otherwise. Appreciate that.
I still love the fact that any one that I have seen stand near Rory looks small no matter how big their egos might be.
Hmmm. "Bad driving makes good content." I'll have to remember that! Nice scenery!
We used to camp at that swinging bridge when I was a kid and it was the only bridge. Loved seeing that!
When TrailMater is parked by the shop you should put a sunshade in the windshield that has Tow Mater eyes on it. 😎 👁👁 I can't say enough about the scenery, love it 👍

Petroglyphs look sorta similar to Quinkins drawn in Australia by Aborigines. Thanks for showing them!
A perfect video -- gorgeous scenery, a trail repair, a comedic interlude, and some ancient rock art. Thanks for everything.
Glad to see a kneeling/work pad, take care of those young knees.

yes on the new t shirt adea needs to be on sings to.

One trail repair and one getting help from someone else. so time for some site seeing. That is a great wall of ancient art!
Part of the reason the videos are so good is how you guys get along so well , nice work.
Way to keep ‘em on the trail 😂if Rory yelled at me like that I would have to check my shorts he’s like a dad yelling at you ❤
I thought dude was going to drive off a cliff judging from how excited rory was.4:58
Nice job on the sxs. Love to see all the scenery. Those were some awesome pictographs and petroglyphs. Makes you wonder what they were looking at when they drew those???
I was just at Buckhorn Draw over the weekend! The wedge overlook is something people should get to see.
Thanks for the beautiful scenery

Meanwhile, somewhere in Utah...TRAILMATER camera man Mike...always gets the best landscape images!
Mike you do a great job of filming…..! 💪

Seeing that cabbed side by side and then seeing Trailmater in the same spot; it almost looks like Rory's rig is just a scaled up UTV with a boom.....
That was a petroglyph of a Diamond Bill Rock Pecker. You didn't see it? Lol
That is a very short wheelbase and high center of gravity on that Polaris. Not sure that would be my first, or secomd choice for that area.
Always enjoy the ride alongs, thats not Sand Hollow, stay on the trail, thumbs up, great video
