  • I made you some killer triad charts to help you learn major and minor triad sets on the GBE stringset. This is how you learn the guitar neck in a way that is musical and really matters. Keep going and let me know what you think of this kind of guitar lesson.

    I’m really loving the demo part where you play over a loop. I think it shows us how the theory can be applied and it sounds cool as hell!

      @@mrelmoresmusiclabshe’s absolutely right! My one dumb question is how do we change what key it is in? Is it moving the shape so the root is the right note we want to hit? Thanks! And of course jellyfish as always!

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab  Месяц назад +1

      Great question. Just learn the charts exactly like I showed you those shapes. Move them wherever you want and focus on the root just like you said. That's kind of why I kept telling you to focus on the root positions so you know the key. Take your time and just connect the dots slowly. You will get it. :)

    Very impressed with the videos.. Especially your video uploaded 2 days ago. It's a practical way of playing that I needed to tie everything else I've learned together.. A sort of intermediary rhythm in the middle fret pentatonic zone.

    Jellyfish! Been playing for over 30 years - sometimes with people - but mostly by myself and sometimes I wonder why I bother. I sing - so mostly been playing singer/songwriter stuff in folk/southern rock/country genres. Also, learned to Travis pick about 10 years ago, which I love to do. Can do some Chet Atkins type music. This past Friday, visiting a small town with my wife and friends, ran into a small wine shop where they had some guys on acoustic. My wife and friends kept telling me I needed to play with them. They had an extra guitar and invited me to play. 2 hours later - we all had a great time! These types of lessons are helping me slowly break out of ruts and making old songs new again. Even a 53 YO can get better. Thank you.

    how is the intonation on that wrap around bridge ? Just curious are all the notes in tune up and down the neck ? Thanks !

    • @mrelmoresmusiclab
      @mrelmoresmusiclab  3 дня назад

      Great question and funny you should ask. So...Ioooove this guitar more than anything. The intonation can be a bit tricky. I put a compensated Mojoaxe bridge on there and it helped. Still wasn't quite where I wanted it. I mean it's pretty close, but can get a bit off past the 12th fret. Mostly the usual suspect G string.
      One interesting thing is that I changed from playing 10s to 9.5s and it got even better. Made me thing maybe the nut wasn't quite cut right. I just took into my luthier last week and he's going to check the nut and see how good he can get it. If it's still not dialed into the way I like I'm going to put a tailpiece with adjustable saddles. I want to keep the mojoaxe on there because it sounds really good. We shall see, but I want to play this thing live and I don't want to even think about intonation. Works fine for the studio or home use, but I play all my guitars pretty hard and they need to hold up. ha. Hope that makes sense.

      @@mrelmoresmusiclab thanks for the reply great guitars I have a 1991 version that were made for the Japanese market( so I'm told lol) with P100's and mini kidney shaped grovers, I had to make a few upgrades including P90's which makes the guitar what it really is, a tone monster. The neck on mine is a super slim 60's profile that feels like it was custom made for my hand( small hands) and I have never felt such a comfortable neck before and I'm old, lol Anyway great guitar lessons I just found your channel, Your Special sounds wonderful good luck going forward, Oh forgot to mention, I use a little bit of pencil shavings in the nut it really helps with the tuning too, Like night and day. Peace !

      Your guitar sounds amazing. Mine has a bigger neck, which I love. P90 are one of my favorite pick ups and sound incredible. That’s great that yours feels so good in your hands. That’s what it’s all about.
      Thanks for checking out the channel and there’s lots more to come. Keep on rocking that amazing guitar. 😃
      And thanks for the tip with the pencil shavings. That’s a great idea right now. I have a bit of graphite paste in there that seems to help too. Overall, it’s a pretty solid instrument.
