- Katie is a food thief and Franklin needs to have a high-H20 diet to help prevent his cystitis. We think we found the perfect solution to our dilemma using microchip pet feeders. Let's see if the cats can learn how to use them, and if we can foil Kaden's bad eating habits!

I bought the non-chip version a few years ago so that flies could not get on outdoor cats food. Believe it or not, the neighborhood possum figured out how to use it!
May I ask climate conditions vs service? We've had possums and a raccoon problems when leaving food out. Shop has a pet door as well.
buy the one that opens w microchip! I love mine!
@@cheerdiver ?????? I'm sorry for not answering. I just did see the comment (1 year later).
I'm so glad you showed actually setting up the bowls as you did it, learning curves and everything. That way we can learn with you!
So glad you found it helpful! The cats didn't seem to have much of a learning curve, but the humans certainly did! LOL
I have a food thief too. These really are a good idea.
They are sure to disappoint the food thief!
Linda Ciccoli the owner must also be automatic
We bought one feeder, and kind of short-circuited the training as well. In our case, we have one cat that is a bit of a glutton, so we trained the feeder for the other two. Initially the cats were a little startled when the door would open - there is a switch on the bottom that you can use to select how long the door will stay open if the cat pulls back.
We initially had problems with cats coming in from the side or the back - we got around that by positioning objects like boxes so they couldn't easily get to the side. Now they are accustomed to coming in the correct way, and things are going well.
There are optional side/rear panels to stop side bandits.
It is fantastic!!! I bought it because I have many cats and one of them at some point needed a different kind of food but expensive, so I had to wait every time to finish eating and prevent other cats to eat his special meal.
This pet feeder works miracles since then, with every cat in our home that needs different kind of food!!!
I’ve just ordered two of these and I hope they help. I have two cats that are really good motivated but have very different nutritional needs. One of my cats is a senior moggie and the other a five month Maine Coon.
Frankie looks like cat chobee of my pet diary. Sooo cute
where did you get the water bowl from?
I need this for my cats. Just wished it was also an automatic feeder.
We love them SO much!! They still work perfectly!
Seems to work quite well I'm impressed, I guess it would work well to keep flies and ants out as well🥰👍 They are such wonderful models well done 😻👏👏👏
We've had them for a year now and they still work great!!
I so need to get 3 of these for my monsters... two that are suddenly slow eaters and one that's finally figured out that's to his advantage. Won't be for much longer though...LOL
Love the video & naughty Katia lol I’m glad they’re working for you cuties.💜
We got those when we first got Tarsus but unfortunately they aren’t a good for flat faced kitties or dogs & they can cause whisker tension, wish they made them more accommodating!!😭🙈
That's too bad! Are you using the whole bowl or the split bowl?
Whisker tension rofl
I’m interested in getting this for my cat but I was wondering if this would hurt her neck?
They look like they took to it very well.
They like them very much actually. Still using them every day!
I love how people get Two of these, i only got one so my skinny slow eating cat can always have food. For our chubby foodie kitty i’ll feed her dialy amount in her regular bowl. It Will be gone 🤣
Haha yes! I ordered on for my slow eater too. Cause she takes like 5 bites and walks away, meanwhile the other one can keep eating so he has an automatic feeder that gives him his kibble in 3 portions. Wet & raw food I give them every morning and evening. I always have to play cop so i am happy when my Surefeed arrives :D
How are these holding up 3 years later?
I'd be lost without this microchip pet feeder as my really greedy cat was stealing my sick cats food which was medicated for his kidney disease. But I've had a few hiccups with it. I solved it by resetting but until it decided to flash red and green to reset I had to snatch his dish up quickly. Needless to say that didnt work too well. For some odd reason it started allowing greedy chops in. So I tried resetting again. Eventually it allowed the red/green light flashing again, so I could reset it. I noticed that there is no back to this contraption, which you have to buy separately, which I think is really bad, it should be supplied with a back for the price of it, as other cats and dogs can gain access to the food from the side or back of it and Greedy chops did so of course.Whats the point of advertising a petfeeder that sposed to stop other animals using it when they can still do so by accessing the side or back? It's not a good advert is it as it's lying to you?
I LOVE PATEE 2.5oz
What happens when you remove batteries? Do you have to reprogram the feeder with your cat's id?
Our batteries have lasted the past 5 months so I wasn't sure of the answer. But I just took them out and put them back in again and it remembered their microchips! So you wouldn't have to reprogram them every time the batteries needed to be replaced =)
I both two a few years ago. Bloody ants get into it tho so frustrating. Other then that they’re good cos one of my cat would steal the other ones food & his big.
We just fill a huge steel bowl with water in the bathroom so they can drink all they want. They figured it out when water was left in bowl we change water often
I guess I have a bit of a problem with the fact that it appears that, sometimes, unless the cat is properly positioned, the lid won’t open, maybe making the cat believe it isn’t going to open.
I think that, if I actually spend the money on a couple of these, I might get the Connect version but, add the stainless bowls, if I can find some type of insert to divide it.
Yes, you're totally right about that! Sometimes the cats have to have their face pretty close to the bowl for it to open. But in the past year that we've been using these, we've never had a problem with the cats not eating because they can't get the lid open. They seem to learn pretty well! I'd be interested to see how the Connect does, let me know how you like it if you get one!
Katie and Frankie I will. Thank you.
well my problem is that our food stealer cat’s chip got into it, how do we take away chips?
So what would happen if you just gave both cats more water in their food?
They produce more dilute urine, reducing factors that cause bladder inflammation and stones.
@@ammo3734 Those seem like very unhealthy cats then
@@atmas1337 it doesn't necessarily mean they're unhealthy. Cats naturally drink much less water than normal. Concentrated urine can crystallize inside the bladder. The crystals can clump up and the clumps can lodge in the urethra, causing a very painful and very dangerous situation for the cat. Another reason that some cats should drink more water is kidney disease, which is common in our geriatric kitties. Increasing their water intake will force the kidneys to work more, but reduces dangerous chemicals that can build up in the blood.
for short l luv cats
Was it really difficult to get them use to the noise? One of my cats likes to wolf down his food and anyone else’s and will push poor Holly out of the way. So I have purchased one for her.
Not at all! They didn't notice one bit! Just make sure to clean with a damp cloth =)
Katie and Frankie she has taken to it so easy. I hear her throughout the day getting into magic bowl. Now I can relax knowing she is getting her xtra water and nutrients
I have one of these so my special diet cat doesn't eat her sisters normal food. It's great
We have a greedy boy that was just coming at the bowl to steal food from the front whenever the other cat opened it with his chip so we had to buy the snap on guard to keep him out. Doesn’t look like you had that issue tho 👍
замечательные котики с "новыми мисочками"!
My sister was looking at these. Apparently they have issues with getting stuck and not opening.
To be honest I've never had that problem with SureFeed types.
I have had mine two days. The thief cat pushes the registered cat aside and eats all his food and it doesn't close until he is done and walks away.. I'm not happy
They have not "fixed" anything what they have done is decide to nickel and dime every customer they can. The intruder mode is only available in the app.....which can ONLY be used with their $80 hub. Secondly, not having the rearguard means the feeder DOES NOT FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED. It would require the inclusion of said rear guard to make the claim it prevents food theft to be true. Oh, the rear guard WHICH USE TO BE FREE is now $40 with shipping costs. ALSO note the logic board is cheap and SPECIFICALLY made NOT to handle rechargeable batteries. inserting rechargeable batteries seems to cause the board to burn out or not function correctly at the time. This isnt advertised that you MUST use "saltwater" C batteries and that they all MUST be new and CANNOT be of differing ages or battery strength. read the manual, says it there, but not in the ads which is another deceptive tactic they have going on.
I have those but my other cat still eats whenever he sees the other one on the food, he gets it from the side.
You can buy a side/ back cover.
Will it work form more than one cat ? OR do I need one for each cat ?
You can add multiple cats to the feeder.
My cats love that the dog does not get to their food.
great demo. What breed is Frankie
Frankie isn't a particular breed that we know of, just a standard longhaired cat with the munchkin gene.
Katie looks gorgeous
Food thief cat 🤣
Hello! I’m leaving this comment hoping someone can help me… I have this bowl for my girl cat who gets her food stolen by my boy cat. My BOY cat has stopped caring if the lid closes on him and he has started, again, stealing her food. I’m afraid he’s going to damage the bowl AND it’s useless if it doesn’t actually keep him from eating her food. Anyone experience this?!
what cat breeds are they ?
Franklin is a standard longhaired cat and Kaden is a British Shorthair! Both have the munchkin gene =)
How break proof is this. My cats will spend hours trying to break into it.
My fat cat still steals food when my other cat is eating even with the back covered, he goes next to him under the handle 🥲
There's an intruder mode that will close the lid if it detects a chip that isn't authorized
Interesting device but still they can eat a lot .
How? it can only eat the amount you put in! 🤷♀️
@@drwoo6090 simple. You put the amount that the cat need but after the cat eat all the food then you will put again food in that device. Because people are weak and tjey can't resist to the cat sweetest. :))))
I wish they would combine this with an autofeeder. My cat is a voracious eater and Its a pain to have another cat around because he will steal food like a boss.
mine won't scan the cat 🥴☹️😬
Sorry but its hard to hear you over the music.
Thanks for the note! I'll be more aware of that in future videos =)
Yeah, music was unnecessary!
Katies like stuff u humans gave me girl name is boy I eat extra 4 hurt feelings
Can I plz met u plzzzzzzz 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
We might do live videos in the future! That's basically like meeting in real life, right??
That sounds really creepy. Why would you want to meet them?
You named your male cat “Katie.”
Long story short, we thought he was a girl when we first got him. We call him both Katie or Kaden. =)
As you sound American or Canadian, when you say Katie, it sounds like kadie!
This wont work with my cats... they are way bigger than your cats...
These are made for dogs and cats! Surely your cats isn't larger than a dog!
Not a very good tutorial
Please note that pets cannot be ever be safely left alone or unattended while wearing collars. The collar is a strangulation hazard. Mentioning the use of collars without a discussion/disclaimer of the hazards can be a liability issue.
Thankfully, the vast majority of cat collars are break-away collars for precisely this reason!
No problem risking a chitbull's life over the potential of a toddler getting mauled.
@@cheerdiver toddlers are just as likely to get mauled by other dogs as well as pit bulls. In fact, this kind of stuff you’re spewing is the reason why so many good dogs don’t get homes.
Lol stop
My dog DIED because of the Microchip!!!!
i hope yall vacuumed the house at least once since this video dam that house nasty
