- This feeder pairs with your cat's microchip, or the tag that is included, and will only open when your pet is near. It prevents other cats from eating out of a bowl with a special diet - or scarfing up another cat's food. I think this is super useful when fostering cats, when you're feeding a prescription diet, or have a gluttonous cat who just can't get enough.

I’m using the FurBaby feeders. Very simple
Looks like a great product, thanks for the review. I wish that it had a timer function for early morning feedings. We tried regular timed feeders but one cat always bullied the other and ate from both feeders.
Me too! Actually, a multi-meal, timed feeder, with super good cold packs, that was microchip programmable, would be amazing!
Hi, thank you for this upload! I've had a lot of trouble with my two cats and their different eating habits, and I've tried another one like this where it opens with the microship. Though it closed very slowly, and my other cat could easily sneak in, or push the slow eater away and finish their food. How fast does this close? I've tried looking for videos where people use it practically, besides just the setup.
Could you please share your experience with how it works when one cat is a quick food thief? Or upload a video where one cat eat and another looms in the background?
Maybe a very specific ask, but seeing that they are quite expensive I want to be as informed as possible :)
I didn't have a second cat who wanted to eat Pico's food to test it with. You don't want the feeder to close too quickly for cat safety reasons, but I understand the challenge you're facing.
@@CatBehaviorSolutions Okay, thank you for taking your time to answer :)
Do you know the surefeed? And if you do, do you think it's better? I have 3 surefeed systems now, and one of them is not functioning well. I had to clean it because my older cat had smeared paté in all the creases of the system. And because there is no manual to clean it, I don't think I put it back right. Or it just broke. This thing looks a lot better to clean, and I hope it doesn't have that many places to get dirt in it and ruin the system.
I'm not familiar with the Surefeed system - I can tell you this was super easy and seems to function very well.
Looks more effective than the SurePet feeder.
I'm not familiar with the SurePet feeder but I was really impressed with how easy this was to set up and how well it worked!
i'm looking for a multi day automated chipped food dispenser for my cat, when i'm travelling two days i would like to be able to spread the food dispensing into several smaller portion rather that in one shot. My cat would somehow eat the entire two day protion into a couple of hours ;-) Any suggestion about this functionality ?
I agree - it would be ideal to have a 5 meal, with super cold pack, timed and programmable to a microchip feeder! I'm sure someone is working on it. We go to the annual pet industry trade shows each year so that we can search for things like this, and share feedback with venders. When I see one, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
only problem about this feeder for me is that it's not also an automatic feeder and I can't figure out a viable way to attach my auto feeder to the back
i thought that too...big wish list would be a timed, multiple meal feeder that only opened for specific cats!
@CatBehaviorSolutions honestly if my pet libro only opened for specific cats, it would be perfect. Good sized tank and a decent app
My Chinchilla was also called Peco
RIP
So this won’t work if your cat won’t wear a collar, correct? It doesn’t actually work with their implanted microchip?
No, it works with microchip as discussed in the video
@digipaks I guess I phrased my question wrong, my cats are microchipped but I wasn’t sure if it worked with ALL microchips or just certain ones. My cats refuse to wear a collar so the tag isn’t really an option for me unfortunately
It works with ISO compatible microchips. @@hannahcorcoran7513
Yes, it should work with most microchips.
Have you reviewed the surepet?
I have not reviewed the SurePet - you're the second one to ask so I'll reach out and see if I can get one to reveiw.
How long does it take for the door to close after the cat removes their head from the bowl?
I'd say a few seconds - it wasn't quick enough to make me feel like it might close on him, but at the same time, fast enough to keep another cat from moving in. Also if the microchip tagged cat removes his head and another moves in, it will close to keep him out.
I counted 4 seconds. My chonker is too fast for this product. The Sureflap feeder closes faster so I think we need to return the MiBowl, unfortunately.
@@kristenjunker1632 I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. I encourage you to contact Closer Pets.
Does someone know if you can get extra tags an pair them on the same feeder?
Good question. I do think I remember seeing a second pet set up in the instructions - but that is for a second microchip so I'm not sure about the tags. You might reach out to the manufacturer and ask.
Yes, you can purchase them from Closer Pets. @@CatBehaviorSolutions
È terribile per un gatto. Spazio ristretto, ciotola solo in plastica, non vedo guarnizione. Surefeed non la batte nessuno!
Yo tengo los 2 y en este está mucho más cómodo 😮
Stainless steel bowls are available.
