Best cookbook recipe test I've seen so far. I love that you have the book on the side to show how easily it can/cannot be followed when cooking. I find that a lot of recipes aren't organized properly and I often need to pre read the instructions before starting anything. (am not a savvy cook)
Thank you so much for this video! I wanted to get this book for my mom and now I know that it's totally worth it! I would love more recipe testing videos:)
Brilliant idea for a video, please do more of these, loved it!! I'm a huge fan of Nigella Lawson too, I bet you'd enjoy her recipes as well... her oldest cookbooks are my fave :)

Seeing you , makes it so good and easier! Wow, thank you! Love the "Swede!" Love seeing you go thru the recipe, please tell me what kind of burner you are using.is it induction and if so is it noisy? How to make sure to see the next one? Excellent!.
Aw I’m so glad! Yep it’s an induction burner and YES it’s noisy! I have a complicated relationship with it but it’s the best I’ve got at the moment. Much easier than asking my partner/cameraman to follow me to the stovetop, it’s a bit of a light & camera maze!
Just made this, inspired by your video, and while it's a fiddly pain to make...man, is it good! I'll definitely be using canned crushed tomatoes next time, but I'm hard pressed to think of many other shortcuts that wouldn't significantly lessen it.
I agree 100%. I will admit I’ve used the same flavour combo with a few (more streamlined) stews lately and they’ve been pretty darn good. One was a chickpea stew with raisins and big hunks of squash and another one was a tomato orzo thing. It served as really good inspiration for me! Glad it went well for you too :)
I love the way you say rutabaga, kept making me chuckle, probably its just a funny sounding word anyway. But also the dirty cookbook thing I agree with, they should be like, buuut it makes me not want to buy second hand cookbooks online 😅
A splattered cookbook is a happy cookbook! Just remember to wipe the pages down before you close the book or they will stick together and you'll never be able to use that recipe again:-(

Hi! I hope you like this one. I'm a pretty big fan of all of Ottolenghi's books and so far this one seems to be no exception. Let's dive in!
Lovely. Thank you so much. Yes do more of Yotam please 🙏.

Wow! You folks do what you do so very well! I can smell the food cooking, I swear! Terrific Thanks Guys!
Thanks Steven! This was a good reminder that slowing down is a good idea once in awhile. It was a multi-step dinner, but it was pretty worth it!
I know this is two years ago but I enjoyed the episode. Would love you to make more dinners like this one especially from Ottolenghi Flavour cook book
thanks for posting, i got the book as a present and will make these two recipes.
Awesome! Happy to help :)
My sister and I love rutabaga! We often substitute rutabaga for potatoes, in recipes! They are excellent in soups also😊
I love it too! I really think it deserves more credit. Good call subbing it for potatoes! You’ve got my wheels turning :)

Hey, I’ve just covered this cookbook too! Didn’t realise Ottolenghi is popular in US too. His ‘Simple’ book is the best!!!

Yes! It’s delightful!
In my opinion the skin is the best part especially after roasting adding another level of flavour and bite🤗

Listen to it while living ib a 2 story high or one building

Ok!! Will do!
personally, i love your own simple but super delicious recipes.. this one seems too much work
I will admit it had more steps than I would normally be up for... but it was pretty delicious!
Funny
Couscous is not israeli. Im north African and its a native dish in the Maghreb and the sahel. I dont like cultural theft.
