You are half right.... there are genuine values in generators over the Honda. This thing just isn't one of them. The WEN 3600 seems to be a really good value. That Genmax will continue eating metal until it dies in the near future.

@@JMlovesDDM not many. school buses are built on a similar chassis as semi trucks. Plus they are built a lot safer than a normal RV. School Buses are built pretty much like a big roll cages. They have to meet a bunch of safety standards to school transportation. Like if you get into a roll over in a school bus the Roof will not fall in on itself etc.

Just saying they run the small Cummins , which is a great engine , but the routes they drive demand heavy stop and go which is very hard on them .Not bashing buses , if you get a good one they can last much longer than the average RV .When young , my wife and I moved and lived in , until we got situated , a '64 Ford 40 passenger school bus . Sorry , it was all white , no psychedelic flowers !

I am confused about the Onan generator that came with your vehicle. Wasn’t it under warranty since it was brand new? If you have time, would you please clarify this? Otherwise, if you are not going to use it, you could always sell it and have you considered that?

In the construction trades for 30 years and going through many many generators of all makes and sizes including Honda’s Cummins generac etc. we have burned up just as many tools and chargers with a Honda as any other one and in no way does a Honda last any longer for the price that Honda wants they just are not worth it

AWWWW, QUITCHERBITCHIN, Here in the Redwood country our annual rain year has just ended. Oct1 to May1 we got 80". Our annual normal is 55. Our favorite color here is Grey. !
Where I am we have had around 200 MM of rain so far and most of that was at the start of the year in the summer, we had about 1mm in the past few days but now its pretty dry. Meanwhile up in Sydney and parts of Queensland they are copping it again. temps have been around 23.C not bad for close to winter hehe.
You can get a pipe welded to the generators muffler, then cut a square hole in side of the trailer, install a vent and then you never have to pickup the generator, just start it up in back of the trailer.
if you think cell waves are a bad thing for health then you better throw away your microwave, that's about 1.3 million times more dangerous... or TV lol
We had a problem with our new Onan also (5k). After a bit of investigation, we found that it was the inside control panel. It would run well for 10-15 minutes, then shut down. One of the relays in the panel was opening when it got warm/ hot and the gennie would die. Our technician said it was the first time he’d seen that. Been working fine now for 4 years. Happy Birthday Kitty.

Ive said this in 4 other comments: the onan requires a FIRMWARE UPDATE you need a certified tech to update it and your problem will be solved.

I saw similar metal particles on my Ryobi generator a dozen years ago. Do another oil change after 20 hours, then at least annually.

I HAD MY ONAN CUT OUT OF THE RV AND PUT MY PORTABLE GENERATOR IN ITS PLACE! CUT THE GENERATOR OUT AND NEVER HAVE TO WORRY AGAIN
