Does he ever not complain and wine on his videos? The answer is no. Should call him Nomadic Winy Fanatic
I spend lots of time traveling in New Mexico. A few miles west of Route 66 is Sky city Casino. The RV park is $18 a night if you mention the trucker special. Full hook ups. Large pull through sites. Pool and spa, great restaurant and casino. Includes showers in the truck stop next door. Laundromat and a dollar tree. It’s a great place to stay!!
I didn’t even know that place existed. Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
@@freewayfuzz8160 I stay here a lot. They also have a big lot behind the hotel/casino that you can boondock in. The rv park isn’t super fancy but big clean sites, beautiful views and there is shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off at casino. When you check in they say it’s $25 a night but if you mention the billboard price it drops to $18. The pool and spa are at the casino but it is included with rv stays. There is also a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby.
Sky City (aka Acoma Pueblo) is also a cool place: a Native American town on top of a mesa.
@@nospam865 yea! It’s beautiful!!
They do guided walking tours of their mesa top village. Well worth doing.
If you add a swimming pool to taterland, Yes, that will set you up for one FUN summer out there on your land, you can do so many fun country things, swim, hike, shoot BB guns at cans, Once 4th of july comes around you can have a huge party out there and shoot off fireworks, have a pool party, cook some bbq on the grill !!! It could be the best summer you have eve3r had !!
Fireworks idk maybe fire seasons
@@Channel--Ai If fireworks are legal there, at taterland, I say he should go for it ! be careful and mindful of falling embers, but if it's legal and no burn ban in effect, GO WILD !
You won’t regret a Intex pool at Taterland, best $1,000 I’ve spent.. mine is 6800 gallons 18x52
I am excited to see you get back to the homestead. If it was me at that resort, I would have gone to the casino and asked for the manager to see what they could do to make up for the RV park.
Hope you make time for Sturgis SD , 1st week of August …… Every new Harley-Davidson rider needs to experience the Black Hills Rally
Glad you didn't go north we're having a nice stretch of weather; you'd bring too much rain. 😆😉
$87. I agree too much.
So glad you are going home!!!!!! Very good choice.... Don't apologize for your choice... You are doing great.
We will be with you no matter what you do.. Love you and the kitties. Have a great time.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I agree. The Resort , not, should give a discount since the Resort amenities are not open. I get disappointed when the pool is not open. It's so nice to relax in the pool after a travel day. I also noticed that even though the park is only 10% occupied, they put everyone next to each other. My orange tabby, Duke, loves Temtations too.
I don't blame you one bit Eric, life is WAY too short to not be happy and stressed!!!
I'm paying $75 a night to stay on a mountain top in a tourist town,
The prices of RV parks are getting as high as the rent in some places!
At $75 a night it’s way more expensive then rent, that would be over $2200 a month to rent someone’s driveway!!
Not trying to tell you what to do, but if you stay in your home area for awhile, you can still travel around and show us cool stuff in the local area ! There are some really neat, interesting things in the dessert !
There's a hidden gem called The Boyce Thompson Arbetorum...it's a HUGE desert botanical garden, has mountains and canyons...I just got done making 1 of 2 videos on it...just stunning! (If you haven't heard of it, maybe check it out!)
We enjoy the travel been watching for over 6 or 7 years I believe but honestly, we had more interest when he was setting up base camp and look forward to more changes to his base camp.
Thanks for exposing this rip-off place. Walmart will be just fine. Instead of these places why not try our National Parks and our National Forests. Harvest Host too. You have shown us some great places there.
You see his shirt in the intro? You should try it
Hey Eric Im glad you made the trip safe! I have a camping channel here in AZ and you have been a huge inspiration. Would you be willing to meet when you get back to AZ? We dont have to have cameras, id just like to meet ya.
⛵️ 🦆 🎸 Peace be with you
You drove west through"Tornado Alley" to avoid tornadoes? Should have gone north,
Some at Route 66 told me that there was an injury or death at the pool and there was a pending lawsuit for several years now that would prevent them from renovating and re-opening it. Don’t know if that’s true, but it was from an employee.
Eric I'm a big fan of your channel for many years. As a Floridian living on the east coast for over 50 years living inland and not near the ocean coast the hurricanes weaken inland and our 101 year old wood house we moved in year 1985 is still standing and not even a broken window and we live 20 miles from the ocean. The most damage is the homes on the beaches and near it. If I was you I would of still traveled the east coast and it's still too early for a hurricane. If a hurricane heads your way on the east coast you can always head west and the meteorologist always know several days ahead when a hurricane is coming. My family never leave our house in a Florida hurricane. We live inland on higher land that doesn't flood and one year we had a big category 5 hurricane and we stayed in our house and no damage to the house but plenty of tree stuff and branches on the ground and we even got lucky and didn't lose our power and lights that time but other parts of the city did lose their electricity.
We are gonna let the negativity slide. You’ve had a tough run lately. Hopefully TaterLand will turn things around for ya. I think a pool is a GREAT idea! Safe travels!
Well now you can throw that pizza on the ground. LOL Lovely pool that you can look at but can’t swim in. Happy Birthday Tara. 🐈⬛🎁🎈🎂🍰🥳🎉
Eric, I just spoke with Rt 66 RV park and they told me that the rates are the $67/ nite for a pull thru. No hidden fees when you get there and that the Pool/ Spa, Etc are opening tomorrow (Friday the 17th of May) for the summer.. Also the $25 security deposit is refunded to you upon check out. So that $$ you were speaking about is not quite right. Please let me know if you got the deposit back when you checked out? We are planning on staying there in late summer...
Self care is not a selfish act. Relax, and reset. 😊
Happy 4 Birthday to Tera 🎂 🎉 🎊
Thanks for video
Happy birthday, Tara! My kitty loves the dairy flavor Temptations too! I like your videos wherever you go and I like Taterland.
One of the problems with an RV park like that is that people will continue to patronize them even knowing full well that they do not provide the facilities as advertised. Enough said about that. As far as your pizza is concerned, I buy those on occasion, when they’re on sale in my area for around $3.97. Now I know full well that they don’t taste that good out of the box, so I always purchase a bag of shredded cheese, a bag of sliced pepperoni, and I also get those bags of bacon bits from Costco that you can buy. I’ll then dress up my pizza so that I know it’s gonna taste good and I’ll enjoy it.
Trade in RV. You have convinced me Eric that all RV's will and do eventually break down. period. Does not matter if you spent a million on a Prevost or anything THEY ALL break down. Class A B C. So Glad you made it back to my back yard my home town Tucson. Try heading north into the Colorado Rockies, Lived there 20 years and weather is not crazy! Cheers
Yes, that pool idea is great! That would be a lot of of fun! OMG, I was laughing so hard at Opie in the bday hat, to cute! Can't wait to see tater land again and I am sure you will have fun getting to see CVK again. Hope the rest of your travels are great. Stay safe out there.
Excited to see what you do at the RV site.
Tornado alley seems to be growing to the East!
I'm glad you are heading home!! Don't apologize for needing to get things together so you don't go crazy!! Ish happens and resetting is needed.
And pathetic that RV Park charged you full price for a quarter of the services offered.
Sad they cannot find young people to bring the pool and other amenities back to life. (I think a lot of them are living in their RV's touring the country.)
my dude... you do you. if you're home aint right, then it aight right! Get home, reset and recalibrate for the next trip
Eric you should try Sun Outdoors RV resort in Ponchatoula Louisiana. One of the best RV resorts I have ever been to. It has the biggest hot tub I've ever seen at an rv park and a lazy river with a bar and swim up bar in the main pool.
Hurricane Season ends November 1st...then it just starts to get chilly in the north.
You being a pizza guy (and sometimes frozen pizza) have to try Motor City Pizza. They're in the frozen section at Costco. Tastes like it was just made / cooked fresh! Im pretty impressed with them for being frozen. Highly recommended!
Wait, now you love the southwest again???
The milk flavored temptations is the only flavor my cats will eat. They love them.
I can hardly wait until you get back to taterland..
It says on the website that the pool and cabanas are opened seasonally. So, maybe they'll be open Memorial Day weekend.
Take your time we are just in for the ride
Glad yer returning to Taterland...love when you do repair videos vs "quirky"
Time to look up that Allison again and have some fun. Go to see your Mariners on the road maybe?
What a long strange trip it’s been….
Happy Birthday to Tara
Good singing voice thanks for sharing Eric!
Good Show. Thanks.
I can respect that, it sounds like a good plan to head back to Tater Land🙂👍
👍
Happy B-Day Tara🎂
$87 dollars a night ?! Outrageous! No pool, no Jacuzzi, no rec center, no level sites, No thank you!
You should try catnip Temptations, the stray cat that decided to live in my office at work loses her ish over them.
I sold my RV last year and when I travel in the USA going forward I will use the Hotel system. Getting 10mpg and paying $87.00 a night for a slab of cement with hookups I will pass. I would rather get 40mpg in my car and stay in a Hotel without having to carry everything with me.
I am with you. I wish I could sell my motorhome, but owe more than it's worth. Bad decision made while morning the loss of our daughter.
@@lifetomyyears1649 I’m sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. I’ve owned 3 RVs over 30 years of camping and traveling experience and after 2020 everything went downhill. Prices on RVs were so overpriced and the campgrounds got greedy with the fees not to mention gas and food prices are so much higher now. I’m in Costa Rica now for the next six months and it’s cheaper than living in the USA. Hopefully things change in November or I might just stay here.
@@SilverTurtle65 Where are you living in Costa Rica? Are you renting a Airbnb, VRBO or some type of short term rental? I've kicked around the idea of living there for 6 months after I retire. Thanks!!!
Happy 💐 Birthday Tara
We stay at Enchanted Trails a few miles closer to Albuquerque. Better/fairer price.
Try isleta lakes next time you’re near Albuquerque. Isleta resort and casino is nice.
Happy birthday Tara
Happy birthday Tara 🎈 sweet girl 🥳 see yah Eric an Tara an Opie hugs always ❤❤❤
Thanks!
Did you ask them if they had opened the pool for the season or if they plan to??? Around here(the south east) no one opens their pools until Memorial Day. Which is May 27th this year. There might be a few apartment complex’s that open a week early but just about every single attraction around here with an outdoor pool doesn’t officially open until then. Just a thought.
❤
Try Enchanted Trails RV Park a few miles away from Route 66 RV Resort. Or, USA RV Park in Gallup.
Happy BD Tara!
Your there during the off season
Reading reviews from within the last week, comments stated the pool and spa were nice. Perhaps they were shut down the day you arrived. They may have been talking about inside the casino.
The reason the casino does what the casino does is not because it's better or worse for travelers, it's because of $$$. Keeping, managing, supplying, insuring, staffing, cleaning and providing those services are no longer financially advantageous for them. It doesn't have anything to do with positive or negative emotions or a slap in the face to RVer's. They simply can't operate a business and provide everything you want or expect in today's market condition(s). You'd be shocked to know how lean most hospitality co.'s have to run their operations to barely break even. Scary times! Safe travels Eric--
A little deep dish & Italian beef sammich cures the Midwest blues
It could be because of water conservation and water shortages they are faceing. Many Casinos got criticised for wasting water for there own profits while the lakes where at dangerous low levels. Love your videos!😊
Sometimes you need to be selfish. It's ok.
Tater Land is awesome. i can't wait to see some taterland videos 😊
I remember when you got Tara. Has it really been that long ago? Memaw 5 sending love. By the way it’s still raining.
You’re so down to earth you make us laugh all the time.
Yep we have stayed there a few times
Forget DiGorno Pizza. Definitely go for Motor City Pizza Company!!!! Best ever!!!!
I live in Tulsa Oklahoma and I won't travel until mid June..You have been very busy these past few months. Its time for a break... SW & West are my favorites..
$87 for a site will nothing to do is pretty outrageous. In my world it's worth about $25-30 a night but maybe not even that. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
Aw little Tara look so cute in her hat . Happy Birthday Tara!!! Hi to Opie and kisses and Huggies to y'all kitties And you also Eric !!!!!❤❤❤❤😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤😊
Hey Eric , my name is Cheryl. I've been watching you for about 9.5 years. My husband and I ( he was just my boyfriend at the time) 8 years ago. I just want to thank you for inspiring us to change our life. Don't ever let the haters get you down! You are special and important and life changing for some of us.
Sorry my boyfriend and I went out on the road 8 years ago. We've been nomadic ever since! We found a way to travel and still work, while living nomadic, thanks to you and a few other RUclipsr!
Omg Opie with the hat on 😅
It's time to go home and regroup. You go man!
Funny after watching you, I went to Washington.
Happy birthday tera! 🎉 they are such beautiful cats! An so loved! 💗
What was the surprise at the end during the party about Tara growing up?
I stayed there before price increases and the pool was open. I will pass it up in future. Thanks
This channel should be renamed to "Dramatic Fanatic". 🙂
Agreed, 87 just for parking and nothing else seems excessive.
Wow. Tara's 4? Time Flys
Do whatever you need to do. We will still be here!!
For a quick overnight check out OK RV Park in Holbrook AZ, $55 a night. Nice simple and easy to pull in with a big rig.
I like Taterland ❤
When you get back to home site would like to see you entertain the thought of building a 2 story observation tower so you can see the whole property and make the first floor a cat patio wired in for your cats. Would make a nice place to set on top enjoy the view and also star gaze and excellent place to put some cameras for security and some motion flood lights , just thinking out loud. Enjoy your week, Mr. White Gloves outta here.
A lot of the RV resorts charge high prices to keep crackheads with old busted trailers and garbage people out.
This was actually told to me by somebody who ran RV park near Bakersfield California. I pulled in one night and it was a $130 a night and I was like holy crap, to park my rv?
I looked around and it was all half a million dollar or more Prevost buses and the like.
And the guy who checked me in was like yeah the owner keeps the prices high because it keeps the trash walmart type people out.
I would value that RV park at maybe $25
Who would have thought tornados in tornado alley!
Casino's are hurting. On line bettings killing em .
👍❤
I am excited for you to go back home, and make it your own private paradise. Invite friends, and get repairs slowly!!
😊
Good for you ~ wouldn’t mind seeing you cruise around Wyoming and Montana this summer 😎
Like your mom said, "you gave up a great life at walmart" if you get too down you can always spend a couple of hours doing that.
