  • We are continuing our Prioritizing the ME in Mental Health webinar series. Hearts Connected wants to continue supporting our fellow child life specialists by offering a space to discuss mental health topics.
We are so grateful for our next speaker, Samira Moosavi, a CCLS and the Regional Clinical Manager at Experience Camps, a national, no-cost program for grieving children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. Samira has dedicated over a decade to providing psychosocial support to children and families as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the hospital setting, during natural disasters, global medical missions, and to the community. Her deep passion for grief developed from volunteering within the Children's Bereavement Program at a local hospice, where she then went on to become the Children's Bereavement Coordinator for many years. Her current role at Experience Camps includes supporting children and families who are grieving, creating inclusive, grief-informed programming, and educating the community about grief and loss
    Webinar Discussion Points:
    1. Describe current frameworks and trends related to children's grief at-large.
    2. Share lessons learned from supporting children in a community-based setting who are grieving.
    3. Discuss supporting children and families at end-of-life in both hospital and hospice care.
    4. Explore caring for ourselves, as professionals, when caring for others.
