Thanks so much for your interesting and informative videos. I came across a very useful desktop shortcut which you probably know about on windows; hold down the control and alt key and then G opens up Google Drive search on a desktop

Very helpful video. I have been using Google Drive for Desktop for a couple of years but this overview was great. And I have been right clicking on folders and somehow never noticed the COLOR option. I love using color to help me find things at a glance and categorized. Love the advanced search features too. I had not use them much but will now Thanks for the video!

Great video! I listened to your video on how to share files and folders which was great, too. :) I do have a question, though... I followed your instructions for file sharing and permissions, but when those I shared my file with opened it, the formatting was wrong. Does google drive have an issue with pdfs?

I am new to google drive. This presentation is easy to follow. During the presentation, I opened up google drive which I already had and was able to change the user. Now I have 2 profiles which is good. I didn't want my other google docs showing up with my organization documents. Thank you so much. I have been using Google drive for some years now and have been considering using it as my main drive.
My last computer investment i purchased a 3TB internal hard drive however i always still need to manage its storage, having to back it up regularly and still require other even larger hard drives connected to my computer to save other files.
What are your thought on the pros and cons on have a smaller internal hard drive and using the cloud to put all of your files
i would like to know your opinion as i have been “scared” to take this large plunge . 🤦🏻♂

Hi Tasia. I have only just started to delve into Google Drive and really appreciate your videos. Upon opening Google drive for the first time recently I've noticed a lot of files and stuff that somehow or other have been saved previously. I don't even know what they are and how they got to be saved. I'd very much like to do a cull of all or most of those files to declutter. If I remove all of the files that are not necessary will that compromise that information that may be stored elsewhere on my computer? For instance, there are quite a few photos that are also stored in Google Photos. I'd hate to lose them by wanton deletions. I have actually successfully removed much of the unwanted junk.

Awesome content Tasia... thank you! The only feature to me that is not necessarily intuitive (at least to me) is the "Computers" section on the left pane... not mentioned in this segment... I guess that is something to know about before knowing how to share or collaborate on documents. Fantastic channel.. one of my very favorites. Thank you again!
The computers section is only used if you are using the Google Drive client on your computer. In other words, if you are syncing files to and from your computer via the Google Drive program, that's where you would manage your sync settings. If you simply wanted to share files already in your Google Drive, you right click the file(s) or folder(s), choose Share>Share>Enter the name/email address of whoever you want to share with.

You showed me the most amazing thing in Google during the Katie Lance Masterclass. The google photos. I love that my photos get sent there and I love that I can create folders for houses that I list and share the folder to my photographer so that he can upload them photos in there. Is there a way to share that house file of the photos to my drive house file?
this was more about google online not so much about google desktop unless they are one and the same which would have been nice to know. I am new to google drive and want to use it as a backup and to sync files with my PC automatically. EG new file of PC is mirrored on the G drive. Deleted on PC and deleted on GD. Do you know if this can only be done with google installed as an application on my PC?

Hey Tasia, I have been using G drive for the past 1.5 years, I still found this video very informative. Thank you very much! Is it possible to link a copied Google Slide? Here is what I want to do: I copy over a Google Slide from my drive to a shared drive, and when I make changes to any of the linked docs, it should get reflected to the other linked doc.

thank you for your help. I wanted to reset my computer so I went in to settings and looked at backup. I saw that my computer was backing up my info to drive every 6 hours, so I did the reset. Some of my desk top items came back, but when I went back into settings after the reset, there is nothing about google drive there. How can I find what was backed up, and how can I get it back on my computer??? Thanks again Ken. I need this asap.

A super simple and super helpful video for us newbies. Great job and thank you. Do you have a video on how you use the yellow highlight pointer that follows your mouse moving around. That is such a cool way to do and the arrows and dissolving lines are really awesome??
I don't have a video on it - yet, but it is coming this year. I use Camtasia to record my screen and in there you can add the mouse highlighter! I add the arrows in using a FCP plugin. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

You can do either one. If you want to save space, you can compress them as ZIP files if you want.

Hey Tasia, I am trying to upload an image through Insert, and drawing new images, once I have the image on my drive, I cannot save it cos the save and close disappear, can you help pls?
I saw a selection that looks like a chain link. What can be done with that?
do you use the desktop google drive app? they have a "streaming" function, where it appears as a virtual drive but doesn't take up any space. It's annoying that it seemingly can't show the size of folder, and can't preview any media without downloading the whole thing first, which defeats the entire purpose of streaming vs mirroring your google drive.
Thanks, useful tips for me were the colour option and the multiple ways to star or move files. I recently signed up for workspace and I have lots of files in Google Drive, but I struggle opening files in their native format eg word or pages and end up downloading and uploading when I have finished editing. Is there an easier way, I really like googles " all in one place" vibe but this is frustrating.
You should be able to open those files in Google Docs - or upload them directly to Google Drive. From an attachment in Gmail, you can choose the top dropdown and open in Google Docs. If the file already exists on your computer you can open that right in Drive.

I like the free pdf viewer, especially as there is an annotations-like function, but drive and samsung don't seem to match well between devices. Losing all my annotations. Finding myself at the printer again because I must must be able to annotate.

This was entirely unhelpful. I have two google accounts. 15 GB each google drive storage. I need to know how to get some of the files on my computer automatically loaded to one of the google drive accounts but not the other. The 'Internet' says to go to the menu and select preferences. the google drive on my computer (not the internet) does not have a menu or anything I can find like preferences.
