The biggest issue that I am having is once I download a zip file and it's in my downloads and I extract it,I am having a hard time organizing them in drive, I click move to and it's not a option. I only want certain files from the zip and it isn't working for me. Lol Is there a specific video that you can offer to show how this process is done or should I not put in drive but on a cloud program? Thank you..
Do files/folders accessed by going through the browser to google drive have different access permissions from the files/folders accessed from windows file explorer on your PC (when you are not logged in as a specific google user) ?
Can I ask a question? My desktop Google Drive was working very well on my laptop. I just created another account for my computer. So now I have two accounts on my Windows laptop. The Google Drive is working very well on my old account, but for my new windows account (I created a local account), after downloading Google Drive for pc, it shows this message: This version of Google Drive is already installed. I don't want to uninstall it as it may affect my Google Drive on my original account. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Is there a way to pin MY DRIVE (not google drive) to my taskbar. I keep my files on My Drive, not on my PC. This way they are safe if something happens to my PC and also I can share them on my cell and tablet. I use windows11 and it does not allow me to pin My drive to the taskbar. Thank you
Well someone wouldn’t be able to edit an mp3 file in drive, but they could download it and then edit it. So, view permissions are still important if you didn’t want anyone to mess with your files!

@@Mohamedahmed-jz7xd that’s a normal concern! Make sure you set those permissions to view only in those cases. You should be able to toggle an option that does not allow the file to be downloaded.
Hi I Tasia am a delivery driver for Meals on Wheels I use Google maps on my phone every day recently I noticed that Google maps has started showing stop signs and stoplights on the map. But also I have noticed it does not show these stop signs and stoplights every time I use the Google maps is there something I can do in settings to make it show this every time I use Google maps.
Hey Vince! Showing stop signs and stop lights on Google Maps is somewhat new - it's only been available for a few months. It could be that it's just taking time to update all map areas to show signs and lights. Also, make sure your app is up to date (sounds like it is) and, eventually, we should have all our maps populated.

I recently went astray and tried to fix something on google account because I kept getting a window that said some files don't download or open. So I was directed to change my Google file to Google.old and reboot. Now I have no bookmarks and other shortcuts. What do I do now?
I synchronized the downloads folder on my computer with google drive. but if I delete something in the downloads folder, the message comes up that it's also gonna be deleted on google drive. I only want to delete the file on the computer, i want it to remain in the cloud?...
Then it sounds like you don't want to sync them. Syncing means they remain identical after you make changes to the master folder, in this case on your computer. Another term, often used in backup software, is mirroring.

Tasia, I hope you can bail me out. Once upon a time, I could open in Google Drive files that had been shared with me that had MS Office extensions like "docx" and "xlsx". That no longer works. Now I get the message, "Whoops. We were unable to open the file you requested. If you continue to experience an error, please report an issue below." Please suggest a way to make Office extensions to play nice again. Thanks... Jim

@@jimmcleod7286 that is so odd! I assume your Chrome browser is up to date? If someone has emailed the files to you, try clicking on the attachment, then near the top right, see if you can move it to your drive. Then go in your Drive and see if you have access to it there. Alternatively, make sure the person who shared the files gave you viewing permissions - this could include making sure you're signed in on the right Google account. Those files should definitely be readable in Drive. What an odd glitch. If you have Excel on your computer you could try opening it there and then exporting it from there with a different file type. I'm sorry I don't have more of an answer for you!
@@TasiaCustode Hi Tasia. I FOUND IT !!! Somehow, in my Chrome settings under Extentions, "Application Launcher For Drive (by Google)" had gotten switched off. Changing that switch to ON allows Google Drive to open docx and xlsx files like a champ. Thanks again.
Love your instructions - suggest to eliminate the background music. Not needed. Does not add value. In fact, it's distracting. And you're probably doing it because everyone else does. If we want to be entertained with background music while we watch instructional videos, we can play our own music.
The whole thing is just one massive nightmare. Im a photographer......All I wanted to do was create a folders where people could pick up their pictures via a password. Simple.

Viewer, commenter & editor. Is that has any specificity to the file type that i share? I mean if it's a pdf or an mp3 song for example.
Well someone wouldn’t be able to edit an mp3 file in drive, but they could download it and then edit it. So, view permissions are still important if you didn’t want anyone to mess with your files!

Anything on a computer is a file of some type. Yes you can upload video files to Google Drive or any other external hard drive or flash drive.
