I don't get why recordings cant just be as simple as the guitar, amp and mic. The whole test sounded great
Gotta love the Andersons Music Store
This is a completely different microphone to the original C3000 - that was a true condenser with dual diaphragms whereas this is an electret with a single diaphragm.
I have an original, which is black with switchable polar patterns and it's a far better microphone than the current one.
I thought this one sounded pretty thin and cold for my taste TBH, how is the original one?
Warmer and fuller, but still with a top end which has a lot of clarity. Not a 414 - but not that far off either.
Thanks for that info, I have one of the originals and it's nice to feel good about it, lol! I actually did a "hack" I found online, where you cut away the sort of brass colored wire mesh inner protective cage. It was purported that the mod would remove or attenuate a sort of honkish quality to the mids. I can't say for sure because my ears are tin, but I think it may actually have worked. Interestingly, there is a lot of hating on this mic on the interwebs
this is c3000B if I'm not wrong , c3000 are more expensive
i v been using c3000 for about 7 years and I'm happy with it .
it has some of c414 characteristics but single pattern off course .
Original c3000 was discontinued then they released the c3000b. Then they discontinued that and released the “c3000” in 2009 and 2012 BUT even tho it’s called the c3000 these days it’s the specs of the c3000b. They fucked up the naming hardcore but the current mode is in fact called a “c3000” even tho you’re right it’s identical to the c3000b
That waiting on the world guitar is goooood tho
I will never not be impressed by that kid’s playing. 👍🏻👍🏻
The AKG C3000 MADE IN AUSTRIA, was a switchable cardoid and hypercardiod mike, in 1993. Not the one RUclips presenting here(C3000B, now C3000). Today just missusining the name by Samsung. The rest of the confusing history read under RED CABIN ACOUSTICS in RUclips.
pretty good mic for the money. the mic on the kit is actyally pretty good. the audio in this video i could use in a mix.
Hopefully it is actually able to move in the suspension basket, that's the point !
Can someone help me. I have my AKG C3000 (original) hooked up to my mixer with phantom power and I can't get any good levels out of it?
Did you ever get it working? I just saw your post . . .
What are people's opinion on the orange or15?? Is it good or just "good for the price"??
Hey Paul, which are the four affordable mics you mention? I could only find one other demo--the AKG P120.
Is that one suitable for live music for an acoustic guitar?
Would this work for Ming up an acoustic into an acoustic amp?
Is it gold sputtered??
This guy is basically a John Mayer fan lol
Any Blue Mics?
What about vocals? Does nobody at Andersons sing
What is that beautiful Marshall cab, with the 100 on it?
+jim leiss And what's with the possibly permanent marker on it? :-( :-(
+Lasse Huhtala When you find the sweet spot for your mic, you don't want to let it go !!
It would have to be a *seriously* sweet spot, for me to take a permanent marker on an white anniversary cab.
+Ben's things & thoughts What is a sweet spot for an sm57 is 90% of the time not a sweet spot for a different mic. So no reason for permanent marker
too bad! no vocals!
100 pounds in the UK, 300 dollars here in canada
I have that mic my dad bought it for my birthdy
Your drum playing sounds like John Bonham
the song at 05:10 ?

+Gurakalle Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer
How well does it with vocals?
+Olivier van Rooij Depends on the voice, like all microphones.
+noisesoundtonevibe Indeed, when I've used a vocalist before people just comment on the vocal performance and not the recording, frustrating!
In my book that's a good thing.
i HATE when ppl dont give a speech or vocal sample ist like buying an album without vocals! why ppl still do that? showin of the mic: "oh look how nice" - "look what a nice shockmount" I KNKOW WHAT A SHOCKMOUNT DOES DAMMIT sorry for reging but things like this are extremly useless/incomplete! i know that it depends on the voice for all mics mut a little sample is just nothing that big?! isnt it? i mean common
just to have a little taste of it so you COULD EVEN IMAGINE how it sound!?!
Is absurd that you doesn't tested the microphone with voice, who cares the instruments, the most important is the voice
captain or gtfo..
Sound is not good at all for guitar. I don't know other sound sources. In compare to Audio Technica Stage Vocal AT4100, I will say, this sound is shit. I have AKG C3000B which sound better than this C3000.
Ehh there really isn’t that much difference…. It’s not great on electric guitar but it’s nice on acoustic, vocals are mediocre - would even take a 57 over this for vox lol
