I love how you get several videos on the same project and one long project video. It's edited in such a way I can watch all of the videos and not get bored and maybe find something out new. Max you're a genius with these.
The fact that, even though this is tough work and Jeff has to run back and forth overseeing and working BUT he still smiles and laughs, makes these videos informative AND enjoyable! An hour long video just breezes on by! 😊

This was really awesome - I really liked the bit with your wife. You seemed a bit more relaxed on this project it was good to see; your daughter isn't just going to have the NICEST house in that area but you also have the element of knowing that it's done properly and correctly for the future - and she's going to live with the pride that her dad and family did this together; screw the increase of property value - she has a sense of pride knowing this is all hand done by her entire family - that's worth it - that's the true money in the bank.
I like how you explain what you're doing and why you're doing it during demo. Good to know for DIYers. HGTV just shows a montage of people busting down walls plus one dramatic "unforseen" budget busting repair

It's hard doing this stuff all by yourself but it's so worth it! So far I've put up planter post string lights, made a 10ft picnic table and 2 single seat swings in my empty 9,000sq ft backyard. I want to deck my concrete patio and extend it and put a bar up against the house. I made your easy shelves in my garage 🤗. I installed pullout trash and recycle in a cabinet and about to install and overhead microwave. So much to do and your videos make me excited to keep on going. Don't know what I'd do without you. Thanks Jeff!

Good evening Jeff , just amazing outcome . Pat yourself on the back . I have been watching your videos for about a year , I am little stingy to commend and comment on people's job . I am may be about your age , cooking all my life for survival , never inspired to wear a hat with 30 pleats on it but certainly am a good cook at this point of my life . My peers say so , and am proud to of it . Come on , after 36 years of doing the same fucking . Have DEEP RESPECT for people who are CRAFTSMEN , working with their hands . I don't know whether anybody has ever called you a " MAVERICK " , but you are one , I am one too . When you are creating some thing , or learn a trade , you learn the fundamentals after that you gain experience by doing it repeatedly , then comes the NUANCES , for which you need to use your GREY MATTER and only people with passion for their job have it and that makes you stand out then the others . Of all the videos , I have explored on your field , you are the only one with such an extensive knowledge on the subject , you can " WALK TALK " and for that reason , I have an utmost RESPECT for you and on top you have some MORALS , SCRUPLES and PRINCIPLES to live by which is a rare commodity in this day and age . man that bathroom was beautiful even before you renovated it
Should have left it as it was !! What a mess he has made - just look closely from the wall tiling to the wall paper mistake he made that is hidden bu the hanging clothes - lets not mention the hideous cabinets and the fact that the shower drain is in the wrong position and will fail to drain when there is a lot of soap bubbles and the fall is all towards it with no floor drain in the room where the vanity is - how can this possibly pass an inspection ??? Not a good idea to take out a bath tub in a young couple's house who will sooner or later have children - does this house have a bath in another room perhaps ?? A good tradesman generally has good tools - this guy has a hobby knife - make up your own mind viewers. Cheers.

@@NunYaaBizz - thanks for your reply - well obviously you can see my comment - Jeff does some very ordinary DIY work in his videos and I think that sadly he is teaching potential DIY'ers how to do bad work that will either cost them or the next owners in more ways that one - take a look at the renovation he did in his daughters house and see what you think - Cheers.
@@serge.crispino418 I agree that some floor tiles in the bathroom do not line up and not evenly flat.
I also can't see how the revised bathroom and the "walk-in wardrobe" would add 100k Canadian dollars (one bedroom scarified).
@@saulger6409 - thanks for your reply - Jeff has his heart in the right place and he is a real trooper and knows a little bit about a lot of things but his skills are based on 20+ years of doing insurance work which pretty much means make it look good and keep it cheap - which certainly can be done - time will tell how much quality is in his workmanship - I have asked him to show us some of his previous work 1 -2 -3 years down the track to see how it fared but I have never had a reply from him - Cheers.

I really want to thank you for your willingness, candor, and the integrity you put into these videos. 😂😂 I'm not gonna lie I am in a tight budget and after I found your channel, you have chastise me on a few occasions for lack of know how on some of my diy projects. 🤣🤣🤣 It is hilarious, I should've raised my hand in the comments on those vids for comedic relief. I remember for Ex. Buying plastic register vents. Won't make that mistake again.

Jeff, another amazing job. On a side note, I installed a solar tube into my walk-in closet so that we wouldn't need a light every time we entered. After a few years some of the clothes started showing fading where they were exposed to the light. Of course not that many people have clothes hanging for years.

When you see the price for builder upgrades you'll understand. If you're handy, patient, and plan on living there long term a good strategy is buy it with carpet, linoleum, and 2" trim and an unfinished basement.
If you do the upgrades later and pay cash your sweat equity really is valuable. Not only are you saving on the labor related cost but you're not paying interest on the upgrades and if you're spending your weekends fixing up your house you're never bord and never "wasting" money.

Jeff, the linear drain doesn't really work. Best to keep it in the shower and have the floor slope to the drain.

Hard to wrap my head around remodeling a brand new build lol. So much wasted tile and whatnot. Would’ve been nice if they’d just left the bathroom unfinished since the plan was to demo and remodel anyways.
But great to be his neighbor. Would love to see him cobble together salvaged bits like us paupers.
And that home builder is still charging her for everything they’re ripping out...telling us they have money without telling us they have money 😂

I lived in an old house that had a bathroom original from the nineteen thirties where I had to turn the heating unit on and wait for the water to heat, and it had a shower head exactly like that 'rain' shower one lol. It was terrible! It was low, just above my head, and some of the holes were blocked up so I had to literally run around in the shower to get wet! Good times. Best era for shower heads was the eighties, before water conservation became a thing.
Always positive energy even tho i don't own home i'm enjoying watching your videos.

I think my favorite part of this is how as they're going through opening up the new construction - which you'd think would be all weather-tight, all the latest known best practices, no unreasonable corners cut - Jeff is spotting each of the shortfalls, whether it is an unconnected duct, or the fireboard not going fully to the floor (hindering its effectiveness) - and at the same time he's NOT THE LEAST BIT SHOCKED OR PHASED lol

Beautiful! Love the 3 piece shower. Question about the drain though, how do you stop hair from clogging it or what do you do when it does?
simply remove the plastic hair trap and allow the water to flush the hair away. This is a 2" pipe so it does not clog. Cheers!

Oh my goodness I'm only 15 minutes into the video and I already feel a certain way watching a brand new house get torn apart. Don't mind me guys it's probably because I can't afford to do it. The dramatics of it all, sitting here clutching my chest, mouth wide open, like oh my 😂😂😂😂😂 goodness. Even though I know it's going to be be soooo beautiful afterwards.
we were disappointed the builders were soo stringent in their approach. no wiggle room to be efficient. Cheers! Oh well my daughter now has the best bathroom in the whole neighborhood. Cheers!

Nice work and it turned out really beautiful. But I tend to think that removing a bedroom is not going to raise the house listing the claimed $100,000, she's far more likely to come out about even with these changes. But I'd make that a closet anyway too! Useable space is usually more important than just space space.

Hi, a smart motorized curtain would be perfect the modern bathroom and kitchen renovation.
Please tell me where I can buy that delta valve so I can have the rainshower and regular shower head on at the same time. I have not been able to find. Also any additional plumbing needed for that? Or is there normally enough volume?
