I’m liking this series
Same here. Made me laugh too. Just discovered ur channel too. Earned a new sub here 👌
Don’t think this is a hot take but charging $70 for a base game and $110 for an ‘upgraded’ version of the game should be criminal especially when you’re still gonna charge for DLC in the future
I feel like 2k started this trend way back when they started selling “gold editions” for extra VC and cards.
That’s why Helldivers 2 base game being at $40 and the upgraded version being $20 is such a positive reviewed game, even with its bugs, in game AND in coding. 🤣🤣🤣
Also why Xbox owners want it on the Xbox as well instead of getting a ps5.
Be having to wait for sell just to get it at actual base price
And its even worse when the game ends up being shit
Definitely not a take at all really 😂 those are totally optional purchases that only the silly dillys purchase anyway... Have fun Activision!😂 If the silly dillys keep paying for that stuff, hey, charge they silly butt's for it then! 😅
Hot take: tbh should make that 6th vs 7th generation video 👀
Yep.
Need to drop that video
Madden is the number 1 culprit. They copy and paste every year and can’t even update the rosters in every game mode through out the year
All sports games are culprits people need to put they’re foot down and stop buying them
They all release year on year, not just Madden
We need sports games yearly also every sports game updates the roster throughout the season so that’s false
@@user-tb9cl2my6iyou don’t need sports games yearly, considering they haven’t even updated anything in madden for like 3 games
@@Notfakeultra tell me you haven’t played madden without telling me
If the Avengers game was just a single-player game it wouldn't be as hated.
I don't have a hot take😂 I wait 2-4 years after release before buying any "new" game. It's okay to sit out and wait for the game to be in the best state
Exactly 💯
i usually only buy a new game if they have an expected online lifespan. so like tekken 8, street fighter 6 stuff where the longer you wait usually the less people will be playing until it eventually dies. you don’t have to worry about that with solo games so i usually wait till it hits around 40
Nobody trying to wait that long
@@user-tb9cl2my6ilmao most of these games aren’t even playable on release so there’s no harm waiting for a $70 to drop to $30 with all DLC if you don’t care for it too much.
@@stackin_presents2782facts them steam sales be going CRAZY I think the spring sale is live or coming up I believe
Hot Take:
I understand the appeal of RPGs like Baldur’s Gate when they give you open ended options, but I feel like my anxiety and stress goes up when the game is too open ended and your locked out of the best possible ending. I want to experience a set story not worry about that one random goblin who later blames me for not helping them out.
Maybe it's not a hot take but......
IF YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER YOU NEED A TRANSMOG OR HIDE ARMOR OPTION.
Spent an hour making a character, customizing tattoos, making my build, only to cover up my character to look like everyone or lose Stat buffs.
Live services games like Fortnite do nothing for gaming and make it worse. Because of it's success, other studios try to make their own games/franchise's live service and it kills them. Also, battle royale games suck ass and were never fun to play. I'd rather die to a boss in a FromSoft game for hours on end than walk around an empty map, doing nothing, and have gun fights last for 2 seconds.
Stealth games should make a comeback. Splinter cell, Dishonored, Deus EX, Metro, MGS5, Etc.
Could be wrong but the new Blade game is apparently going to be a 3rd person Dishonored. Hope it’s true because the I think dishonored is up there with splinter cell and metal gear.
Man I been wanting to get back into the stealth game series but it’s been a minute since I played any…
I got one if your game is rated M and has multiplayer I shouldn’t be getting warnings for cussing in the game(not being toxic just getting frustrated and saying fuck)
Hot Take: I like it when franchises experiment with genre changes. RE5/6 was not trying to be a survival horror game, and if you go into them expecting an action game, they are still solid co-op games.
Yakuza shifting from beat'em ups to turn-based has been a genuine treat as RGG found a way to blend in high-octane action into a slower-paced genre.
I like the Persona dancing games. With Guitar Hero dead, it was great to have a reason to get sucked into a rhythm game again.
The industry is not always successful with its genre shifts like most recently with South Park: Snow Day, but it can lead to some genuine gems.
I recently started the Yakuza series and got the 5 and found out it went turn based and was puzzled on why and how it’ll play I’ll prob reach LAD towards the end of the year
This series is fire, it feels like im watching you live bc you are still interacting with the chat
If you have a day job, school, etc. that keeps you from playing games 8+ hours a day, stop tryharding in multiplayer games and just have fun. You aint getting in the pro scene being a dad of 3 and 5k in credit card debt.
you can’t really tell someone how to play a game when they spent their own money on it. Thats like going to McDonalds and telling someone how to eat the Big Mac they just Bought
@@acanofwhoopass4599 I still believe there is a clear difference in being realistic about it vs lying to yourself. Could you make it to the top 1% of players in whatever game you play? Sure. Are you going to do it without playing 8+ hours a day? Not likely. Maybe tryharding was the wrong phrase to use but I still standby what I said.
this video is crazy, love it !
That Kingdom Hearts take was completely trash. The gameplay and replay value of Kingdom Hearts (especially KH2) is top tier. The only bad thing about it is its convoluted story
Facts
Agreed
Absolutely
Agreed, for me personally the Disney stuff doesn’t even do much for me. I do think the one thing kh can improve on is the voice acting! It too stiff for me
I hate how long it takes to even get started for the games. Even the DS one took 5yrs to get to some action 😂😂
Your videos been hitting lately bro. Keep going, u the 🐐
Good choice of covers given the other image you had lol
Bro my jaw dropped when you referenced army of 2 HANDS DOWN one of the most underrated co op 3rd person shooter with an insane back to back mechanic forcing teamwork
Also the AI was pretty good
You got the fresh cut, it looks clean
Loved this video, this was a good breakdown about a lot of interesting topics i didn't know people weren't aware of.
Max Payne was Rockstar's most underrated series
Max payne 3 is my favorite game of all time even tho it has the weakest story of the 3
Nah Manhunt is most underrated
Would definitely love that video on a versus between the 6th and 7th console generation
I love this video TBH!!!
I love this series. This the one 👏🏽
I played FIFA 2002, I can still remember the soundtrack with Gorillaz’ 19-2000
Thumbnails are dope 🔥🙏🏽
Hot Take: People who only play yearly release games (CoD, 2k, Fifa Madden and etc) aren't really gamers, they should branch out and find games they could enjoy. Not a cog in a machine
The Nintendo Wii had some of the best Nintendo classics than any other Nintendo system that came after.
And Gen 7 ability to play old games doesn’t get talked about enough. The joy of playing a GameCube game on the Wii with classic GC controller. Chef’s kiss
Been watching bro since I was like 14 and he inspired me to stream a bit. What a great new show. My favorite piece of gaming topic content in a longggg time.
I’m 27 btw. Remember when bro had the locs and stories about wrestling in Hs.
2k player might be mad but idc YALL ARE RPG FANS!
I swear yall do the exact same things you do in every rpg ever make a character of your liking, customize the stats/attributes for the build to specify the class. They even have factions and quest in a damn basketball game. Theyd probably think any rpg microtransaction is a blessing compared to how 2k does them too
I mean technically u are playing a role in sports, so sports games technically ARE RPGs and 2k has stated implementin RPG elements
Tbh i like the variety my boii👌🏽
this thumbnail is p funny man love seeing the creativity
That thumbnail go hard
Regarding my take on motion blur, lol: yes, what you said about Dragon's Dogma 2 was perfect. I think the main root for my preference of motion blur is
1.) I'm mainly a console gamer, so I play a lot of 30fps games. The motion blur helps make it look smoother, especially when done right like DD2, RDR2, Jedi, Spider-man, etc. Oh and yeah, I remember Killzone Shadowfall. Now, THAT, was motion blur even I couldn't handle.
2.) I mainly play single-player, story driven games. I enjoy the more cinematic look when I play.
Ngl I don’t even notice it while playing 😂
Although my heart will always be with the 6th generation consoles, the 7th generation makes me emotional, just a absolute fun time, will always remember coming home from school and hoping on halo 3 and black ops 1 too simply talk shit with my friends who lived elsewhere. The game was more of a background then anything, the only multiplayer experience with my friends on the 7th generation is what makes it goated for me.
Hey man, I've been watching you since about 2010. I remember the ModernWarNegro videos, and they were a blast. You're definitely right about the organic feeling of games and content creation. Anyway, bro, it's good to see you still at it. I love your vibe, man!
As a KH fan, I'd have to agree with that hot take. One thing that they missed is the collaboration between Final Fantasy and Disney, which, imo was the selling point of KH and why the franchise have become so successful. It's also why KH3 received so much backlash when it was lacking Final Fantasy characters.
20:59 EXACTLY!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hot take: if you don’t feel like hopping on the game & a “friend” hits you up saying they “need” you dont need to feel obligated to hop on. I’m not interrupting anything I’m doing during the day to hop on the game if I don’t feel like playing that shit. Those who try to guilt trip you into hopping on are not your real friends either. I said no…. Why are you still asking P Diddy. Respect my boundaries
Or they make it impossible to play your single player games
Army of Two man. what a game 7:38
These a.i. thumbnails though🤣🤣🤣😭😭
Assassin’s Creed multiplayer was ahead of its time. Peak game modes, dynamic strategic mechanics and techs. Idk why Ubisoft dumped it but they probably could’ve really revived AC
Hottakes:
-CoD: Black Ops(OG) was the best black ops
-CoD: Infinite Warfare had the most creative ideas in forms of new zombies maps--multiplayer was straight.
-Def Jam ICON was decent and didn't deserve all the hate from them trying something new
-DJFFNY AIN'T NEVER COMING BACK--GET ON DOLPHIN/PCSX2 AND USE PARSEC WHIT DA HOMIES
-GTAV wasn't bad before the insane amount of people buying BULLSHARK cards
-Microtransaction aren't bad when you're not eliminating your primary currency in your video game ecosystem and give benefits of attaining both forms of currency. (And the obvious gameplay advantage issue)
Def Jam Fifa street was some nice times
The thumbnail! 😂😂😂😂
lol this reminds me I been watching your channel since your gamer tag was Drake Jr lol
more hot takes lets gooo
I dont think a mic option should make a game rated M because then 2k and Madden would be rated M and its just sports lmao and you can mute people anyway
Power Stone 2 is the greatest multiplayer fighter of all time...the way the map interacts and changed(some even multiple times), weapon pick ups, and the 4 player with friends was the shit
Hot take: despite their horrible reputation, Ubisoft needs to be commended for trying to keep extreme sports genre alive. Steep was the last decent snowboarding game. Rider's Republic is good for what it is.
Hot take: Stellar Blade already looked interesting beforehand. I saw the potential early on
Nah, you guessed bro
I think what they're talking about when it comes to cyberpunk 2077 and Far cry. Is that some of the missions in cyberpunk you have to sneak into an enemy's base to take it over or go when gun plays in like you can do in Far Cry. Not all the missions are like that in cyberpunk but some are
22:20 right!
The fact that the selling points of the Ps4 and Xbox One was "4k resolution" is part of the reason why we're so behind on performance in most new games.
Sadly the consoles are still being underutilized for the hardware they have in them. The 4k resolution was my only reasoning for purchasing those and very few games require me to be played on the series x/s or the PS5 and most games aren’t 4k either. I personally won’t be buying any new consoles going forward because Sony and Microsoft aren’t giving a reason for needing to upgrade, all games can be played on older consoles and 4k is not a huge seller. I personally think that most people are worried about 4k when they purchase a game but rather the price tag for said game.
Free to play games are more expensive than $70 games. The amount of micro transactions, battle passes, skins, cosmetics, accessories is too overwhelming, and overpriced
Depends really...plenty of full priced games also have battle passes, microtransactions, skins, cosmetics etc. You'd need to invest a LOT into a free to play game to even catch up to the entry price of $70 of a micro-transaction laden grindfest AAA game...so can't agree here.
@@dennett316 I see your point, but most people do put in alot of hours into free to play games, imo the average person can’t afford the $70 base game, so they go for the free ones. Look at Fortnite for an example, Apex Legends, league of legends these free to play games ( I feel like) make more money than a $70 game.
And sadly a gun is put to your head forcing you to buy them all upon installation 😢
Jak and Daxter is one of my favorite games to reply. I agree the biggest aspect to a game survivalbility is the replay ability
Sheesh, we still playing rainbow six and they bombard the side screen with those disciplines sometimes
Completely agree with LP 9:26
The greatest sports game 2k5 Football. Way beyond its years. 4:39
You're speaking facts about bringing back double AA games I see the same issue in the film industry so many big blockbuster tentpole films came out last year (a lot of them from Disney lol) and they flopped we don't need big budget triple AAA games or blockbuster films all the time we need smaller budget games & films more often
Im glad to hear i wasn't the only one who played mass effect that many times 😂
Yooo that's wild, Mass Effect is my favorite trilogy of all time as well. I don't meet to many people that know what my N7 jacket is when they see it.
How many times did the thumbnail change ☠️😂
Motion blur is a must have for certain games for example racing games. While I can understand turning it off when playing online for the competitive edge, it has to be on when playing solo. There is no reason driving 200 MPH should feel the exact same as driving 20.
Hot take: Nintendo Fans will accept any goddamn games thrown their way which is why most of their franchises have lacked innovation.
Sports games just need to become live services. Not only is every yearly release basically something that can be patched now. As a sim guy, I get tired of restarting a whole new franchise if I want any new features. Or with WWE, I hate taking so much time I no longer have to recreate all my fav caws. But if it was live service, I wouldn't have to worry about that.
I'm no advocate for live service games usually, but that shit is kind of built for sports games.
No cause then we Won’t get no games the gameplay would get boring then there’s no games to play if you get board
@@user-tb9cl2my6i that's what we already get. Boring gameplay that barely changes. There's nothing that's been added to a sports game in ages that can't be downloaded in a patch. The only time they need to charge us for a new game is when they actually change the foundation of the game entirely. Right now, you're just spending $70 for a patch anyway.
@@thegentlemanphantom1040 as a sim guy on nba2k i agree with a game coming out like every 4 years when it really gets dated. The only thing i can see bad happening is the sim modes getting completely abandoned until next release
Call of Duty: infinite Warfare didn’t really deserve all the hate that it got. I skipped it thinking it was one of the worst games in the franchise until I got the chance to play it years later and I really wished I could have got to play it when it was first released because it was actually really good and fun.
let me just clear this up... the point of customization in cyberpunk2077 is that each month the community would take in game picture and enter contest and winners would get money and items like merchandise sent to them. It had a point and if someone was giving you money and free items you'd make your avatar look the best you could too.
Lol non-motion blur hurts my eyes and I'm not cappin'. 🤣
SSX 2012 is a great game. Marketing and nostalgia ruined it for people before they even played it. It also came out at a time were sports games were dying/ already dead so people just automatically labeled it as trash
With the whole crossplay thing, I think it depends on the game. Overall, I don't see an issue with it unless it's like a fighting game or something. Pc having better frame rates gives them a slight advantage in certain areas. Im talking about games like for honor for example. If anyone else still plays that. I know some games have locked fps for consoles and pc but I think that should be required for any game in that category
My hot take: With PC gaming becoming more accessible and Sony moving more of their exclusives to PC and at a faster rate, there is no longer a real need to own a console. Everything on Xbox can be played on PC and Sony is porting their exclusives (Horizon Forbidden West, GoW Ragnarok, Ghosts of Tsushima). These are games that are beautiful on the PS5 but will look IMMACULATE on PC.
I think games should have a motion blur slider, it really can emphasize speed but you should be able to decide how much it affects your vision.
this just might be the black synthetic man
Nah, NBA Street Vol 2 is up there for best sports game as well.
Hot Take(?): Every Live-Service game that costs money SHOULD be forced to release with an offline mode as well.
one thing I had to tell people when i was working at gamestop is madden and 2k will never have the same trade in value as switch games . so when they would come in and trade they would be sick to their stomachs when they find out they bout to get pennies.
10:25 😂😂😂😂😂
Nothing was the same when I went from fighting vietnamese to robots on cod 😂
Look i get it. TP is my favorite Zelda and id like to return to that style. But tbf Totk is only good because of the building. It lets you be very creative. I even tolerated the framerate drops
I don’t get much of the hate for racing games. There’s entire communities of people that just like those games. Just like there’s communities of players that like souls like games(for some reason) They’re games for people that like cars. It’s not like most people can just get up and go outside and drive what they want and how they want. That’s the whole point of playing games like forza.
Yes, everyone has their favorite genre. I like games that can be played single player for the campaigns because, well, good luck trying to find any of my friends wanting to play a game other than Destiny 2. 🤦
Overwatch 2 is still the best multiplayer game out. Hang me by my neck, yell insults, call me a fraud, call me a fanboy, whatever…no other game in this world has kept my attention like Overwatch. 3000+ hours and counting since OW 1 release and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
Blizzard can kill off Mercy as a playable character and I’ll STILL probably be in love with it. Now put that in your next episode if you want to cause chaos 🤣
Speaking of AA games, I'm glad we got Evil West & Immortals of Aveum for the free PSN games so far. I was waiting to pick up Evil West in particular at some point, it's pretty kick ass. Got Sifu for free too (ik that's an indie, I'm just naming a dope game)
I think game companies forgot what made console gaming so appealing for the average joe. If I wanted a PC then I would just buy one.
I played Mass Effect in reverse starting with 3 and ended up playing ME1 the most with 7 completions
This is not a hot take but we need to bring back that tmnt: out of the shadows and the def jam with artist of today
I tried for months to play killzone Shadow Fall, but everytime I started that game I could only get 15 to 20 minutes in before getting a crazy headache!
My hot takes (yes I have 2):
- The Witcher 3 hit all gaming checkpoints (i.e. graphics, gameplay, voice acting, etc)
- MVC2 taught alot of us the real fundamentals of fighting game basics. And btw, we need a rerelease of this again ASAP
Hot take: Monster Hunter is the best gaming franchise of all time. Most welcoming, non toxic community ever. Best gameplay loop/multiplayer. There's a reason why Monster Hunter World is the best selling capcom game of all time.
This is my hot take we don't have good representation brawler classes in rpgs since nioh 2
If real money transaction exists in your game, it should be rated 18 plus. I don't mean buying the game, but any other transaction after getting the game makes it rated 18 and over.
We need more movie tie in games
Just because someone played a game on Normal or Easy Mode instead of the highest difficulty, doesn't make their opinion(s) or experience(s) with a game any less valid.
I fully agree. I play video games for the enjoyment. If I get too mad and frustrated then the point of playing games is lost.
I agree, but only to a certain extent. If I'm playing a game on the hardest difficulty like I usually do, I'm not about to take advice from someone who beat it on easy mode
Micro transactions have slighty been tamed down not as wild as they used be but they still are wild ie pay for fast travel
NGL, ROBLOX does voice chat the best. The game is for all ages, but if you want to use voice chat, you gotta provide ID
Honestly I don’t think they’re a big deal. For games like COD they rotate studios. The games aren’t made in a year, they have multi year dev cycles. There are also very few yearly release IP’s because it’s so hard to be successful. So it’s not like everyone is out there trying to copy the model. Anyone who’s not into them can sit them out for a year or two, or sit them out entirely. Many casual players only play a couple games a year, usually the same ones, and there’s a certain comfort I suspect in having that game each year. Those people buy consoles, which in turn makes money and the industry go round, which gives us more games and a better product. COD revenue alone helps fund Sony’s first party titles according to the FCC case with XBox, so they are a necessity. As core gamers we make up such a small fraction of the market despite being the most vocal. The majority are casuals, which is why these yearly games always top the top 10 list for most played on all platforms. We need them to buy those games and we can choose not to buy them if we don’t want them. So I think they’re both totally fine and necessary at the same time.
Battle passes buy N large for every new game that releases is a plague amongst the gaming industry.
I mean I agree with what he says but madden and 2k have been yearly releases since their inception over 25 years ago. The only reason live ever stopped being annual is because it sucked they had to hit the drawing board but as for sports games you’d have to go back to the mid to late 90s to where they weren’t annual.
So using def jam nba street and nfl street don’t really work as the sports games were releasing yearly alongside of those at a separate time of year. That goes to what he also said tho where we had so many quality AA games
MAD-DED 04, PRIME TIME LETS GO
Killer Mike had one there 🔥
Hot take: All good things must come to an end. Assassin's Creed is one of those things. The series has ran its course.
