      What are your thoughts on using an angle grinder and flap wheel for coping? Obviously easier if you're grinding MDF and the design cut is not too intricate. ruclips.net/video/OrVBbDYTm5U/видео.html

    Watched my dad doing this when he came to help me working on my first house. Like in the video, he cut every piece by hand with astonishing accuracy, using tools that he'd owned and used since he was a boy working in a joinery shop. Sadly he's not with us any more but really took me back to watch a skilled craftsman sharing the knowledge on here. Thanks.

    I've done this before a few years ago and needed a refresher. Superb video. Someone who knows what he's doing and doesn't think he's Steven Spielberg.       @@spendtimesavemoneydiy It's perfectly understandable why someone would use a short intro to advertise themselves with a jingle (why wouldn't they)... but it's getting the balance. For example.. if someone is showing you how to change a timing belt on a car and the video is an hour long then a little innocuous 'lift' music is spot on. Thanks for your reply and keep up the great work. You help us a lot mate.

      @@spendtimesavemoneydiy Thanks. The scribing has actually gone really well, I seem to find it quite easy, shame about the walls!! the external mitres are challenging, especially around the chimney breast.

      Any carpenter should be about to cut a 45 deg cut with out much problem

      Just spent a day doing a room by hand, it cost me an extra length of material getting it reasonable but it's doable.

    This is the correct way to make inside miters. I cheat and use a flap wheel on a grinder. Bravo man.

    This is why exactly how I was shown at college by a time served joiner. So many videos on RUclips with fancy editing but the actual butt and scribe being shown how to do it wrong or the long way about it. This man knows what he's doing, Subscribed! 👍🏻

    Thanks for this. I am about to fit oak skirting to an old Victorian house. Your tutoring and saw skill is very good and I will follow this on some rather pricey oak that is getting a Danish oil finish as the wood is to add to the character of the room. The original skirting was ripped out in the terrible 80's and it is tough getting skirting to match the 1880's.

    Hi mate, just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this! I've come to this today to use as a tutorial to do a scribed skirting corner, which I've never done before. I've never used a coping saw for this kind of thing, so would never have thought to use that type of saw to scribe - has been perfect getting the curved profile. Really really great video and straight to the point - new subscriber!

    Fantastic! I've just put new skirting in an new open plan area (with 14 corners!) and intuition was making me think I'd be mitring the internal corners but having seen your video I thought I'd give scribing a go. You made it look so easy, and with your tips it was! The back cut and highlighting the profile edge were particularly helpful. Will check out your other videos. Thanks!

    Great seeing it done properly. Seems that peoples brains vacated when the chop saw moved in... Even people my age have trouble seing the point in coping, and we're talking people who do this for a living, and should know what it's about. Top job mate! 👍
