I think you've sold me. I wanted one, the roller, to put my own guts in, and I wanted 3S power, so you answered all my questions. Still room for more top end with the brushless system as well VIA a gearing changeup.
My Fazers are my favorite cars. I bought them as the chassis kits and the first one I put a Spektrum 3300/85Amp combo in and i run it on 3s. I got a fan on it and it stays coolish. It is fast. We bash/race them around behind work in the lot. The surface is not exactly clean, smooth, or even consistent. Hard slicks (been using the Rush 36) are a must. The stock tires didn't last two packs. I have added sway bars and the aluminum steering. The sway bars made a huge difference. I go through more bodies than tires now. I also have two running HW Just Stock combos, one 13.5 and one 17.5. They are both 2s but the 13.5 is a little beast. They will all swing around a corner and then burn straight off very controllably (3s is more of a suggestion than control). These are tough cars too. I've hit cars, pallets, curbs, rocks, pebbles,,,, I do have the cups pop of the balls when the steering takes a hit sometimes. Seriously, I have cartwheeled, rolled, slammed, slid. It drove itself into a pallet once and got wedged in. Body mounts were bent and the body got a sunroof, but after digging it out, kept bashing. I got a tt02r, and it doesn't handle nearly as nice, and cost more.
Can't wait to get this one! 3s Can run on the Stock 14t brushed motor and Esc = You will get at least 36mph. I have NOT seen one fail yet running stock motor and esc running 3s. You will need the aluminum driveshaft ($8-10) upgrade if you go brushless, the stock plastic driveshaft will rattle loudly.
This is not true. I have the El Camino and ran 2 roughly 300yrd passes and my motor was smoking. Luckily I did not completely fry the motor. I'm going to try gearing it down to see if I can get it to run a full 3s pack without any temp issues. The esc was almost cool to the touch so I know the esc will take 3s all day.
Hi Brett, that’s a beautiful looking body, exactly like the 1/1 real car. Those Kyosho MK2 kits are awesome, great chassis with amazing bodies. Great video Brett. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
I hope those tires last longer than the '69 Camaro's tires. I run mine on asphalt, and the original tires lasted for only two 2s lipo batteries. The Protoform VTA Trans Am tires and wheels are the way to go for asphalt. I also run a 3s lipo on the brushed motor. You have to be careful you don't overheat it on 3s, so I hooked up an auxiliary motor fan. I also installed the aluminum driveshaft and steel driveshaft end cups. Another good upgrade for this chassis is the carbon fiber bumper support. Next upgrade is a brushless conversion.
In your opinion, the Protoform tires are better? I always just tear up cheap Amazon specials, same, get 2-3 batteries out of a set and done. Might have to try the Protoform VTA tires.
@@JustinDDavis Yes, the Protoform tires have a harder rubber compound, and do much better on asphalt or concrete. Also, any tires you run on the Fazer Mk 2 chassis should be rotated, as the rears wear quicker.
