I just purchased one of these yesterday in frost green brushed motor and it's really quite fast straight out of the box on 2S. I also have a black kyosho 1969 Chevy Camaro VE brushless on 2S and I found it a little hard to drive safely but my new brushed g14 l motor on 2S is soo soo nice and much easier to drive.and as I said really fast on 2S straight outta the box. Love your videos too , great location and great speed test run. And your camera work is awesome too. Plus I really like that beautiful blue Camaro and wanted one but its sold out in Melbourne Australia. Doesn't matter now though because when I saw how beautiful the frost green is I fell in love with it and got one for myself. Thanks too because I was curious what speed I would achieve with 2S in my car. Great video and thankyou Sir.💪
My guess a 2S 25mph and 3s 35mph. So after video I was very happy of GPS view. I would not make it faster for the fun of keeping control at such already a fast speed. Unless you’re going to modify for drag racing or to do drift with the model. I rather be in control of vehicle than run after it to put it back on wheels. Cheers
I almost jumped my kyosho fazer mk2 Charger into a river today. Not on purpose obviously. Best quality and most ive spent on rc car ever and worth it. All the adjustments/accessories included for using differing wheels and bodies is ingenious. Great thought put into its engineering/design!
I have the Chevelle body and was very curious about speed. In the parking lot I was running it in it seemed fast as lightning. Confined space I assume. It is also nice to know that it is 3s capable, I didn't see it in the paperwork. They are great bodies. Thank you Greg
Chris Figiel Yeah it isn’t in any paperwork or on the website. I happened to pull the ESC out to take a look at it and noticed 2S-3S printed on its label. 2S is probably best for general running and 3S for occasional fun runs.
Just a heads up for anybody that got one of these. I bought one a couple weeks ago, and love it! The 1969 Camaro Z/28 in LeMans Blue is my all time favorite muscle car, and Kyosho got all the details down perfectly. I run a 3s, so I monitor the motor heat closely. I did a little suspension adjusting with the shock positioning, to get a little '70s street machine "rake". I also put heavier oil in the shocks (55w) to eliminate some of the chassis bounce. The factory shock oil is very thin, probably 25w, and there is hardly any shock effect. Upon disassembling one, I discovered the circlip was completely off the piston rod. The rest were ok, but I thought I'd just share this with you guys. It's always a good idea to go over all the mechanicals on an RTR vehicle. One more thing, the tires wear very quickly on asphalt. Thanks Greg, for a great video!
I had one similar from RadioShack as a kid. It was navy blue with a deep yellow stripe going down the middle as wide as the hood line. Loved that car. Unfortunately, I only have the broken body left. It would be nice to get a clear body to recreate and add the drag slicks and wheels from the HPI cars.
Great vid! You seem to be getting a bit faster speeds on the 2s than other vids I've seen....what was the c rating on the battery you were using in this test? Thanks for the assist and the vid.....I'm sold!
im personally thinking to put off road wheels on mine, and i also notice the little plastic tube that sticks up on the inside of mine is breaking on me,do you have any suggestions for replacement?
GREAT RC CAR. JUST BOUGHT ONE. CAN YOU SHOW MORE DETAILS ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BATTERIES. EXAMPLE 2S AND 3S, DO YOU HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ON THE ESC? AND HOW MUCH mAH could I go up to? ALSO, ON THIS TYPE OF RC WHAT RATING OF C DO I NEED, 100C, 80C, 20C….
Where did you find info about the ESC being 3S compatible? I looked on both Kyosho and Kyosho America sites and didn’t find specifics. Also, isn’t 3S going to burn out that 550 brushed motor after a few packs? Or is that motor safe to run on 3S.
RCDriver_Online I was curious as I’m thinking about buying the Kyosho Mad Van, which is basically just a jacked up version the Camaro and the other Fazer Mk2 vehicles as best I c c an tell. You should review that one!
Adam Lievrouw That Mad Van does look like a blast. With any RC, monitor your temps once you start bumping up the power or swapping pinions. The Van is swinging bigger tires so you’ll want to monitor it a bit more closely.
Thank you for this video, when I bought this car and the hobby shop said not to use this stock with a 3s,.. I can't find any where in the manual or the official website saying it would run on a 3s .. Did you just use the 3s for a speed comparison or do you think it would be ok to run a 3s full time without burning out the ESC ? or wouldn't you recommend running a 3s full time?
Just picked up the gto, its quick, waiting on some lights and a soundbox, gonna be a scratch free going for a walk car, wish they would do a 69-70 roadrunner in dark green

The manual doesn’t help & I can’t find much online. Also, is the kyosho red metal motor mount a must?
I guessed 22 and 36, so batting .500! Greg, while this car looks FANTASTIC, it seems so weird to have a 4wd Camaro. Why do so many RC manufacturers do this when replicating 2wd sports/muscle cars? Seems to ruin the aspect of having a scaled down "realistic experience", no? Great vid, BTW! 👍🏻👍🏻
