Not all Phazer Mark II chassis are alike. There are (at least) 2 different wheelbases. The Camaro is a standard 260mm 1/10 wheelbase, while the Charger, GTO and Camino all have longer 275mm wheelbases. I have the Camaro and the Pontiac and the bodies are way off.....so you still need to check wheelbase if you wanted to buy a spare or different body. Aside from that this review is pretty spot-on. The radio system is better than my $200 Spektrum setup and the chassis is VERY nicely done.
Id have all of them if parts werent so hard to find. Sadly we dont know whats going on with kyosho, makes me hold off on buying anything kyosho except mini z, I run my cars, and I run them hard, guaranteed to wear out parts. Kyosho you need to consign your parts and cars to all the dealers, thats the only way to win back shelf space. I assume this video was made because almost EVERY hobby shop is stuck with many of these not selling, I think I’ll go buy one to support them. Great video man, you and rc driver have this 90’s show style i like a lot
These cars are awesome budget road cars and the authenticity of them is astounding but typical Kyosho. I don’t have one but plan to get the Mercedes orange new one out. I do love my Kyosho MP9 TKI4 buggy though. I bought it based on some videos you did of track prepping a nitro rtr. But I decided to go with the track ready electric kit. It’s an amazing build and 1/8 buggy. Kyosho is good quality rc
I have had the 70 Chevelle mk2 and yes I agree fully agreed . great car . I did mine with the castle creations censored system. 25kg metal gear servo . fast eddys bearings. Great clrc
Great video. Thanks again A-Main - you guys do a great job of championing this hobby and your shop is simply world class. Power to you guys from Dubai.
Kanizrc has all the steel upgrades for the fazer.. Mines runs insane in drag. Im keeping up with limitless's and infractions with his upgrades on my fazer.
Just got the mini B and the mini T because of your review, and now this would be a perfect match for my new paved parking lot behind the house since the relatively slow speed of that rig. I just can't get "enough" new RC cars...
wow nice video, there is a lot of value in this RC would be cool to race with friends all having this platform thanks a lot for the video, good as always
I agree with this video mine is heavily modified but it is such a good car I bought another one to keep as a brushless indoor 4wd drift car at my local hobby shop. And my modified one has a spectrum sensored brushless system and goes about 80 on 2s and with 3s it goes 108 while running a 41t pinion with factor sized spur just metal all around amazing car
If you want a touring car KIT, for just over 100 bucks you can pick up a sakura cs series and you get an awesome belt driven, 4wd touring car or 2wd drift car kit. For under 200 bucks you could spec out a sakura and have a REALLY nice touring car or drift car. Dunno what you'd do for offroad, but for on road you can't beat the sakura line in value. Comes standard with anti-roll bars too.
Sadly, the fit and finish of the 3Racing stuff is inconsistent that sometimes you have to hand fit many of the parts that are meant to go together easily. Knew a few people that built the D4 and they said it wasn’t great for beginners getting into RC because even they struggled putting them together. Granted, they were into RC for a long time but when someone says “don’t buy this because the instructions aren’t clear enough” or “the parts don’t fit well”… Kinda hard to argue otherwise.
I dunno man, mine went together just great and has been running well this whole time with 0 breakages in 2 years, but both of these (yours and mine) are just anecdotal, not really proof.
I have 4 of these. One being touring car from the kit. I also converted a Rage 2.0 to a buggy and swapped a short wheelbase chassis to it . Drives nice for what it is.
Great video as always! I’ve looked back through your vids and it appears you’ve never tested the Arrma Mojave exb. I’d love to see what you think about it? I always look forward to your videos they always come across as very objective 👍🏻
Got me a xmod rc so cheap got engine upgrades and drift tires lol so dam cheap I have hardwood floors it drifts beautifully and the speed is perfect for indoor drifting
Ah, yes… RadioShacks own entry into modifiable toy grade RC. I have literally EVERY first generation hop-up you could buy and still spent less on it all than I did just buying a TT-02. I say first gen because “Evolution” (aka the second gen) parts aren’t interchangeable with first gen. Also, the evolution line was very short-lived. They’re great fun RC cars but sadly they just aren’t supported anymore though the values have shot through the roof for them and I have two kits!
Great video!!!..can you do a video on the transmitter remote? Im new to the hobby and just picked up the 72 chevelle!..and all ive done is add light's, and changed rim's..but remote doesn't explain the function or i just dont know 🤷🏽♂️thanks
As much as I love mine, 69 El Camino. The down side for me is... it's so scale that you can't use different wheels and tires. And they haven't released a clear body set for the 69 GT, oops, I mean 67 GTO! ;-)
I really want to get my hands on one of these but sadly they're not available locally and shipping is super expensive. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Traxxas does with their new 4Tec designs but those are quite a bit more expensive naturally.
I have the Camaro. Everything you said is true, but parts availability is terrible and has been for at least the last year. I wish I could get the upgrade parts I want. I have a big wish list on amain with almost everything having the red backorder button. And it's been like that for months.
Hi Brett, another killer video man, you nail them every time. Can you please send me a link for those Kyosho wheel hex’s, I’d love to get a set or two of them. I couldn’t find them on your website. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
I picked up my first kyosho about 2 years ago, I have a mini z that I raced for a year at my local hobbytown befor the Kung flu hit and I don't think I've ever seen a better engineered RC especially for its size.
Was about to say the same thing. I love my TT-02 but I wonder just how the Fazer drives compared to mine. Just curious to see how much better/worse it is compared to mine. Not saying mine is better but rather I’d really like to see the Fazers’ strengths and weaknesses as a chassis compared to what I know about the TT-02 from driving mine.
If I remember right, the Mad Van body is a little smaller. You might be able to custom configure it to fit, but it might not be the cleanest installation. -Brett
10 years later and exceed RC still has one of the best price to performance ratios. There is a few small bashers out there that compete but I paid 120$ for a very similar setup to this. Spent maybe $80-100 on brushless upgrades and I've got a way better car than you could buy for 200$ from even the cheapest companies
The 1/10 scale bodies should. The MK2 width can be adjusted to either 190mm or 200mm. It would be important to check the body wheelbase to the vehicle wheelbase; the MK2 FZ02 chassis is 260mm, FZ02L is 274mm -Brett
If I got the Dodge Charger and put a stars and bars flag on the roof. That would be politically incorrect. I only jump it over creeks. Yeeeehaaa! Dang you Duke Boys!

Nothing against RedCat but… their support is behind compared to what you get from Arrma, Axial, Tamiya, Yokomo, MST or even Kyosho. I like how they try to be the American version of Tamiya in where they price their stuff affordably but yeah, they have to try a little harder. Bro…you can buy the Wltoys 144001 for 80 bucks. It has the 550 motor and it goes 36mph. Don’t forget there’s tons of parts for these cars. Best, cheap, speed, basher, buggy, still to this day. I’ve ran it into concrete walls going 25+ still going. Best for your money still

You are so right here.i have the 70 charger mk2 and bought the hellcat body and did my own hellcat color and graphics. The car itself is awesome. 💪🔥🤜
What really got me sold on Kyosho is the insane rugged durability! Those things literally take a licking and keep on ticking.
Nice rundown of the MK2 family from Kyosho Brett, a great frugal platform to say the least.
I have the amg mk2 and even at the low price I got it for, the quality of kyosho's plastics/molding shines through.
I love this chassis, no nonsense. I have the El Camino, GTO, Mad Van VE. Will be getting the Frost Green Camaro when it finally comes in.

The look of these cars is something else
I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they offered some classic Ford's. A first gen Mustang or a mid-60's Galaxy would be awesome in this level of detail.
The Eleanor from nick cages gone in 60 seconds would be gorgeous! Even a classic F series truck body, lowrider ish would be sweet too!

Indeed a Galaxie or Fairlane 500. A '67!
You can purchase an HPI Racing '65 Mustang body in either Notchback or Fastback and mount it on a Kyosho chassis.

The Fazer is cool but, value wise I like the Tamiya TT02 platform. Low priced and ultimately customisable.
Where do you get the green LEDs for the Kyosho Charger?
They're not really green, that was edited I believe.
