  • The Gearz crew hits the road this week and travels to the Charlotte Speed Shop to see how paint prep is going on Stacey’s Cheetah Evolution Car. With the hood and side vents glassed in and smoothed out, the first coat of primer gets sprayed, and this awesome cat takes one big step closer to coming home! Stacey also stops by to visit with a fellow boat tail Riviera owner and trade tips on beefing up these classic beauties. It turns out that this guy and Stacey had both been watching this same car when it came up for sale! Come hang out with us as we visit some great folks on Gearz.

Sitting at home, wishing I could still work on my old truck... it's too hot in Texas to do much during the days and in the mornings I can only work a couple hours before the heat or the pain stops me. I get the work in, a little at a time on my "Retirement" gift to me. New transmission, completely rebuilt (with a few improvements) 460 under the hood, rebuilt rear end, new drive shaft, new seats and door panels... this old 1986 F250 Dually is coming along nicely and is transporting my wife and I to our outings. The paint is the scary part for me, because the truck is just so big. Thanks for putting these shows up to help keep me motivated.

Nothing like having some time, space and the tools to work on a car. It's therapeutic. All the best mate.

Stacy's enthusiasm is infectious. The world needs more people like him. Helping out people, like the dude with the Riviera, is what makes him a great American. Love the Disneyland Mobile!!

Those guns are Harbor freight are great Primer guns. I had a shop for 30 years, and started using those when Harbor freight came along. A primer gun was something we used 6 months n tossed it. They spray primer great.

You laughed when you mentioned burning down a garage but that was exactly what happened to me a few years ago. I was getting ready to install a new bed on one of my wreckers whose bed had seen better days. I had the old bed off, had prepped a painted the cab after rust and dent repairs, covered it up and only had a couple of brackets to finish torching off before I prepped and painted the frame for the new bed and refurbished crane. My wife called and announced dinner. I left not taking the time to put everything up as I was coming back. Twenty minutes later my wife mentions how nice the sunset is. I look out the window to see the shop full ablaze and me with minimal insurance. I lost the building, two trucks the paint booth and about $100,000 worth of hand tool a lot of which were the big 75th anniversary Snap On Tool Box and tools and testers that I had bought but not yet used. It cost me everything, including my business because of a few seconds of stupidity.
