Even though Splash's story is about the state of Georgia, where Song of the South was set, the ride was built near New Orleans Square where Louisiana/New Orleans is nothing to do with Song of the South, but at least the land is themed to geographically southern state of US, plus the Critter Country area where Splash is positioned on, is also rather bayou and swamp themed and make perfect blend with neighboring New Orleans Square.
In Disney World Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland, the land where Splash is located in, is themed to Western wildlife instead of bayous, resembling the wild west sides of geographically southern US states and the soundtrack's score uses rather country-western style with lots of banjos, fiddles, and harmonicas. In Magic Kingdom, Splash is in Frontierland, which is the land of the old west, and Tokyo Disneyland's, is in another Critter Country which was westernized and resembles Texas/New Mexico, and continues and ends Westernland (Tokyo's Frontierland equivalent).
The last time I rode this ride, they had some kind of problem just as we were entering the beehive area. As my brother put it, "We ended up staring at a bear's ass for a while."
