Splash Mountain probably won't close for another year or two, the re-theme is in very early stages of development and the only reason Disney announced it this early was because of everything that is happening in the world at the moment. So you guys have plenty of time to get many last rides in but it won't feel the same knowing that you are riding a soon to be extinct attraction.

@@radahn42 I went on it in 2013 as a little kid Just a few weeks ago Nov 9th 2022 I went on a band trip and we performed there. I went on splash mountain right after, and it low-key isn't what it used to be. You really see it at the laughing place.

There is something beautiful about failing after one has done everything they can. @@johns6372The reason the film was called racist was because of how happy everyone was on the Plantation. They accused it of painting a happy picture of plantation life and slavery. Even Walt Disney himself knew he was taking a risk when he made this movie back in the day and it was even under protest when it came out in 1946.
Agree. Last got to ride it back in 2018. Thankfully I still have all my photos and video that I took on it. Then it closed in Disneyland the day before my wife and I arrived in 2023. After our experience, we will probably not be returning for reasons mostly unrelated to the re-theme.
This ride is a classic... it's a deep, deep shame that Disney is retheming this ride instead of making a new one for Princess and the Frog. This is one of those rides that should never be rethemed or replaced. It's a Small World, the Matterhorn, Thunder Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain are all those rides that people remember the most when going to Disney.
That’s why I hate the idea of retheaming this ride when you think magic kingdom you think small world haunted mansion and the mountain range it won’t be the same without the third mountain honestly those three rides were some of my first thrill rides
Disney is making a huge mistake revamping the ride. I am truly outraged and upset to the point of tears. This was such a classic and a staple at Disney. What about the song? This song always brought joy to me and thousands of others. Just the smell of the water, walking onto the wet boats, just to feel to cool air on your skin after the big drop with all the character singing to you. Many memories were made at this attraction. It will forever be missed. I really hope Disney doesn’t go through with this idea and I hope they will keep it the way it was meant to be. Splash Mountain. #keepsplashmountain.
I cant belive the first time i went to disney world, i didnt go on this because of the drop because i was like 7 and i dont think i was tall enough to ride by a couple of inches. Just went back like six months ago and i went on this and had the time of my life. Best ride at disney world hands down
God I love this ride. I’ve been going to Disney every year since I was 3 and we have always gone to this ride. I’m gonna really miss it when it’s replaced by princess and the frog. This song was the best part
Last year, I visited Disney World, and I rode this ride with my dad like three times. That was when I first thought that this song is amazing. I also remember that just him and I were riding it at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and just as we got to the top of Splash Mountain, the grand finale of the fireworks was going off. It was amazing🎆
The last Splash Mountain is in Tokyo Disneyland, where it is also located in Critter Country. But Critter Country in Tokyo Disneyland is an expansion and sub-set of the Westernland (Tokyo's Frontierland counterpart) with the themes of Western colored canyons and a Western saloon building. This version of Critter Country is themed to Texas and New Mexico for some of the terrains, and again, Phoenix, AZ becomes sub-theme of the Splash Mountain, thus making Tokyo's Critter Country is deemed to be margarita-orientated due to these mentioned south-western US states ever became parts of Mexico and often held margarita festivals. Then Tokyo's Splash Mountain also uses the same instrumental score as WDW's with banjos and harmonicas, along with Critter Country's area music (taken from WDW's Splash Mountain queue such as banjos and harmonicas version of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah etc.), that obey the land's themes, but some songs in Splash Mountain are reworded to Japanese and again, Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox become desperados.
I've never even been to any Disney theme parks and I'm disappointed this is being rethemed. It's still going to be the same ride though, all the twists turns and drops, they'll still be there. They'll never be able to take away our laughing place!
The last time I went on This ride was 25/2/23 and it was set to close on the 27 it was raining heavily and it was cold 48 degrees and I was in the front cabin and got soaked an now I’m sick 😷 I got a soar throat 😂 I would do it again it was my favourite ride the song 🎶 was apart of my childhood the good days current date as of writing this is 3:59 3/3/23😢 goodbye splash 😢😊
I'm a daily visitor to WDW and this ride is one of my favorites. once i herd the news it was closing for a Princess and the Frog redo due to controversial reasons, and reading up on that story, its arguable that the new ones more so then Song of The South. anyways, my Last time was the day before it closed and i also work for WDW. Many memories of this ride as a kid and a cast member. RIP Splash Mountain, you will forever be in our hearts and dreams if you read this all, thank you :)

Grady's Vacations and Nature Walks Yes in California Disneyland it is so classic with very southern themes and Critter Country is bayou orientated, and if Splash Mountain was built in Paris Disneyland, it should also using" Song of the Southwest" concept where the ride might be put in Frontierland with the country-western banjos/harmonicas soundtrack like in WDW and Tokyo Disneyland with How do You do and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah are sung in French and you can see Phantom Manor before reaching the final drop, but the ride was not built may due to weather concerns.
Miss the ride love the movie even though the movie came out 77 years ago it’s still one of Disney’s best movies in my opinion. RIP, Brer Rabbit, fox and bear 1946 through 2023 you will be forever miss. But in our hearts stay with us forever and we’ve respected you throughout your 77 years again we miss you. We are not looking forward to Tiana’s Bayou adventures. Will open in 2024. Don’t make it happen.

@@johns6372The reason the film was called racist was because of how happy everyone was on the Plantation. They accused it of painting a happy picture of plantation life and slavery. Even Walt Disney himself knew he was taking a risk when he made this movie back in the day and it was even under protest when it came out in 1946.

Agree. Last got to ride it back in 2018. Thankfully I still have all my photos and video that I took on it. Then it closed in Disneyland the day before my wife and I arrived in 2023. After our experience, we will probably not be returning for reasons mostly unrelated to the re-theme.

How DARE this ride try to provide a fun experience with catchy, upbeat songs and lovable characters.
This ride is a classic... it's a deep, deep shame that Disney is retheming this ride instead of making a new one for Princess and the Frog. This is one of those rides that should never be rethemed or replaced. It's a Small World, the Matterhorn, Thunder Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain are all those rides that people remember the most when going to Disney.
That’s why I hate the idea of retheaming this ride when you think magic kingdom you think small world haunted mansion and the mountain range it won’t be the same without the third mountain honestly those three rides were some of my first thrill rides
Splash Mountain is indeed a classic. Disneyland isn't the same without Splash Mountain.

Disney is making a huge mistake revamping the ride. I am truly outraged and upset to the point of tears. This was such a classic and a staple at Disney. What about the song? This song always brought joy to me and thousands of others. Just the smell of the water, walking onto the wet boats, just to feel to cool air on your skin after the big drop with all the character singing to you. Many memories were made at this attraction. It will forever be missed. I really hope Disney doesn’t go through with this idea and I hope they will keep it the way it was meant to be. Splash Mountain. #keepsplashmountain.

Last year, I visited Disney World, and I rode this ride with my dad like three times. That was when I first thought that this song is amazing. I also remember that just him and I were riding it at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and just as we got to the top of Splash Mountain, the grand finale of the fireworks was going off. It was amazing🎆
The last Splash Mountain is in Tokyo Disneyland, where it is also located in Critter Country. But Critter Country in Tokyo Disneyland is an expansion and sub-set of the Westernland (Tokyo's Frontierland counterpart) with the themes of Western colored canyons and a Western saloon building. This version of Critter Country is themed to Texas and New Mexico for some of the terrains, and again, Phoenix, AZ becomes sub-theme of the Splash Mountain, thus making Tokyo's Critter Country is deemed to be margarita-orientated due to these mentioned south-western US states ever became parts of Mexico and often held margarita festivals. Then Tokyo's Splash Mountain also uses the same instrumental score as WDW's with banjos and harmonicas, along with Critter Country's area music (taken from WDW's Splash Mountain queue such as banjos and harmonicas version of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah etc.), that obey the land's themes, but some songs in Splash Mountain are reworded to Japanese and again, Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox become desperados.
This song had several other versions that you could hear in other sections of the ride, such as the harmonica version near the exit and store.

I've never even been to any Disney theme parks and I'm disappointed this is being rethemed. It's still going to be the same ride though, all the twists turns and drops, they'll still be there. They'll never be able to take away our laughing place!
The last time I went on This ride was 25/2/23 and it was set to close on the 27 it was raining heavily and it was cold 48 degrees and I was in the front cabin and got soaked an now I’m sick 😷 I got a soar throat 😂 I would do it again it was my favourite ride the song 🎶 was apart of my childhood the good days current date as of writing this is 3:59 3/3/23😢 goodbye splash 😢😊
I'm a daily visitor to WDW and this ride is one of my favorites. once i herd the news it was closing for a Princess and the Frog redo due to controversial reasons, and reading up on that story, its arguable that the new ones more so then Song of The South. anyways, my Last time was the day before it closed and i also work for WDW. Many memories of this ride as a kid and a cast member. RIP Splash Mountain, you will forever be in our hearts and dreams

In Walt Disney World of Florida, the music of Splash Mountain is played with different instruments; it uses a lot of banjos and harmonicas, owing to its location in Frontierland and also the Western colors applied to the mountain to obey Frontierland's theming and Phoenix, Arizona becomes a sub-theme of WDW's Splash Mountain due to the mountain resembles Piestewa Peak in that location and this obeys Phoenix, Arizona as the location of filming history of Song of the South, where the studio built a plantation set for the outdoor scenes of the movie. Additionally, in WDW's Splash Mountain, the villains (Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear), become desperados. The queue music of Splash Mountain, such as tracks from Song of the South, along with popular songs like Old Macdonald, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, Wabash Cannonball, and Goober Peas are also played in bluegrass country style with lots of banjos.

Grady's Vacations and Nature Walks Yes in California Disneyland it is so classic with very southern themes and Critter Country is bayou orientated, and if Splash Mountain was built in Paris Disneyland, it should also using" Song of the Southwest" concept where the ride might be put in Frontierland with the country-western banjos/harmonicas soundtrack like in WDW and Tokyo Disneyland with How do You do and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah are sung in French and you can see Phantom Manor before reaching the final drop, but the ride was not built may due to weather concerns.

Miss the ride love the movie even though the movie came out 77 years ago it’s still one of Disney’s best movies in my opinion. RIP, Brer Rabbit, fox and bear 1946 through 2023 you will be forever miss. But in our hearts stay with us forever and we’ve respected you throughout your 77 years again we miss you. We are not looking forward to Tiana’s Bayou adventures. Will open in 2024. Don’t make it happen.
